Machhkund Fort / Temple is very Beautiful, neat and clean, very well maintained, the area is huge.Best time to visit is in the morning and atleast 2 to 3 hours of time is required to see the entire area.If visiting by car, theres ample of parking space.Tourists can visit Abdal Shah Baba Dargah also, which is located nearby on mountain peak, The Dargah is very beautifully made and tourists can carry binoculars to take a glimpse of entire Dholpur from the Dargah.

The Machkund Temple Dholpur is located at a distance of approximately 4 km from the Dholpur city. It is a very beautiful and sacred place with a very peaceful and serene environment all around it. Once you visit this place, you will surely be away with all the negativity that you had before making a visit to this temple. This place is said to be named after the Raja Machch Kund. The temple is situated on the banks of River Chambal, and thus, has a beautiful scenic beauty.

A beautiful lake surrounded by various temples, youll need a car, but Its well worth a drive out. Theres boating available, I just wish I had time to go in one. Plenty of people about, some taking a dip.

Nice historical temple said to be 5000 years old . Its even named mini pushkar here . The building seems to be maintained fine. In the evening aarti time there are fountain and lights in the kind deployed on boats which seemed to be an attraction but couldnt attend same .

Nice sacred place. Real secular dholpur having Hindu temples of machkund maharaj, Lord Radhe Krishna and jagannath ji with a gurudwara sahib in close proximity and Sufi dargah at nearby hill. The water of lake is too dirty. Place is having historical importance connect the story with Lord Krishna. Local government needs a lot to develop the place as a big tourist attraction of dholpur. They have done a lot but still a lot needs to be done.

As the legend goes, Suryavansi Muchkund, a righteous king, had ruled over the land for a long time before the incarnation of Lord Ram. Raja Muchkund had fought several wars and killed several demons. His valor and righteousness were put in high esteem by the gods. The king, for killing mighty demons, was given a boon by the gods, that any one disturbing him while asleep, would be instantly burnt. Lord Krishna was chased by Kal Yavan, a demon, was led into that cave. The demon disturbed sleeping king in ignorance and anger. As the king opened his eyes and saw Kal Yavan, the mighty demon got instantly burnt to ashes.
