I payed lessons but then stopped to learn with preply. They deleted my account but didnt refund my payed without me contacting them. The support answered fast so okay, but I dont like that they disable accounts and dont refund the lessons you didnt use.

I have subscribed for preply around 2 months ago. And during all this time I had experienced nothing but technical problems:1. Ive applied for regular weekly lessons with a teacher, and expected them to auto-schedule each week. But it didnt happen. And the teacher with whom we agreed to have a lesson next Monday, contacted me and asked why I didnt schedule my lesson for the next Monday. After that we scheduled all the lessons manually.2. In 50% of cases I couldnt login into my account on Preply before the lesson, so we were forced to move to Skype to conduct the lessons. And the first time when it happened, it took around 15min of 1 hour lesson to figure out how to connect to the teacher if the platform doesnt work.3. Finally, 2 months later, when I actually stopped taking the lessons, though still had some money on my account, the platform unexpectedly autoscheduled those Monday lessons that it didnt schedule 2 month ago. As I was on vacation at that time, I even didnt know that some lessons are scheduled on my behalf, and thus I lost around 50EUR on the lessons I didnt have.4. When I wrote to support to complain and get my money back, they wrote to me that it was me who autoscheduled the lessons, so they will not return my money.I am really disappointed with the platform and will stop using it as soon as I spend all the money left on my account.

Disgusting service. We had a number of prepaid lessons in total value ~700$. As for now, our account is blocked our lessons are not available for us and the fund has not been returned.

The benefits of working for Preply have paid off over time. I can say that if you dedicate yourself to this platform as a student or a teacher, they will help you achieve what you want. Preplys ability to provide quality teachers with students and students with quality teachers is pretty amazing. If you want to get rich quick, this is not the place to be. Its a long term investment that will payout around a thousand dollars a week after about 2 or 3 months of dedicated work and good attendance. If you are a student, there really isnt a better place to try. Better at home then in a building, and better you schedule your own classes. Preply deserves 5 stars for their constant improvement and quality control.Amazing 6 out of 5 IMO

So lets look at this more closely. Lets say you have 10 new students, all of which pay Preply for the lesson. As it is their first lesson with you, you do not get any money for this. Zero. So you have effectively worked between 5 and 10 hours and not been paid a dime. Nothing. сFurthermore, after your freebie lesson and Preply have made a full days wage off you whilst you earned nothing, they take 33% of your hourly rate per hour taught. If student is happy and they rebook you, knock 33% off your rate.6. Lets be generous and underestimate teachers rates. $10 per hour. All first lessons are free. Thats 70,000 x $10 = $700k of which they owe you and give you nothing. Each student of which there are over 100,000 book 5 hour prepaid lessons.100,000 x 5 hours = 500,000 hours (5 is the minimum hours students can book)500,000 x $10 x 33% = $1.6millionThese figures are grossly underestimated but what is even funnier is that you deliver your lessons over SKYPE! They only offer an elegant booking system!!AVOID.

They appear to be gaming reviews on various sites such as Trustpilot.Speaking as an expert English teacher with over 20,000 hours experience in my profession, I can only advise teachers to avoid this like the plague.They charge teachers 33% of each lesson fee. So, if you charge 30 dollars for a lesson, they take 10 dollars. For. Every.Lesson. That is a complete ripoff.There is a review below which claims you can earn $1000 per week through preply. Oh really? Lets look at that shall we?Most teachers teach a maximum of 25 hours per week. With that in mind, this guy (below) must be charging $53 dollars an hour, in order to make 1000 bucks and give preply their 33%. I am calling BS on that.Sites that use dodgy reviews to boost their ratings should be removed from review platforms as they destroy the whole point of leaving reviews in the first place.Oh, and their customer support is a joke. Please, save your sanity and avoid.
