During the great and worlds biggest open air pendal Fair Dhanuyatra(The festival of Bow), which is held for the last 11 days of the month of Pausha of Hindu Calendar (Mostly during December/January) Bargarh turns into epical Mathura city for 11 days and the life stories of Lord Shrikrishna from his birth till his vanquishing of Demon Kansa are enacted. Sellers of all sorts of materials from nook and corners of India, circus, entertainers, all India Handloom/Textile Expo, Food Courts attract lakhs of visitors to the festival daily. During the said festival Hatpada becomes the well decorated Darwar or the Court of demon Kansa.
