Aah! Life was so beautiful!

This is the seniomost hostel for the undergraduate students. People who are in for the 5th year (super final year) have had been staying in the hostel for quite a few years in a streak, along with some final year students (though the branches might vary.The hostel has been beautifully designed, though the experience gets marred when two people are pushed into a single room. The greenery and the nostalgia adds to the beauty of Diamond.

It is the third oldest institute (after IIT Roorkee and IIT (BHU) Varanasi) which got converted into an IIT.[4][5] It was established by British Indian Government on the lines of the Royal School of Mines - London, and was formally inaugurated on 9 December 1926 by Lord Irwin, the then Viceroy of India.[6] It started as an institution to impart mining education, and today, has grown into a technical institution with various academic departments. IIT (ISM) admits its undergraduate students through Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced), previously IIT-JEE.[7][8]

Located at the most prime location of IIT ISM Dhanbad campus, this hostel is a residing place for the 4th and 5th year undergraduate students. What makes it stand apart from other hostels is the British architecture that makes it a heritage place. It has ample of open space and rooms are much cooler than other hostels. Almost all the departments, canteen, library etc. are at a feasible walking distance. It also has an Amul Parlour that serves different eatables.
