Bangladesh-India Friendship Society is one of the oldest organizations in the independent Bangladesh. The Society was formed just after the independence of Bangladesh. In this connection, we must remember with the deepest honour and respect the names of the worlds two great leaders our Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the then Prime Minister of India Smt. Indira Gandhi, who jointly initiated forming the society.Since its formation Bangladesh-India Friendship Society has marched forward with steady steps despite ups and downs by the passing of time. However, it has now reached a formidable position in the field of relations between the two countries.
