If you want to eat authentic ramen, this is place you should go. Price is okay. The environment was really good too. As for taste, i liked all items except the ramen. Actually the ramen was good but thats something to do with my tastebud (as a bengali) .But if you really love ramen, this the place you should go. Choose the flavour carefully. But the side items were top notch.
My rating might be a bit too harsh as I am not a fan of Japanese food but its also true that I gave 4 star to Tokyo Express and I found Ginza quite good as well. So what causes this negative review is some other factors rather than the genre of food. The table beside ours was dirty the whole time. We had to tell them twice to clean up the left overs from that table as it was distasteful. If we compare the bento box with other similar restaurants, the taste was evidently worse. We liked their Katsu. And the ambience of the place was not that good. Overall experience doesnt support the expensiveness.
Type: I would say Japanese and Fusion(might not be entirely correct)Ive never had a bad day at this place; never fails to impress me with their food and with their priority to the customers convenience. Ill try my best to describe all the items Ive had there till now.1. Beef Ramen:Arguably, the tastiest Ramen, if not the tastiest dish, they serve. The shiny shiitake mushrooms, finely chopped scallions, some seaweed and half an soft boiled egg seem to have a hard time finding space beside the incredibly tender and well-seasoned beef, however, sings together in complete harmony. The ramen noodle is top stuff, cooked to the perfect firmness; better than most I had, period. But lemme assure you that the hero of this story is, without a doubt, the Broth!! The flavour profile it brings to your unanticipating palate is unlike any other and Im scared to even guess the number of elements used or the extensive procedure followed. Its quite savoury but not at all spicy; quite soothing to anyones taste. I never could gather the courage to order the large bowl but end up hitting myself over regret everytime after Ive finished it(not because of the size but bhai, daam dekhe atta lafai uthe). i would STRONGLY advise you to try it out, even if you have allergy and might die of beef consumption :|Forgot the price of the smaller portion, something like 420tk + 15% VAT maybe.2. Hot n Sour Ramen:ITS SPICY!!! So people who nag about heat, Beware! However, its flavour is something else; the broth delivers what the name promises...very hot with a sour kick, altogether unique. The garnishes do great justice to the overall package; the perfect egg, shiitake and the tiny cubes of tofu will definitely hit the spot. Here, Id rate the chicken chashu to be the lead; extremely tender piece of thigh meat, simmered in God knows how many spices, tends to burst with juices when put in your mouth and spreads out in a pleasant manner. Definitely enjoyed it.Price: BDT380 +15% VAT for the small bowl.3. Shoyu Ramen:A very mild, yet soothing and flavourful broth that carries a significant hint of pleasant chicken flavour and many other layers i cant seem to figure out and thats something that always captivates me when tasting a dish. The chicken chashu slice is ridiculously tender, yet, holds its shape like a King on the top alongside its worthy minions: wakame and nori seaweed, scallions and sweet corn. The mild hit of Soy sauce flavour in the broth carries the whole dish to a definite favourable spot.Price: BDT380 +15% VAT for the small bowl.4. Miso Ramen:A broth based on soy bean paste although tbh, i dont know the flavour of soy bean paste but i can say for sure that this mildly spiced ramen is for anyone who visits the restaurant. Quite similar to the Shoyu Ramen, this one too is very mildly spiced with similar garnishes, minus the nori, and a similarly fantastic chicken chashu slice.Price: BDT380 +15% VAT for the small bowl.5. Seafood Ramen:This is their costliest bowl of ramen AFAIK. Amongst all the bowls I tried, this one brings the mildest flavoured clear broth with a hefty amount of elements like sweet corn, wakame, scallions,a nice half egg, couple of thiccc n juicy prawns and a few chunks of pink salmon. Overall, really good if youre into food that soothes down your palate. However, if you like your palates to dance to a spoonful of anything, theres a slight chance this might disappoint you.Price: probably like BDT480-520 +15% VAT.6. Tebasaki Wings:O KHODA!!! KI MOJA!!! I dont know if any other place makes a better serving of exotic wings like this one; Id be surprised if there is any. The fact that the wings are crunchy and yet, covered in that sauce, a sauce thats def made for a King. the sauce is the one and only protagonist that allows this item to have such heavy praise. the only main elements i could figure out from that sauce are Soy sauce and Fish sauce, the rest is mystery but like i said, i love it when i cant figure out the components of a well balanced dish.
“ Environment was good enough. Would prefer curtains on the windows as it feels kinda exposed. Friendly service, great menu choices and really decent food and at affordable prices. Will be back soon.
Very high quality food really enjoyable especially if youre into spicy food, the hot and sour Ramen is the way to go. The beef is a step down and if you really cant handle spice the seafood is pretty good too. Sushi, gyoza and tempura also top class. Service also great but could improve a bit along with the interior and ambience. Overall very good and worth its price point, Do Recommend
Worst Japanese food in town, its laughable a place like Gulshan even tolerates it, maybe they have good ramen but thats it. This is what I got for paying 1000tk for their so called salmon teriyaki bento box. An unappealing cut of salmon thats heavily soaked in sauce and full of spikes, a barely passable shrimp tempura and a spring roll, barely anything else but to make up for it they put a LOT of sticky rice instead, imagine cheaping out like this. Spend your money on any other Japanese restaurants in Dhaka but definitely not here. Id rather pay 2000tk for the premium salmon teriyaki bento box from Umai which is just few roads away from this restaurant.
Fantastic food. I would give them Michelin stars.Ordered 3 ramens so far, all of them had authentic taste. You can tell the difference from the meat itself, the cut, the flavor..very good!
One of the best place for Ramen in Town! The food quality was high and enjoyable.Definitely gonna visit again. ♥️
Food to me was way too salty but that’s not all. taste don’t justify the high price. even tho i liked their gyoza but the chicken ramen was a total disappointment.drinks were flat. only local soft drinks were available. few other items were not available that i hoped to try.
Food is super good.Everybit of the food is spot-on.Presentation of the food is also quite nice.Dining area is peaceful. The menu is so big.The waiters are super nice. This restaurant deserves a 5 star rating.
Good food.Good ambience.Reasonable pricing along with good portions.Highly recommended.
Very affordable ramen place. It also has excellent salads. The hot and sour ramen is a must try for anyone who likes spicy ramen.
Best ramen in town. Ratting 5/5.. ❤️
The service was very decent and food quality as well.
The customer service needs work,I say this because i got my drink after i finished my ramen. Other than that the food was good.
Horrible service. We made a reservation to confirm. That there would be 50% occupancy and went in. Out of 3 large table, only 1 was occupied in the larger room. So we occupied the table in the corner. Soon the waiter brought in a big group to sit at the remaining empty table. When we mentioned about 50% occupancy (in the pandemic) to the waiter, he offered to seat us in the verandah with a rather small table, in the hit and humid balcony. We had no option but to leave, because we were just not comfortable with so many people in a closed space.
Ramen was amazing. Environment is very good.
Bad thing about them is they are offering two different restaurant food without unbeknown to the customerPlease check the menu they give you... Befor orderingMake sure the vat is 10% not 15%U can order any ramenBecause thats what they best atI Wont recommended their other menus
We test RAMEN 🍜 & it was very good....
Ive loved every time Ive visited the restaurant. They have the most amazing ramen. If youre a spicy food lover then youll love their spicy ramen bowls. The place is not very big, quite home-y, not a fancy place to be. I will recommend this restaurant any day of the week!
If you love ramen then this is the best one you will get but the environment and dining its small good for single people
JUST OKAY.Small place, quite homely interior but had to climb 3 flights of stairs to get there. Food was all in all, okay. The Yakisoba especially was pretty good. The Hot and Sour ramen (which they consider their best and most popular dish) was a different story. It was extremely spicy. It felt like I was on a dare with someone to mindlessly gulp down the spiciest foods available. We looked at pictures of the same food taken by other people on the internet but they didnt look as spicy. Ours on the other hand was pretty much intimidating to look at. Funny thing is, I didnt find them very humble about our complain. They said it was the regular one and theres even a spicy and extra spicy version of it. They were like take it or leave it.Foodpanda app had 30% discount on all dishes from this restaurant but they said we have to order through foodpanda to get the offer. The offer, according to them, was covered by foodpanda. Also they had posters and brochures around saying instant 10% cashback upon sign up but even after I signed up and everything they didnt give us any discount and said it will be given on the next visit. If thats how INSTANT cashback works then who am I to complain, right?
I just loved ramen and nigiri😁😁Excellent service and food
Really great place for crazy Japanese food lovers. Though they dont have every item but the ones they have are authentic. They also have a traditional Japanese dining room so its a good place to feel Japanese life. PS: dont forget to try the Bentou boxes! Theyre very good with a very good price. Specially Bentou box 3.
Not bad, but could have been better
Food Taste Was Good
So far so good
The Ramen was good. But some unknown substance made our lips pink!
Very good interior. Average food.
Great food as always.
Good food great time
Place is nice and spacious. Had tofu ramen, enjoyed the noodles. The chicken with sesame item in bento box 2 was fantastic.
The ramen bowls and sushi platters are really good.
Best ever japanese food
One of the ( if not the ) best Japanese food restaurants in Dhaka.
Decent Food but service is pretty bad. Staffs need to be trained properly.
Tasted Beef Ramen there. Overall the ramen was good. Chicken stock was amazing, egg was soft. But the beef was not tendary, I was expecting the beef would be tendary. Except this the whole thing was awesome. Also tasted tempura, chicken dumpling. These were also tasty. I will give 8.5 out of 10.
Good food but the place is very small
I love that resturant.I love japanize food so much. One of them I like is Rameen.
Love the beef ramen and the bento package....they also sell frozen ramen to go
Great place for Ramen
Food was average, service was good
This place keeps everything as close to being in Japan as possible. Theres one side of the restaurant with traditional Japanese dining table and seating plan. Unless you are a slim person, its an effort to find that comfort zone, or you can choose to dine at the available normal seating arrangement. When it comes to food it is close to anything that can make you respect the cuisine that Japanese gifted the world. Despite the in-house favorite is the Spicy Tantanmen Ramen, Id personally recommend the Miso Ramen and the Crab Croquette.
Disgrace in the name of Katsudon. They served it without any tonkatsu sauce and it was way too salty. I dont get why the hell you would put a dish on your menu if you cant maintain the authenticity or even make it taste halfway decent. Only those who have actually had japanese food abroad would understand how it does not taste anything like katsudon.
Best Japanese I Resturent
Like the ambience of the place. Love their Calamari 👌 Best for those who look for quite place for meet-ups/chichats.
Loved their teriyaki chicken don. Recommend!
