BELA is the well reputed office and non profit legal organisation to assist the efforts to protect environment. The office is a nice and cozy work environment. Bangladeshi lawyer Dr. Mohiuddin Farooque established BELA in 1992 and was the first Chief Executive of the organization. From the very beginning BELA monitored compliance with Bangladeshs environmental Laws, took initiatives to increase environmental awarenessadn sought to ensure the development of proper environmental jurisprudence. BELA achieved the Global 500 Roll of Honour from UNEP.
