Nice place. Neat & clean hall of university of Dhaka.

Its old as well as a famous hall in Dhaka University. Its study environment is good. Gardening in front of the hall is very charming especially in the winter. There are lots of food corner along with a canteen. Like all other public universities price is reasonable. I had taken breakfast two times with my colleagues in the canteen. Food quality is ok.

This is my second home.Outstanding place..I like it so much.

The foods are cheap and less hygienic. The students are super friendly and supportive. The environment is also natural with lots of trees and clean air.

It was called Jinnah Hall.after independence in 1972 the was changed to Surja Sen Hall after the name of Masterda Surja Sen Hall.

Been there for many times. One the most clean and up to date hall in DU campus. Some of my friends get graduate from here. Whenever I visited there it feels like home to me. Everything is well set up. Everyone is much friendly as far I know. If you come to visit DU you should come over here. Overall nature will take you higher. One more thing inside of hall food quality is top class. When its time to price isnt amazing. Everyone can afford to pay for what they have. I appreciate it.

The hall has one of the most beautiful garden section in Dhaka university. The structure of the hall makes the garden more charming as it situated in the middle. There is a canteen walking by the entrance and 5-6 food shops. There is free wifi service available. There is a reading room there where I read newspaper alomost everydqy. Students can also use the reading room for conductive purpose.

This is good place for students to live. Again its canteen has good food.

The University started its activities with 3 Faculties,12 Departments, 60 teachers, 877 students and 3 dormitories (Halls of Residence) for the students. At present the University consists of 13 Faculties, 77 Departments, 11 Institutes, 20 residential halls, 3 hostels and more than 51 Research Centres. The number of students and teachers has risen to about 37,064 and 1,885 respectively.The main purpose of the University was to create new areas of knowledge and disseminate this knowledge to the society through its students.One of the attractive and biggest hall of DU. Surya Sen Hall was first called as Jinnah Hall but after the independence of the country in 1972 the name was changed to Surya Sen Hall.

This a very beautiful hall. At least the inside field is very wonderful. The field is full of many kinds folwer plants. There is also a small pond. Which looks very interesting.The hall is located right after mall chattor. Which makes it the nearest hall from the academic buildings.

I am currently living here. It has an enormous area with all of the facilities that a student needs at cheap cost. But some modern facilities should also included in this dormitory.

For that reason I got chance to leave there for some time. area is very nice. food canteen is also cool (Food is not healthy, but low price to have it). But unfortunately there is no wheelchair accessible route to be entered into the hall.

One of the oldest and largest student residential hostel of Dhaka University where more than thousands of students got accommodated. Its just very close to Faculty of Business, Faculty of Social Science, Faculty of Arts, Institute of Business Administration, University Registrar Building and Vice Chancellors office. Its also surrounded by several other halls including International PG Hearts Hall, Kabi Jashimuddin Hall, Bangabandhu Hall, Vashani Hall and Mohsin Hall respectively. This place has guest waiting room and dining facilities for students and outsiders and there is prayer rooms available for Muslims. It has several a six storied building blocks with restrooms in in each floors. There are some tea stalls, coffee houses, TV Rooms and restaurants for breakfast available. It also has natural views around its area.

Surya Sen (22 March 1894 – 12 January 1934) was a Bengali Indian independence activist who was influential in the Indian independence movement (against British rule) who is noted for leading the 1930 Chittagong armory raid In Chittagong of Bengal in British India (now in Bangladesh). Sen was a school teacher by profession and was popularly called as Master Da (DA is a honorific suffix in Bengali language). He was influenced by the nationalist ideals in 1916 while he was a student of B.A. in Behrampore College.[1] In 1918 he was selected as president of Indian National Congress, Chittagong branch.[citation needed]. This man was known for his brilliant actions and effort in Indian history by taking young teenagers and turning them into revolutionaries against the British stationed in Chittagong with this bold step of recruiting in teenagers then fought against the British Cantonment and in the mountainous regions of Chittagong like Jalalabad hills, but then separated and went their separate ways still trying to get the British out of Chittagong, various attempts were successful in the beginning but many failed as well and many revolutionaries were arrested which broke movement.
