Their ambiance is so good but food is too costly. This a resturant for vegetarian. There are no beef, chicken or fish menu. They serve fresh organic vegetables. So vegetables lover can visit this place...

This is modern Dhaka at its best. Celebrating the traditional music, food and heritage of Bangladesh in a relaxing rooftop atmosphere. Frequented by members of Dhakas artistic crowd, it is also run by one of the most pioneering members of that scene. Well worth a visit if you are looking for a relaxing sanctuary in the middle of this mega city chaos...

My most favourite place. I almost go there ever week. Their food and drinks are very good in both quality and taste. Especially the coconut shake. Must try if you ever go there. And the food menus is totally veg. Though a little bit costly but its worth it. You can literally spend as much time you want there. They even have weekly music programs. Yoga classes in morning and so on. Lastly its a very peaceful place to relax.

This place is actually a name of the handicraft store downstairs NOT the restaurant above. It carries local furnishings, fabrics, clothes and home wares. Many furnishings are local art motifs. Very colourful. Most people reviewing here are actually talking about Jatra Biroti. Just a few more steps up on the roof top.

Amazing place of spending your time. A well organized and furnished of handicraft store. What else you wont get from here! Every single item is interesting and beautiful in look. You will find plenty of items for home decor if you want to decorate your house with a traditional fusion. One will be amazed also by the restaurant at the top besides the sitting arrangement there though mosquitos will b disturbing too.

Its one of the best cloting and home décor store of Dhaka where you can get things that will aesthetically please your eye. Through the things you get there are a bit expensive but it will always be the most beautiful thing you have ever bought. In our clumsy city, if you visit there you will get a rural feeling as the products sold there are made by rural artisans and the interior design represents our culture, people, roots, etc.

I have been to Jatra a few times and I really love the culture there, the contemporary environment and the folk art theme really brings out a different side of oneself, although a little pricey you are paying for novelty, you could find home decors such as abstract and colourful cushion covers to furnitures with a touch of Bangladeshi folk art, paintings that leaves you pondering, wind chimes, jewelry, some household and beauty products, Bangladeshi folk music CDs, but the most enjoyable part was the roof top restaurant that serves fusion Bangladeshi bites and snacks, and although I haven’t attended their live shows but the owner welcomed us to a folk song performance that takes place in the evening. I would definitely recommend this place to any one looking for a artistic side of Bangladesh bring your wallet cuz you would want to buy everything.

Beautiful ambience, good food.I visited this place with my family, mainly because I saw it as the only vegetarian/vegan restaurant listed on happy cow. I had some issues finding the place because the name of the restaurant - jatra biroti - was different from that listed on happy cow - shadhu bhojon. Regardless we found the place and was happy to finally get to enjoy our dinner. Although we were unprepared for the cold on that winter night, we very much enjoyed how beautifully the restaurant was decorated, and the delicious veg food. Id like to share some of my opinions from my visit, on the following points:1. Food -- Vegetarian. Included dishes or dinner sets which included dishes with milk products, but had fully vegan options. I think its a great place to visit for vegans, and non. I went there with my family, 7 people, only I was vegan while the rest were meat-eaters and they also enjoyed it. We had appetizers and a dinner combo each, while some had dessert and tea as well. This cost us a total of ~5000 bdt, so ~710 each. Reasonable or slightly expensive, in my opinion. However, if we didnt order all the extra things(desserts/drinks/appetizers) it would be ~460 each.2. Location - The place is located next to a large street so its easily accessible and recognizable; also people near by seemed to know where it was really quick. The roof setting is probably lovely in the summer but is quite uncomfortable in winter especially if its an unexpectedly cold night. Moreover, the restaurant was located on the 5th floor, and there was no elevator making it inaccessible or troublesome to get to for elderly. I had that problem because I visited with my grandparents.3. Ambience - As I said before the restaurant is beautifully setup. Located on the roof it gives a really nice view. The walls and floors are decorated with beautiful cultural paintings. The rest of the setup is also very colourful and vibrant. Customers walk in and sit where they want, either a cushioned seating on the floor or on tables and chairs. The staff similarly have a very casual vibe, letting you relax at your own pace.4. Service -- The staff was very polite and helpful. They rearranged a table so my grandparents could sit under some shade as it was a cold night, which we very much appreciated. However they didnt address us until a while after we got into the restaurant. Most of the other customers simply walked in and seemed to know how the restaurant works but we didnt so it was a bit unsettling. Its possible that the staff assumed we were returning guests, but I think they it would be nice if they verbally welcome each guest coming in and guiding them to a chair or telling them they can take any chair etc.Overall however, despite certain problems we encountered, which I think are mainly coincedental and dont have much to do with the restaurant itself - me and my family enjoyed this restaurant very much and truly look forward to visiting again.
