Under National Curriculum, the school can be considered better than the college. Attendance and academics are important. Environment, canteen, field all are good. Teachers will try to help the students to do well academically and only harsh when necessary. So, NCTB wise a good school and college to be considered.

St. Joseph Higher Secondary School (সেন্ট যোসেফ উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়) is a Catholic higher secondary school in Asad Gate Mohammadpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is a boys school offering education from third grade to eleventh grade, averaging 8–18 years of age. The school is a single shift school with over 2500 students.Established in 1954 as the St. Joseph English Medium School in 16 Monir Hossain Lane, Narinda in the current old part of Dhaka by the Congregation of Holy Cross missionaries, the institution had a General Certificate of Education (GCE) based education structure. The current campus is at 97, Asad Avenue, Mohammedpur, Dhaka. On 19 March 1954, Brother Jude opened the door of 16 Monir Hossain Lane for four students to start St. Joseph High School. The classes were taught in the parlour for the first year. The following year, a single storied building was constructed by Brother Andrew at 32, Shah Shaheb Lane, Narinda. In 1960, a second roof was added as the enrolment of the school rose to 269. In 1963, nine years after opening, the school was sufficiently developed to enable to two major accomplishments to take place—both of which was to bring Brother Judes original idea closer to realization. In October 1964, to accommodate the increasing enrollment, Brother Fulgence, Superior of the Brothers, began work on a new school complex in Mohammadpur. In November of that same year, the first class of boys from St. Joseph sat for the Cambridge Examinations. This group was the first group of many groups to bring honor to the school. In July, 1965, all the classes shifted from Narinda to the Mohammadpur compound. The new school was very modern and quite unfinished. The first classes held here were for adventuresome boys who had to climb over construction materials, bear up with construction noises and brave the elements. But the joy of having new school brought out a new spirit which grew as the school developed. In 1974, the first batch of boys took the SSC Examination and 32 of the 33 boys passed and one of them was placed ninth in the combined merit list. After the liberation and independence of Bangladesh, the school started to grow and develop with the new country. The medium of instruction changed to Bangla and the school registered with Dhaka board. In 1973 the last of the Cambridge groups took their examinations. During the ten years of Cambridge, 233 boys took the overseas examination and 98% passed with over 60% in the first division. Each year brings forth some achievement for the school but for over 59 years, St. Joseph has continued the traditions set by the first pioneers and Brother Jude, Advancing in Wisdom and virtue. St Joseph celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2004 at the school campus. On 19 March 2014, St. Joseph celebrated its 60th anniversary of establishment.

Besides, they also carry out various types of education activities. Every year, a large number of students are getting access to various public universities. Here students undertake various social services. Many students from the remote areas of the country are getting the opportunity to study here. So finally it will say that it is one of the highest educational institutions considering all aspects. Saint Joseph college is the best college of Bangladesh.

I have been following this school for quite sometime and all along, from outside, I have been very proud of the school and its track record. I am in the area of Education Technology and have the distinct opportunity to meet with educators, students, and parents around the country of Bangladesh. It has been a very rewarding experience for me personally.Something happened this morning (about an hour ago) that I am not proud of and will have difficult time to even reconcile. I took the opportunity to visit St. Joseph to give a courtesy visit and take the opportunity to introduce our education platform to the Principal. Did not intend to take up more than 5 mins and was communicated to the Principal. He was in his office and refused to even accept my business cards. I requested the personal secretary for any convenient time with no avail. From my business and professional experience around world, this is something very unfortunate from the leader of a prestigious school in Bangladesh.I just hope that God gives everyone to be more humble and listening to others. Only then the positive things will happen. No amount of money or pride can give us peace of mind. It has to be found within and with humbleness.

The words Advancing in Wisdom and Virtue in the monogram of the institution best serves the purpose and goals of the institution. The prime goals of the institution are to impart quality education to the students, get them possessed with the best of human qualities, make them aware of their rights and responsibilities, develop their leadership quality, promote their sense of morality, social values, fellow feeling and brotherhood and thus creating a complete man. St. Joseph is not only an academic institution, but a place where creativity is nurtured and nourished, individuality is developed at full pelt and social commitment is embedded. Leaders are not born, they are created here.

If you get the chance to spend your educational life here, trust me youre lucky, and youll regret on farewell party for leaving, that being said on the basis youll enjoy a world class musical concert show at that day which will stain an everlasting memory in your mind. The prime scheme of this school is based on DISCIPLINE , and because its moderated by Christian brothers , you simply cant break out of the cage. This high school offers unparalleled opportunities to its students for developing interests outside academics. And its one of those very very few schools of Dhaka which provides fascinating lab resources to envision theoretical knowledge working before eyes.About academics, not every student will like every teacher and honestly not every teacher has mesmerising pedagogy. So there will be few ups and downs, but youll get enough holidays to practice and develop your expertise. And NO teacher will step backwards, if you seek to understand some concepts that you didnt get in the class (based on personal experience).Im glad I got an admission here. It definitely had an everlasting stain in my life span.#once_a_josephite_always_a_josephite
