The National Art Gallery of Bangladesh was created by the Shilpakala Academy in 2003; in a short period of time it became rather well-known. The gallery is housed in a two-story building with exhibition halls and workshops used for educational purposes. Here students are taught how to clean and preserve pieces of art and more. The gallery displays a vast selection of art works. It features both permanent and temporary exhibitions.

One of the favorite places in Dhaka. I can fill my thirst for Art here easily. All around the year many exhibition happens here. Which gives me a great chance to know about the contemporary art and the artists thoughts.

Im giving 5 stars because its almost 100% wheelchair accessible ( I didnt check the washroom facilities on this matter though). Its still a rare thing to find a place that almost fully wheelchair accessible. And I really liked it.

The academy made the decision in 2003, to become conservationists and protectors of art, by creating the National Art Gallery at Shilpakala Academy. A gallery was constructed on the grounds of the academy, and was a project that involved the assistance of academy staff, Bangladesh authorities and dedicated students. The National Art Gallery has become an establishment that the entire country can be proud of.

I visited this place only once in my life. Not enough experience to write a detailed review, even though cant but praise their security, decoration and organising ability. They certainly was great. The pic you are seeing with my review is taken from the 1st floor. It was a view of the roof. Youll have an idea about their decoration capabilities from here.

Fine Arts & photography Department arranges exhibition, seminars, workshops, etc. on regular basis.

Great ambience with hint of surrealism everywhere. Regular exhibitions and programs are held throughout the year. Those who appreciate art should at least pay a visit here.

Its an amazing time I spent there. Actually I went there for an art competition settled there. Thousands boys & girls participated there in that art competition. Faber castle sponsored this competition. Participants are collected from different schools of Dhaka. Paper for drawing is provided by the authority.

Closed on Jan 27, 2020, next exhibition opens Feb 8th. It would be nice if somebody could update the opening times on Google Maps so tourists dont spend hours in traffic coming to find its closed.

An international Art Gallery Being run by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Dhaka. It regularly houses National and international art exhibitions throughout year. World renowned artist fron several countries of the took part here. U can easily visit it in any day except public Holiday. Normally exhibition closes at 8 pm and started at 9/10 am in the morning. Currently a exhibition of Japanese renowned artist Toshihiko Ikeda is going on. Its worth visiting. Thanks.
