Its really sad to see that the Devgad fort is ruined by the locals and tourists. Earlier there used to be small shops/food stalls and plush sceneries but all that remains today is eroded soil and broken land(due to tectonic plate movements). Although the views of the sea and beach from the fort is still as spectacular as it was before.
Spectacular sea view from fort. Peaceful and amazing experience
Good scenery of devgad coast from the fort
A good fort to visit to witness some great sea view and the type of construction of the fort and the surrounding. Full fort is constructed using laterite stone with interlocking technique. Theres Ganesh Temple at the heart of the fort and a lighthouse at the extreme right hand side of the fort. No entry fees required to visit the fort but we were charged ₹20 per person to visit the lighthouse.
Nice scenic view in evening.
This is for those people who.... Dont know the hidden way of devgad fort even there is a small temple also at the bottom of the fort which only villagers only know. There is also direct walking way to go. to the port harbour. I bet u have never seen so many boat at the time in any other sea of Maharashtra.JT is also going to take place in devgad..The Disappointment is govt should take care of such small small historical places....
It is a very sad fort. Only things here are a wall standing behind a moat, a small entrance on one end of it, a small temple and a lighthouse and a vast empty space. It is hard to imagine that this fort was any greater important than an outpost for a navy. I heard they charge ₹20 as entry fees to the lighthouse. Go if you have never been to a lighthouse.
Beautiful Nice place, Ganesh temple also there
Good place to visit and u can get beautiful view of Devgad beach
Huge place once upon but now left with fee walls only. Nothing much to see inside, just Two-three renovated temples and the light house. Its a huge area and location, sea view is amazing. Very less crowd, good for a family time.Outside the fort, the juice center offers very tasty & healthy local juice options.
Devgad Fort (देवगड किल्ला)Is a coastal fort located near to Devgad , Ratnagiri District, Maharashtra. It is nearly 15 km from Devgad. From the fort, view of the beach, open sea is wonderful.Near to the fort, a jetty port and a lighthouse is located. Most of the portion of fort is ruins, but still outer wall and ramparts are in good condition.Devgad fort is a protected monument by Archeological Department of Maharashtra Government.
Entering is still in good condition.area also good.deepgruha also there guiding for boats.& A nice built ganesh Mandir is there.endless sea view.👌
Historical site .Awesome place . Must visit.
Places to visit in a fort are lord Ganesha temple and Devgad lighthouse. After entering through main entrance gate, you will see Maruti Mandir on left hand side.Fort walls are intact only in one side. Ive noticed that just beside the fort wall, there is a large canal carved which may measure upto 7-8feet. I dont know the reason behind that as it is not mentioned anywhere.Ganpati temple is small but beautiful. Lighthouse is usually closed for visitors and is open for visitors between 4:00-5:00PM.
It is noted for its harbour, its beach, and a lighthouse built in 1915 at the Devgad fort. It is also called Janjire Spread across 120 acers area it just has Ganesha temple which is now under reconstruction. Well built defensive structure that still stands firm else localits would have taken over and built a mango field around area, finding of old structures around dock area that is monitored by Indian customs and Navy jointly suggest how vast the fort area was during its old era. There is a light house that is accessible to general public with nominal charges, the view from top is mesmerizing and fascinating...do visit this place in case you never had a view from top of a light house...
Nice place to visit in monsoon

Very nice place.
Perfect place for stargazing

Nice place near from town
Earlier, the fort encompassed an area of 5 acres (1 acre = 4840 square yards or 4047 square metres) and was surrounded by sea on all four sides. Over the years the eastern trench was reclaimed and a road constructed thereon. Presently the area of fort is about 17 acres and is surrounded by the Arabian Sea on three sides. Shivaji extended the area of the fort by constructing three walls on the eastern side, each 36 metres high. He also constructed 20 bastions.[3]According to legend, this is one of only two Marathaforts where Shivaji personally hoisted the saffron flag. The other fort is Torna.[3]
Outer walls and all intact Buruj, are whats remaining of this once mighty fort. It houses a lighthouse from British era, thats still is functional. They is a paid visit available to the lighthouse which is pleasant and has very good views.
Good place to visit, Devgad beach give feel like Thailand beach, must go also there is one ganesh temple on Devgad fort which is recently renewed & also one light house is there on fort entry fees is 20₹
Beautiful Sea View From The Fort.. Not Well Maintained.. But Nice Place To Visit..

Devgad Fort, also called Janjira Devgad Fort (Marathi: देवगड), is a fort located 5 km from Devgad town, in Sindhudurg district, of Maharashtra. This fort is an important fort in Sindhudurg district. The fort is surrounded by sea from three side and to the south it is attached to the land. This fort was built by Dattajirao Angre in the year 1729. This fort was under the control of Kanhoji Angre for a longer period. Walter Brown of East India Company had tried to capture this fort with the help of Wadikar Sawants, however he suffered great losses in the pursuit. .After the fall of Maratha empire, in April 1818 this fort was taken by a detachment of IV Rifles of British under the Colonel Imlack.

Theres not much left in the fort. Only the boundary wall is present. The lighthouse inside the fort is the only attraction there. There is no information posted or no billboard regarding the fort or the history of fort. But, its scenic. You can see the windmills and Devgad Beach from the fort. Fort is clean and safe.

Requesting Govt maintain our heritage forts properly... This fort is now only on the maps.. modern structures like the light house is only thing to watch.. Alsso dont forget to enjoy the Sunset from the forts Western wall..
