I wasnt aware of where im going and for what purpose. I just followed along the crowd with me, and it was such a pious place, serene. The built was great, it showcased many many birds that were free and not caged. It had book store which had different different books related to sant Dyaneshwar, also the Dyaneshwari. It has well preserved old rooted trees and the heritage. It was a visual treat there, in short.

I was here after covid days. Not much rush and had good darshan. Places needs a little bit more on cleanliness and hygiene. Parking charges are rs 50. They dont allow carrying garlands inside the temple due to covid. Follow instructions and order. They spray sanitizer on hand and check temperature before entering. All shops with puja samagri are now open. Must visit place
This temple is situated on the banks of Indrayani river and the main temple (Gabhara) is around 400 years old and was constructed by Sant Tukaram. It is the samadhi place of Sant Dnyaneshwara and is among the holiest temple in Maharashtra. The temple is well maintained and has a calming effect on your mind. It definitely is one of my favorite places to visit.

Sant Dyaneshwar - Marathi Saint, poet, philosopher & yogi from 13th century left for heavenly abode ( deep meditation stage) in form of Sanjivan Samadhi here. Very beautiful temple near bank of river. You can enjoy sitting along the banks here. Sadly, the temple place is not that well maintained and you will find garbages around. Car parking is very costly here. Still must visit place.

Sant Dnyaneshwar is said to be the Mukut Mani of the all saints that were there in that time between the saints. He wrote Dnyaneshwari at the age of 16 which is the translation of Bhagwat Gita in Marathi and pali language so that the common man can get the profound knowledge of Gita in simple language.He took samadhi at this place at the age of 18. Live samadhi means leaving your body by choice through meditation and getting one with the Bramhan . This is not an easy task because in this you dont destroy your body but take out soul or chitt by choice and that too at a very small age of 18 . You have to be born Devine for doing such great thing. The temple near which sant Dnyaneshwar took samadhi is originally Shivas temple and that it was first located in the smashan . The best part he choose this location as it is surrounded from all the 5 sides by all other temples that are all Shivas . Alandi was the home town of Sant Dnyaneshwars mother. He was a Bramhin by cast and what he preached to all people was the correct knowledge of the real Hindu religion. But other people from Bramhin community dint like this because their business was getting hamperd which was based on the caste system that existed that time. The place is very pias and has true energy of his samadhi but you should be able to feel it. People from all over Maharashtra and the globe do visit here and try to get knowledge. Manny course are conducted here to learn Dnyaneshwari. The muncipal comiss here is doing every bit to make over this place . The roads are getting wider. Cleanliness is taking place. Good drinking water is provided to the residents. Car parking is not allowed next to the temple they have separate arrangements for that. You need to walk for several minutes to reach the temple. Food stalls serve here quite well. To get blessings and grow spiritual in real sense do visit once and understand the power of his work.
