I have done my Masters in University of Petroleum & Energy Technology. Though in the starting, it was bit isolating, you will definitely fall in love with this place and miss it dearly. The college is also fine, good professors and good placements!

Infrastructure is very nice. The campus is very big. It has different buildings for students of different streams. It has all the necesaary amenities like well equipped laboratories and classrooms and having more facilities.

University is exceptional and has edge in every aspect - be it academics, staff, placements, environment etc. But as it is said that FIRST IMPRESSION IS THE LAST IMPRESSION I would say that some staff in the enrollment office are quite rude and doesnt have the ability to solve the query at all , ask them anything and they start asking you questions on the contrary and says that you should know this. I mean the one who have taken new admission how will he/she be knowing about certain things? with this I m not quite satisfactory as first impression was not that good as I thought of....

For learning and placement purposes, its really good. Most of the faculty members are dedicatedly teaching and mentoring students. This university is research and innovation focused. Also, good for young faculty members for initial phase of their career. However, career growth is limited for faculties who are in mid-senior and senior level.

The faculty is very cooperative and young.University has a performance based incentive scheme for the faculty that what I learned.

Placements are very poor. Faculty is mostly low qualified non interested in teaching. If you dont care about degree and placement, and just want to enjoy the weather and scenery there , then you may take admission.

If you wanna waste your money just take admission here, college is not going to listen to you once you deposit fees no matter what your problem is and fees is also of no means. So my suggestion kindly refrain yourself from taking admission here.

UPES has one of the most beautiful campuses in India. First, they have unique edge offering engineering courses on petroleum and energy, having chosen Bidholi as their prime campus with beautiful surroundings all over the place.A lush expanse spanning across acres, the UPES Energy Acres campus is surrounded with doon valley which is a great visual treat of nature lovers.

A very neat, clean and beautiful looking campus. The place is kept really well. There is a guard at the gate and lets only students with IDs inside. The staff at the college (administration) are helpful and very organized. There is a food court inside the campus which provides meals and other items at a very reasonable rate. For eg: the chole batura costs Rs.35 only and it tastes good as well. The food court has been kept clean and tidy.They also have boys and girls hostel inside. They look good too and maintained well. There is a small vehicle inside the campus that gives you a campus tour for the new students and parents. There is a beautiful library inside the campus. The place looks beautiful and green!

Kindly refrain from taking admission in this University. I wouldnt have taken admission myself if I had known about this before.The major reason not to take admission in the University is because of the inadequate college administration. They will never hear your grievances.For example, during the ongoing pandemic, they are conducting semester final exams on a unreliable and unfriendly online platform. We are facing a lot of problems with it.Moreover, I am a law student and the Dean is not very keen on doing anything about the issues and is of the opinion that his administration is perfect and everyone is happy.But a making or breaking point of any University is if the students are satisfied and I can say this with surety that nobody is really happy. The university never fails to cause us stress, be it about taking the whole admission fees even when studying from home or not listening to our grievances.All the care about is making money and getting as much admission as possible.

This was a private visit to the UPES Dehradhun for a faculty interaction and the campus location took our breath away as also the nearby stream! A mornings trek through the forest range adjoining the University and the enchanting play of clouds in the mountains sipping your tea on the sit-out in MDP block is anyones dream ! Enjoy some of the few photos!

I went there for the NGCT conference, the campus is designed in a very smart manner with ample greenery in every place, there is mig 25 body in the campus and a rock museum built in collaboration with ONGC that contains a velociraptor skeleton! The students and faculty members are very well mannered and helpful. The only thing that appeared less than perfect is the connectivity of the bidholi campus with Dehradun for outside visitors, they should maintain a bus or shuttle atleast at time of events like a conference from the Dehradun railway station.

A very good college, good infrastructure, good studies, good placements, everything good to best, but the main problem is the students. Almost 90% students are addicted to drugs. Very less students study properly. Also, fees is very high, which cannot be affordable by any middle class family easily.

I recently did my graduation(BBA-Retail Management) from UPES, Dehradun. The college is having 2 campuses, one is for engineering in bidholi which is heaven, such a beautiful campus beyond imagination and another campus in kandoli which is around 5 km from bidholi campus, it is for Management(Mba-Bba) and Law students.Regarding placements it is average in case of Management. Rest fields, I cant say about.Faculties are good, they have adequate domain knowledge. Environment is very good.

1. Only come to UPES if you dont have any other option. The fees for B.Tech. is very high 14.5 lakhs for the 2017-2021 batch, excluding hostel fee (approx 1.2 lakh per annum) and other expenses.2. University is always thinking about making money, the number of seats are increasing year by year but sadly the placements are not getting better.3. Dont ever go for the placement percentage because it wont tell you about the companies or the roles for which the students are placed. Most students are placed in mass recruiting companies such as TCS, Infosys, Cognizant etc. A good percentage of students are placed in fields such as sales & marketing.4. Once you take admission into the college it gets really hard to get out or switch college, so please think twice before joining. ( Happened in my case - I didnt knew what to do and so had to continue my course).5. People here are suggesting this college on the basis of its beautiful campus, I would suggest to come here on holidays rather than taking admission for this.

I am a student of btech mechanical and I am graduating in 2022. Please dont come to this University, these my genuine views and thoughts. All they do is they charge a lot of fess around 2lakh per semester and they dont provide anything that is beneficial for students even the teacher and teaching material is of very low quality without any miscellaneous achievement or knowledge. Imagine paying 22lakh- 25lakh and being placed for 3.5 lakhs p.a. is the worst condition. Please Kindly refrain from coming to this University. I already have done a mistake in 2018 by coming here because of my parents, teachers and everyone told me that is UPES one of the prestigious colleges in the India. No its not please kindly refrain.

Campus away from main city.Teachers dont know much about their subject.University is money making machine. No proper educaton.Placement are ok but not good.You need connection outside for that. Hostels are not nice to live.Only location is good.

You could be in a better university for lesser or equal price.Facilities are negligible being a private university and with so much of fees.Not bursting out some sort of anger here but this university is really not worth of what we pay.

This doesnt deserve even a single star. Very bad experience. We payed Rs.2500 for the entrance examination, and later realized that the authenticity of the university is waste. Those people fooled us and didnt even refund. Inspite of calling couple of times we didnt get a proper response. I advice not to trust these people.

My journey in UPES has been fantastic. The best part being that this university is abound in opportunities for the true seekers. As a student, one can expect all round development of ones personality. There are a number of clubs students can start or join, they can take part in the RISE initiative and come up with their own research work and get funding for the same, sports activities are abundant and are increasing.

As Im not a student of UPES cant say about academics but one thing for sure this place is surrounded with immense beauty of nature.

I was honestly not sure about choosing UPES for my son’s graduation but upon his adamance, I got him in the university for BA LLB. It’s his fourth year and I’ve heard nothing but praise about the university. I’m myself a lawyer, practicing for over 22 years now and my son has really become climbed like how I wanted him to. It’s a great university and the faculty is excellent. Parents who are skeptical should visit the campus and see for themselves. It’s a place where your kids will definitely prosper.

Its really beautiful during monsoon, as the whole place is lush green and you really get good pictures.Coming to academics, I am a faculty here, you can Say its biased opinion, but let me share my truth about the place, its a domain specific University where almost all the courses are aligned to whats happening in industry, thats why the courses are bit costly as they have to updated and regularly vetted by Industry people. Merely studying a domain specific course wont promise a job, if you dont act on it. If you work hard, trust me you will do wonderful as many students have done in the past. Initially I only wrote about the beauty of college, after reading so much negative comments I thought I should tell you the other part for truth as well. A teacher or university can only tell you thats the path to success, its your will and motivation which will decide the success for you, people with clarity and vision have done wonders from this college, mediocre are trying and doing best, detractors only defame the college as thats the only thing left for them to do. Call me biased but hardwork has no alternative.
