One of the oldest South India restaurants in dehradun where the interiors and furniture have not changed for ages, known for selling fast food items like dosa idli, vada, chomping, cholle bhature, coffee milk shake, cutlets but the taste seems to have seen a downward spiral. It was a regular feature for me as a kid as I love my masala dosa but the taste is not the same it used to be earlier and at Rs 85 I found it expensive but some might say that its inflation, but had the taste been good I would not have minded paying the price for the same. Also they still accept cash only with no option of card or online payment. Would request the owner to look into the taste, rest things dont matter, please bring back my childhood nostalgia back!
One of the oldest restaurant famous for south Indian food and lassi in Paltan bazaar Dehradun. You can do shopping and then enjoy and have rest here with food here.Quality and prices are fine. One suggestion to add other veg menus.
Surprised to see this place in the middle of heavy crowded market, paltan bazar in Dehradun. South Indian dishes here are so authentic and particularly their sambar with Vada or dosa. Pricing is reasonable for the taste. All south indians dont miss this place if you go near by clock tower in Dehradun, I am sure you will love it.
One of the best place to eat in dehradun(near clock tower).must try 💫 dosa and noodles.Great food, nice service and reasonable price.
Best place for dosa ... I use to go there since childhood
It is nice place food is tasty, it is purely eating place not the hangout place. One draw back only cash is accepted no card, no google pay or other upi or wallet.
Good place, Personally felt like to work on hygiene
I had a great time here while it was raining and I tested the masala dosa it was mouth-watering I love it 🤤🤤👌
Authentic South Indian taste which you never find even in some famous restaurent ,after paying hefty sum of money also. Just come and taste it once. You will be fond of it.
It is in a busy street of paltan bazar . You can walk on foot . No enough place outside even to park two wheelers . Food quality is ok but does not justify with rate . Dosa is famous but I felt little Missing in chutney . In spite of ground nut paste they serve something else that does not tase well . After all when you r Shoping around paltan bazar you can enjoy the dish.
Food is gud nd pocket friendly..but its so crowded nd siting is nt so cmfrtble ..its in d centre of paltan market
Best south indian restraunt in Dehradun may be not actually best but it has a legacy that is continue till now from a very long time.... All doonite loves going there and have south indian meals and it is basically in the middle of the city...All time crowded place... Because of its delicous food and regular customers because its very old...Menu is limited but all things they sell are finger licking tasty....Service is fast...Pocket friendly and worth money...
Oldest shop great taste service was good
Instead of nariyal chatni they serve dal batter... not worth the money
One of the best dosa in town 👌👌
Lakshmi Restaurant is one of the oldest & best in town, situated in Paltan bazaar. Usually this place is crowdy due to its popularity & great south indian food. This is definitely my favourite food joint as I love their south indian food & especially their lassi. Dosa & lassi is a must try. Its always a nice experience visiting this place.
Place is average. Food is very appetising, which is the main thing. Authentic South Indian food is serve which is amazing , sambar is delicious.chowmein, cold coffee, cutlet and lassi is also available here. Price of food is affordable.Limited seats. Very crowded. Its a bit suffocating inside. Service is quick. Staff is friendly but the owner is rude, talks very rudely. No washroom. Hygienic.
It was too good......and great experience ......
One of the best masala dosa is served here. Has been going there for many years and the taste of the food is consistently great.
Awesome restaurant... if you want to try good south indian food then its the best place to visit... awsome taste... sambhar tastes so good... must try... also chowmein is awesome here... laxmi restaurant is in the paltan market..
This was once a happening restaurant in paltan bazar. But now the condition is pathetic. Unhygienic
Not happy with the services. They are more concerned about how many tissue paper you want to use😁
Nice place for fast food
Old but not as expected...not truly satisfied with sambar and dosa..
Best Dosa Point in dehradun.. Must visit
So this restaurant is famous for South Indian food , so get your taste buds ready for some good food . 🍽️😋Food i ordered are Masala Dosa , Sambar Vada And a coffee and cold drink as well.Food is fresh and tasty, enjoyed it thoroughly.I am sure next time I am definitely eating there.Price are okk.And yes coffee taste Awesome A must.
This restaurant is pathetic like anything.firstly i got one hair in thandi rabri still i did not complain, after paying the bill he did not return my remaining balance and told me that he returned when i asked to check the CCTV camera he refused ...he was like i will not check it.At last i said take 150 rs more and n keep the 50 rs with urslf as a tip ,Its not about 100 or 50 rsIt is all about not cheating the customers but they disappointed us in next level.but they were doing एक तो चोरी उप्पर से सीना चोरी।First edit :-Its appreciable to see the restraunt teams reply on my review .I visited restaurant on Thursday ie 4/02/21 between 17:30 to 18:30.total bill amount was arround 400 rs. i was accompanying my guest to show dehradun delicacy but above incident disappointed me.As team laxmi restaurant mentioned that they do not possess cctv ,May be thats the reason the guy refused .
It ia good especially Onion Masala Dosa☺
Best masala dosa in the town!
Best dosa in Dehradun 😋😋

Dosa is goodOnly thing missing is that they still use cash systemNo card no phonepe no qr nothing
Best place for family
Dosa is average as well as everything is too costly. I would suggest to go to other restaurants. They only accept cash.
Awesome taste
Nice good service
Going for idlis this is the place to go and try for idlis in Dehradun.
Okayish.. In the mid of Paltan Bazaar.
Sabse purani , very nice quality and taste.
It was an ordinary restaurant with ordinary food.
Best dosa of dehradunReal south Indian flavour
A restaurant which serves the authentic taste through generations since 1944.Though the rates are a bit higher but that doesnt stop us from having a plate of Choley bhaturey and a badam milk. And some other day, after a huge shopping at paltan, having masala dosa with hot coffee is a bliss.Yes we are the generation of subway and Starbucks but the taste Lakshmi holds is incomparable.
Not accepting digital payment
They didnt prepare paneer dosa....masala dosa was yum....
Food taste is OK. Materials used are not great value for money but considering its location you will not be dissatisfied. Rates are reasonable and you can visit for quick bites and Re fueling. Not a great place to celebrate. Staff is nice. Place is old and not well maintained. Towel at wash basin is better not to be touched.
Must try , delicious Dosa n great service
Food quality is average but being one of the oldest restaurant in town it feels good to b there.
Worst dosa place
From many years the taste of dosa from there is not changes though the rate change 😂
Great place for chinese and thai food. Its momos are great. Also the other items were good there.
Its been long of not being able to eat their yumm dosa and sambhar with lassi.. The staff is polite and quick to serve. Must try delicacy in paltan बाजार.
Oldest restaurant in paltan market specialy known for its tasty dosa. This restaurant can be a good option for those who comes for shopping in paltan market, they provide very fast service, foods no doubt are very tasty.
This is one of the oldest and well known restaurant for punjabi and south Indian food.... And it is always packed with customers that is its pro and con too.... Rest i visited this place 5 times from which i got place to sit only 3 times... Food is superb and value for money
The oldest restraunt offering one of the best Dosa in Dehradun. Situated in Paltan Bazaar, it also offers Chinese food
One of the oldest restaurant (since 1944) in heart of Dehradun city. Must visit to have Masala Dosa and Hakka Noodles. The taste of Hakka recalled college canteen memories.
One of the most old dosa corners of the town situated in paltan bazar most crowded place during sundaysMust try dosas idli all south indian food is greatBudget friendly place goos for friends and familyTasty and healthy food
Best for South Indian dishes but the staff is always in hurry to replace one costumer as soon as he or she takes last bite
Best dosa ever!
Nice restaurant. I have been regularly visiting it since last 10 years. Good, tasty and hygienic food is served here.
Delicious south indian food at Dehradun. Reasonable price. I loved the herbal buttermilk provided as welcome drink
Luvd d dosa n sambar, chutney....tasty noodles...nyc food..sometimes u need to wait fr ur turn to come to get the seat..always carry ur own water...as their it seems unhygienic
One of the oldest south Indian restaurant of Dehradun. I could easily remember my childhood memories with this place. Their south Indian dishes still tastes the same as it was. Authentic South Indian.
Place for South Indian foods.Food taste is good and specifically the coconut Chutney.Vada seems to be slight hard.Overall taste still closer to real south India
The best place in town for the ones having South Indian cravings! The aroma of sambhar, while passing through the restaurant, is enough to attract the food lovers. The quantity of stuffing of dosas is quite good, which satisfies the hunger. Other delicacies being served here, include wada sambhar, idli sambhar, noodles, chole bhature, lassi and much more.
I love south Indian. South Indian taste is served here...😋😋😋yummy yummy
The food was awesome, tase prise everything was just good .
A good and simple place for lunch and breakfast. Limited menu, quick service.
All good ... Food awesome... Ambiance not that much good ...
Good option to enjoy quick south indian meal in between the paltan bazaar while shopping. We have ordered Idli Sambhar and Masala dosa, both were yummy. Must try while u visit there but heavily crowded at day time.
Idli nd dosa... Wow... If went for shopping nd feeling hungry... Just go nd have it... Its nice
Value for money
One of the oldest south Indian restaurant in town.. probably the best in Paltan Bazaar.. But u have to walk here , cant drive
You can have best dosa of town while shopping 😎
A bit unhygenic but super fast order on table.Average taste but super fast order wins.Recommend
If you rate it as a restaurant the place is not at all hygienic , its best point is that it serves food for jain ( without onion and garlic ) , otherwise not a great option. ,known for dosa and chowmein 👍
Good south Indian food... Looks like a coffee house and saw the insects roaming around. Located in the center of paltan Bazar and thats why more and more footfall can be seen... They only accept cash and no cards...
Nice place to have lunch after a long shopping @ Paltan bazar
Lakshmi Restaurant in main Paltan Bazar is an age-old eatery which is very popular among locals. It serves basic south Indian food like Dosa, Vada etc and a handful of beverages like Badam milk and soft drinks. The staff is again mostly veteran and has been serving since years. It maintains the old-world charm and taste that is actually the favourite of a regular here.Visitors who like to experiment with tasty, street style food will like it. Items served are well priced and affordable. Must try is Masala Dosa!
One of the old establishments in Doon, must visit for masala Dosa
Great and reasonable south Indian food
Lakshmi restaurant is good in fast food and available various types of idly dosa

Whether you got tired and hungry after shopping. go inside, take rest and order some Chines, south indian delicious food.
Good place for a quick south indian meal
South Indian food joint at paltan bazaar, little costly average quality.
Nothing remarkable about it. The food is good though. The restaurant is located on a narrow busy street. Those who are very particular about hygiene may give it a miss.
