Deeg jal Mahal is beautiful historical place for trip.the weather is very nice and the outside food of jal mahal.The Deeg Bhawan popularly known as Jalmahal.This palace is very famous for its colourful fountains.In the middle of the square gardens,there is a beautiful group of fountains 60 feet wide with an octagonal shape.Deeg fair is held in the month of September.

Underrated & serine, this place is worth a visit if you plan a trip to Bharatpur.

Deeg palace built in 1772 as a luxurious summer resort for the rulers of Bharatpur State The palace was in active use till the early 1970s. its said that King Suraj Mal captured Delhi and plundered the Red Fort carrying away masses of valuables including an entire marble building, which was dismantled and numbered. The palace was then reconstructed at Deeg. Im disappointed by tourist who are plucking out semiprecious stones from the building and taking away with them thats ridiculous. The palace is marvelous and amazing masterpiece of Indian architecture.

One of the beautiful and underrated places in Rajasthan. Deeg is a small place and till you enter this complex you cant imagine its magnificence.Till takes about three hours to see this place completely and you can even have a small picnic here.

I went here on 18/9/2021. Renovation of the main palace was underway. Ponds were dirty and littered with waste from the nearby buildings. Deeg town is underdeveloped and lack good connecting roads from known cities. This palace is the only reason of the popularity of Deeg.

One of the best and hidden marvels of Rajasthan indeed. I am still in awe of this place. Very well maintained by ASI.But needs to advertise it well. This place definately needs to have a sound and light show with all its fountains⛲ working which they claim are still in working condition. A small restaurant by the water side will appreciated.

A great place to visit with family. It is one hour away from Bharatpur. You can spend a whole day there. Along with visiting beautiful structures you may enjoy the day while resting in green grass filled parks. A good place for photoshoot too..

Good and beautiful antic

This has a variety of architecture used in different palaces made for different seasons. The palaces are surrounded by lakes on East & West and garden/orchard in South which makes the entire area naturally airconditioned. A well maintained Garden with variety of flower plants and artificial fountains are there in front of palaces. There is a maze made of white marble gives better feeling then the Tajmahal. But overall palace need maintainance.

Less visited place by tourists. Not much to see, a small museum with some antiques. The impressive part is the palace structure built to keep cool with two ponds on either side and a complete network of water channels flowing to coloured fountains which is still functional.

A historic place in Rajasthan very beautiful and peaceful palace of Maharaja SurajMal. This palace has a temple and jal Mahal also. Deeg Palace is open 9 am to 5 pm except on Fridays. The nearest airports are at Agra (70 km) and Delhi (200 km). The nearest railhead is Bharatpur junction (35 km).

Jal mahals of deeg is a prestigious monument of India and a must visit if youre there on a trip in bharatpur. The mahals have a unique one of their kind architecture and tells many stories of how the jat rulers of the area were superior than mughals, be it their combating skills or any other battlefield tactics.

A relic from our glorious past around 200 km from Delhi is a good weekend getaway.The antiques are well maintained and you can see some very interesting articlesHere you will see how they shifted a building from one city to another back in 18th centuryAnother amazing and unique thing about this place is the fountain system that has 2000 fountains that are still functional and are controlled by people who would plug or unplug one of the 400 tubes that supply water to the section. The water was recycled to refill 600000 gallon water tank.

Exquisite!This palace holds a special mention. Built by the Jaat rulers of erstwhile Bharatpur (now Rajasthan) in the 18th century, this palaces were built as far off vacation stay! The beauty of these palaces is enhanced during the monsoons. Surrounded by water bodies these palaces are now protected monuments by the Archeological Survey of India.You cant get anything to eat in the premise and the tickets can be booked online before visiting. However, there is also an option of buying the tickets from window. No tripods and videography cameras are allowed. This is situated roughly around 40 kms.If youre planning try to visit it during monsoons.*P.S- The museum is closed on Fridays although the palace is open for visit.*

Best heritage place to visit

We visited Deeg palace during our visit to Bharatpur since its just one hour drive from Bharatpur.Fortunately we got a very experienced guide who explained us the palace in great details. Without him, it would have been just a set of well constructed buildings. He provided us with all the details and that added to the joy of visiting the palace.The most important aspect of this palace is the network of 2000+ fountains that get water supply from the water tank with a capacity of 600,000 gallons of water, constructed at a height. It also has an arrangement of spraying colorful water thru it. This entire arrangement is constructed 250+ years back and is still functional. Its operated only twice a year.the fort is surrounded by two lakes that are interlinked and this keeps the place cooler even during summer.The area where the kings used to have entertainment programs is also amazing. IT had an arrangement of creating a feeling of thunder even during the summer-time. This all gives a feel of advanced architecture in India during those historic times.It has an ancient guest house which is made us of marble and has Mughal architecture that one gets to see in Taj Mahal. This entire building was looted from Mughals during the war, each inter-locked stone was separated with proper numbering and was assembled after bringing the stones here! Just the though and project management behind it is astonishing. It has a marble structure for a large swing that was used by the queen of that time. This too was won from Mughals during the war. In the Indian history, one gets to see ample examples of Mughals looting the Kingdoms; however Deeg Palace is perhaps the only place where one gets to see many things looted from Mughals! A great feeling to watch this.The gardens in the palace are superb too and are reasonably well maintained. The museums are worth watching too.There is a beautiful idol of Lord Hanuman, made up of brown colored jade stone (usually jade is green in color; however here its brown jade).Overall a very good place to visit. Please ensure that you get a knowledgeable guide to explain the intricacies.

An oasis of history tucked away from the public gaze. Deeg Palace or Jal Mahal Palace is a piece of history that is not very easily found as it is dwarfed by the more popular and famous sites like the Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri which are about 1-2 hours away.However, Deeg Fort and Deeg Palace is resplendent in its own way that merits a visit to this monument that reflects the blend of Rajput or Hindu architectural style along with that of the Mughal style.Easily about 2-3 hours is required to even just quickly go through the various museums which now house the past glory and majesty of the bygone era.

Deeg is known as City of Lake Palaces. Deeg Palaces were built by Raja Soorajmal of Bharatpur province. Although the place is not very famous with tourists, but I suggest it is a must if you are in or around Deeg town.The famous bhawans include Suraj Bhawan, Gopal Bhawan, Kishan Bhawan, Nand Bhawan, Nand Bhawan, and Keshav Bhawan. The buildings have beautiful architecture and the symmetrical gardens are a treat to eyes.3 days celebrations are held on Amavasya of September and February every year.However, the buildings are not being maintained properly. Further, lack of good guides is felt while exploring the buildings.

Deeg is located in the Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. The approach road to Deeg from Mathura is pathetic and in patches under construction.Deeg palace is the main attraction which is maintained by ASI. Tickets for Indian tourist are available for ₹25.Deeg was the capital of the Jat kings before they shifted to Bharatpur. Badan Singh, who came to the throne in 1721, built a palace here. Due to its strategic location and proximity to Agra, Deeg had to face repeated attacks by invaders. His son, prince Suraj Mal, began the construction of a fortress around the palace around 1730. The fort had massive walls and a deep moat to keep away raiders.Deeg was a site of a legendary battle between the Jats and a combined Mughal and Maratha army of 8,000 men. Emboldened by his victory, Suraj Mal began making forays into enemy territory. After eight years of success in his forays, Suraj Mal captured Delhi and plundered the Red Fort carrying away masses of valuables including an entire marble building, which was dismantled and numbered. The palace was then reconstructed at Deeg.

The Palace of fountains.... Deeg is around 40 kms from Bharatpur, and not a very famous tourist attraction. But with half a day in hand, it is a good place to visit from Bharatpur. This is a palace where king of Bharatpur used to live during summer.This palace reveals the scientific sense of people of that age, how they have used water flow as air conditioner, as curtain or as a tool for beautification.

Deeg Palace is one of the Hidden Gem of Rajasthan located near Bharatpur Town !! This place is the second place in Rajasthan after Jaipur to have THE WATER PALACE !! The Interior, design and architecture is simply outstanding !! The only thing that puts this place down is the Non Maintenance, the ASI department has not even taken any action to preserve the most amazing site of Rajasthan !! There is not a single Guard or Government officer to take care of the beautiful palace and due to this some locals and notorious people write their names on the walls, spitting on the walls and making it worst day by day !! But this is something that cant be missed any how !!
