Food is amazing at Surya Restaurant, I think it is one of best Indian restaurants at Salzburg. Though the restaurent is slightly away from city center, but it is worth to travel from old city to this restaurent. Nicely decorated excellent behaviour and friendly service to all customers.They offer thali in daytime, while in night all individual order can be made. We order both vegetarian and non vegetarian food, both were tasty.Customer service was excellent. Ambience was also very good.

This is definitely the best Indian around. The food is absolutely delicious, the ambience is great and the people are extremely nice. After a miscommunication this week, the manager contact me and immediately solve the problem, showing extreme care about their clients. Wow, my wife and I were impressed with this restaurant. We were very impressed by the quality of their main courses. It was refreshing to see a restaurant use authentic spices and not rely on heavy creme and butter to make their dishes tasty. We would say this is the best Indian curry weve had, not that were experts of eat Indian cuisine often.We felt very comfortable here as English speaking tourists. We ate outside in their patio and it felt so cozy.Parking was a bit hard to find - we ended up parking a block away in a private residence without any problem.We are here for another two days and are considering going back here... That good!

Truly exceptional and the best Indian food I’ve ever had. Well worth the trek to the suburbs to eat here, although a bit hard to find tucked away in a row of houses. This is a hidden gem in Salzburg that I hope more people will get to experience. Family owned, the food is authentic, flavorful and fresh. If you’ve ever watched the movie ‘A Hundred Foot Journey’, I feel like this restaurant is the real life version of that and i wouldn’t be surprised to see them earn a Michelin Star one day.

Price-quality ratio was good. Stews were tasty with full of flavour, but rice was low quality and looked a few days old

Really good food for reasonable prices. Staff is friendly and helpful. I went there quite a few times and it was always delicious. You can also have everything thats on the menu as take away. If you like nice genuine and spicy Indian food I would definitely recommend it.

Travelled from Germany to Wals on holiday and found good reviews online and thought I’d check out the place. The food was incredible and the service was warm and friendly. The owner gave kids magazines to my kids to entertain them while the food was prepared. It was a good choice going there - highly recommended.

Me and my group of my friends went for this restaurant based on the review ratings and frankly speaking it totally lives up to that. Its a bit out of city, but if you have the food here, the distance traversing is totally worth.The food is amazing(Indian Types) and also the hospitality of the guy there(helps you with direction and also the tourist places if einquired for).Food Totally refreshed our taste buds with Indian Masala Taste.We had chana Masala and Mixed Veg for Lunch by the way.

Typically Indian. We were on vacation from Berlin to Salzburg ... nice ambience, friendly staff, special requests were kindly met. Vegetables with scampi were absolutely delicious. Praise to the kitchen and cook. Wed love to come back.

The houses recommendations are particularly good. Food is always freshly prepared and is very, very tasty every time. The atmosphere there is very familiar and the owner is funny and makes every effort to ensure the well-being of the guests. Absolute favorite Indian :)

These dishes with the local spices are a dream! There are also vegan food. As a glorious addition, we received a spice paste with mango pieces, ... slightly sour tart... the Indian bread was also very good and airy soft ... the restaurant is very stylish and the owners are very friendly and accommodating ... it could only be a bit warmer in the restaurant, but after the meal the spices work that way Shortcoming on 😏 ... highly recommended ... will gladly come back ... We have tried many other Indian restaurants in Salzburg, but Surya just remains our favorite!In the meantime we have almost completely eaten our way through the menu and there is actually nothing to complain about!The staff is also always very friendly - we will continue to order there and enjoy!

We have never eaten Indian before. We would be greeted very nicely and given great advice. The food that was recommended to us was delicious. Even my 3-year-old, who is very sensitive about eating, came again. We all enjoyed it very much and we will definitely come back.

You dont want to find a common denominator for Salzburg and Indian food, but it fits here! Surya is an excellent Indian restaurant in Salzburg: extraordinarily delicious and authentic tasting food, fast service and super friendly owners. The restaurant is off the beaten tourist track - not only culinary, but also local, but can be easily and quickly reached by public transport, for example from Karajan-Platz with trolleybus line 1 in the direction of Europark to the Noppingergasse stop. The journey is worth it! Tip: Order firni at the end, a great dessert.

We ordered there, unfortunately the delivery was a little late. The food was very greasy and not typically Indian. In addition, the ingredients were not fresh / frozen and not of outstanding quality.

The food was very, very tasty, I would have liked to give 5 stars, but the service is just too slow (but very nice). For example, until our drinks / food were taken ... And that, even though the restaurant was empty except for one family. But if you are patient, you can eat really well here.

Well, what luck and coincidence. Since only the Surya was open at lunchtime on Saturday and we absolutely wanted to eat Indian (Ayurvedic) again, we stumbled into the Surya (translated as sun), and the sun really rose. The service was extremely friendly and the food was served freshly cooked. You literally tasted how the fine spices spread the aroma of India in your mouth. Indian cuisine at its finest !!!

Food is great in principle. However, a delivery time of 110 minutes is an absolute impudence. Especially if it was previously agreed that it would take about 60 minutes.
