This very Tibetan looking monastery is younger than its neighbours but looks splendid. Located off the Hill Cart Road, it is about 5km from Darjeeling town. This monastery has been drawing a lot of visitors. You are likely to be allowed inside to watch the daily rituals and prayer sessions but it is advisable to seek permission at such hours.

Buddhist temple ( Locally known as Samten Choling Monastery means New Ghoom Monastery) situated 1 KM away from Ghoom Railway station- Darjeeling. There are two Monastery in Darjeeling. This is the new and bigger one.

Best interactive monastery in all Darjeeling. The evening prayer sessions are a surreal sojourn into transdimensional spiritual domains.

Architecture marvel. The paintings inside the premises will leave you speechless.

If you like Monasterys then it is a nice place the construction atmosphere was great. it is on the way to Tiger hill when you catch share sumo for tiger hill by paying RS.200 this place also included . The main attracting part is this monastery is color full and peaceful when i reach there prayer was going on so i didnt enter inside
