Excellent food and consistent in quality. We have never had a bad Experience and the owners are really great people. One of the best Indian food in Dallas for sure.
I am super picky when it comes to Indian food - will be honest, I always compare Indian restaurant food to my moms cooking! I will tell you this, when it comes to finding good South Indian food in the metroplex, VINDU HAS IT ALL! Its beyond delicious as they cater to all taste palettes (mild to INDIAN spicy). The taste of the food is great and the service is always wonderful! This is a family owned restaurant who caters for a diverse group of people and will work with your needs! We have been eating there, ordering and catering from there for several years and they have never faulted us! Were so happy and always recommend Vindu for our friends when they ask for a good Indian restaurant! Thank you Vindu!
I have never had Indian food before but a friend brought me here because she loves it! They took such good care of us! The waiter gave us lots of recommendations and I loved everything we tried. Such a great restaurant. Will definitely go again!
Good service. Great food. Came out fast and nice server
Super great stuff, have picked up 2xwill keep coming back!
Hands down, some of the best freaking Indian food Ive had in the metroplex! They staff are always polite and Ive never had a bad meal yet! Very affordable too!
Update: Recently went back to try out new dishes. The soft bread(naan) was really smooth and well done. We had the Malai kofta, Chicken chilli and Paneer butter masala. The quantity and the taste were really great. The customer service of the staff was great, something we didnt find in other desi restaurants.Old:Gobi manchurian (gravy) was really delicious, crispy just like we get in India. Mysore masala dosa was yummy as well.
Wonderful array of foods. I enjoyed chicken curry with the pronounced cinnamon flavor.
Worst food too spicy one of the worst food in dallas
I miss the buffet, but their lunch specials that they implemented due to the pandemic are great. Very gracious service. Give them a try, Im sure youll be happy you did.
The chicken tiki masala and saag paneer was absolutely amazing.
Awesome lunch special!! The food was amazing and the dining room was very clean!
Hot authentic food was served. But was disappointed with the fried fish.
We were so excited to discover this restaurant just down the road, especially in the middle of the stay-at-home orders. I called in the order after reviewing menu photos on Yelp. Easiest phone order process ever! For two people, we ordered vegetable samosas (2), keema naan (my favorite), plain naan, masala dosa, and lamb curry with jasmine rice. I had tons of dosa during my visit to Chennai, but never had it stuffed with potatoes before! Added in a 20% tip and it came out to $43.75, not bad.Pickup was easy and everything was packaged well with great dipping sauces. We have made 3 more meals out of the leftovers. My boyfriend enjoyed the lamb curry spice level and I couldnt get enough of the combo of garlic and lamb in the keema naan.
Seriously.... theres no reason for being so slow... Terrible place
First time, tried the chicken curry and Palak Panner, Garlic nan, chilly chicken. We want to dine in soon. Big menu, lots of great options. Impressed!
I dont normally review restaurants but this was the best Indian food Ive had in quite a while. The lamb vindaloo and Andara style chicken were both spicy flavorful and delicious. The gulab jamon dessert was the best Ive tasted at any restaurant ever. It tasted like it was fresh out of the fryer and so delicious. A big step above typical buffet Indian food. Highly recommended!
Super delicious food. Beware of the heat - asking for mild can still give a spicy dish, not that Im complaining. Paneer butter masala and moli kofta are outstanding as are any number of the briani dishes.
My family and I have been eating at Vindu for years (previously Pasand) and it never disappoints. The owner is the sweetest and always goes above and beyond to ensure we are beyond satisfied. Love their dosa and paneer butter masala!
Still great. Amazing carrot pickle.
If you like cinnamon!Ordered lamb vindaloo via Uber eats, wow, how much cinnamon did they put in the sauce because that’s all I tasted, cinnamon has no place in a vindaloo!!So I just enjoyed my $20 naan bread and poppadom which where great
Excellent southern Indian food, very responsive on phone when placing to go order. Definitely recommend to any one looking for authentic southern Indian in DFW
Not my cup of tea Ill try most things or places to eat at lease once
Gave wrong order (language barrier) when i apologized spoke very condescendingly. Then proceeded to give me my food and say whatecer listen better next time.
No one was at the register when I walked in. Other than that everything is great.
The food tastes good. I wish there was more meat in the biryani dish. Anyway, a major concern I have is with a spice. There is an herb that looks like meat and its actually hard. It can be a choking hazard if youre not careful.
This restaurant is hands down the most authentic, delicious, family owned Indian restaurant in the DFW metropolitan area. I’ve visited several Indian restaurants in the dfw area, and none of them compare to Vindu’s. Despite the pandemic taking a toll on many family owned restaurants, Vindu’s restaurant has continued to exceed my expectations in quality, and quantity. I always look for consistency in a restaurant, and Vindu’s has always served me their best. Not only is this place delicious, the customer service is exceptional. They take the time to remember their customers, and engage. Their kindness reflects in the tastiness of their food. I HIGHLY recommend, their Palak Paneer dinner portion; and their Chana Masala, which have been my favorite for the last year. They have crispy flavorful samosas, and rich sauces to pair with. You’d be missing out if you don’t stop by this golden spot.
Ive only done carry out from here. Theyre pretty consistent with their food quality. The butter chicken is delicious and the curries and other dips are quite yummy. Customer service is fair, theyre polite and timely with call in orders. The online delivery is a total gamble in timeliness- but I think its the delivery service that theyve partnered with, not the restaurant. I highly recommend the potato bonda, its pricey but so delicious.
Food was exceptional and definitely hit the spot! My family and I rotate out Indian places to find the best one we like. Weve tried most of the local ones, and even some about 20-25 min away via Grubhub. But this place - definitely our new go-to! We ordered the tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, panner makhani, samosa, garlic naan, and extra basmati rice. Great portion sizes, including the rice! The tandoori chicken came with indian marinated pickled onions, not raw, and were a delicious crunch balance to the chicken. The chicken tikka masala and rice made a HUGE bowl of food that my daughter finished the next day, and the panner makhani- Im a sucker for panner, and was happy that it wasnt tomato-y! Got the mild version, but be forewarned - it has a lil beat of a heat lull towards the end thatll surprise you. Samosa was awesome - came only as one, but it was about double the size as other places, and the flavor and dough texture was on point. Not greasy, but crunchy and chewy at the same time! And the garlic naan! Dont get me started. I could nom on that ALL day! 100% homemade dough and fresh garlic. Definitely a winner!
I like it here, great food & service. food is like a place in baltimore i loved.
I have ordered Idli n medhu vada at 7.30 pm I was so excited by looking at the reviews. But after tasting food felt like morning prepared things served at evening time . I didnt even ate the food just wasted it . I would never suggest this place for any one .
I want to like this place, I really really do. And I keep giving it chances because the food is good. But, every time I order, there’s a problem....and not a little problem, a huge one. Like, I do take out, get all the food home and I’m missing 1-2 dishes, or I get it home and the food was so hot when they put it in the plastic that it’s melted the plastic and soup is all over the bag, or they’ve made it so spicy it’s uneatable, despite us asking for mild, the food takes forever to be ready, etc. But, when it’s right, it’s very good. It’s a mixed review, I know, but just trying to be honest. I’m hopeful it’s helpful to the owners. It love to see the problems resolved.
I had a togo yesterdayWhen I reached home and open my food it was hot and smells good, food is very very goodI enjoyed itAnd I need to tell you about the service ,they are very polite and very respectful they treated me very niceI recommend to every one to try food here I will go back to try other different dishes
Horrible owner, with horrible management skills. He told us never to come back to his restaurant!!!!!! If anyone has any self-respect, watch out for the owner ............. BTW, he claims to have many years of industry experience!!
A very good restaurant with a Telugu spiced dishes we ordered for catering. We have a lot of good comments from our guests and they asked if we had prepared at home. We are very happy with Mr. Reddy the owner. We recommend to anyone.
Had a fantastic experience here with my friend. The food came fast and the customer service is just good. Prices are fair.
Ive visited this place a few times. I like the food here; however, todays service was poor. I came here tonight to pick up my food. I was waiting for awhile for someone to come to the front while I heard someone talking in the back, I had to call the restaurant for someone to come to the front. As I was getting ready to pay for my food, the guy commented on how skinny I was ( no proper greeting) , I told him I was born this way, Thanks! As I was leaving the restaurant the guy ask me how old was I, do I have a boyfriend or am I married, do I have kids and wanted to see my face without my mask. He also ask if I wanted a friend so he can give me a discount on food? As I was walking to my car ( Im inside now) he asks me if I have social media? I told him no and then he gives me $2 back saying you keep this for the bread that I paid for. Like seriously,he should have gave me my money back for my meal since I am so skinny. How rude? To follow me to my car to give me $2 . I felt insulted and harrassed. Do you guys act this way towards heavy set people too and to other customers?
Amazing food and staff very nice
Only thing good about this place is staff. Theyre are undeniably friendly. However, food is too bad. We went for Sunday lunch buffet and food tasted stale. Also, there were only few items. At least this wouldnt have been a total bummer if the taste was good as I am not an avid foodie myself. Utter waste of money for what they give. I donot recommend buffet here. They will have to shut it off unless they improve the quality of food and number or varieties. I hate to give a single star to any of the places I visit, but this place is desperately begging for it.
Even though we got there 45 minutes before close, they continued to bring out fresh food. The service was very nice. We will go back.
I love this place so much. I had a cousin come into town and asked me to take him back here. It has a nice interior.
The food was not tasty and Healthy at all. You can not claim as Indian authentic food. Place need to be more Hygienic. Please test the food before visit.
Omg! The food is simply delicious!, with just the right amount of spice. The hospitality is absolutely wonderful! Nice and cozy atmosphere. Love it!
Mr. Reddy is the best!!
I can say this place does it for me. the service was very friendly and attentive. prices are reasonable i would say. i can see why they have a lot of good reviews.
Would definitely recommend visiting this place. Exceptional ambience, yummy food, fantastic customer service. Fantastic work.
Most rubbish idli and biryani I have ever tasted in my lifetime. Sambar/Curry was tasteless and Idlis were soggy. Biryani was decade old without any taste. Really disappointed. I could not dare to grab second bite just one bite of biryani was enough to scare me off !!
I always arrive grabbing some food in this place. I loved the swift service and well prepared food. Highly recommended.
Very tasty. The staff was friendly and observant. This place has a nice atmosphere.
Best chicken biryani I’ve had in dfw
Nice location to meet with family. Ive had nothing but enjoyable experiences here and plan to keep visiting. I see why this place has so many good reviews.
I used to live next to this restaurant and miss it terribly. We always make a point to eat here when we are visiting in town. The food is hot and fresh, incredibly flavorful, oh so delicious! We usually eat the lunch buffet, but the dinner menu is phenomenal and includes foods from many regions of India. Definitely worth a stop!
Ive been passed this place so many times and now I am upset Ive never gone in! I ordered the Mysore Masala Dosa and Veggie Samosa on Door Dash. I recently went vegan/veg again and was looking for something, and I recalled most Indian food is at least vegetarian if not vegan. The food was prepared quickly, the Dasher got it to me quickly. It was still hot! They stapled my bag shut which is fantastic! Especially with Covid 19 going around, this made me feel secure. And the food is fantastic! I had like 4 different sauces and a soup with the Dosa and Samosa. You can really taste all the different seasonings and spices in the sauces. Im thoroughly pleased.
We’ve been going here for years and always LOVE their food. We’ve tried every Indian restaurant in the DFW and Vindu is by far the best. We always order off the menu because just not fans of buffets in general.Everything we’ve ever ordered here is so good it’ll make you hurt yourself scarfing it all down.We recently moved back to Austin and have sadlydiscovered there is no place that even comes close to Vindu. We went back to Plano a few weeks ago and suggested Vindu to some friends thinking we’d take them out to a great new place. Turns out, like us, they had discovered Vindu years back and have been raving fans just like us!
I love this place so much. Bring your hunger - portions are filling. Feels like a place in Charlotte that I enjoyed visiting.
This place is my preferable site. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to that place. everytime I want to go to a fair lunchon, this place comes instantly to my head. splendid and all sorts of food and a rich menu.well mannered team, and great ambience. And very important, the expence is affordable. I tell about this place with no hesitation.
Reethika was great help over the phone for a takeout order!Good food and calm atmosphere.Lunch buffet if thats your thing.
Delicious well stocked buffet with courteous attentive service. Very spicy food. One of my favorites!
Fantastic food! I eat here every few weeks and Im never disappointed.
Great food, great service, consistent for many years. The atmosphere is very nice and upscale, but theyre not driving you off on the price. Love the buffet if you want to try new things - so much good stuff. Dinner is even better, though - the portions are huge and the food is even better when they make it just for you. Try the mango lassi - so good - and the iced tea, which is strong and dark and delicious. And dont get to the buffet until late - i come early and hungry, and I dont need any more competition :)
Great service and amazing food! Lunch buffet is fresh and offers the perfect selection of Indian options for those who crave it all or those who just want to try Indian food for the first time. The convenient location makes it ideal for lunch or dinner. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed!
This is our go to for fresh, super tasty with the right amount of spice, Indian cuisine... Staffs great and the food... again awesome. Just get here to sample the Best Buffet...
Had a delightful dinner-almost everything was great. The lamb was a little tough though.Young fellow who waited on me was very patient& attentive-made my visit quite enjoyable
I give this spot two thumbs up. Ive had nothing but pleasant experiences here and plan to keep coming back. The bill was fair for the quality of the food.
Ive been multiple times now. Once was during lunch on a weekday for the buffet. The place was packed. While the food was good the selection was very minimal, only a few dishes offered on the buffet. Still, I went back this time on a weekend for dinner. My party was the only people there for the entire hour and a half we were there. It turns out the buffet is only for weekday lunch so the second time I ordered off the menu. The man who served me was very nice and explained every dish he brought. Honestly I was expecting to be made to feel dumb for not knowing about the foods but that was not at all the case. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh and hot, and the service was incredibly impressive. I wont be going back for the lackluster lunch buffet, but I will most definitely be back time and again to order from the menu for dinner!
Food was ok
Would absolutely recommend trying this place. Excellent atmosphere, fresh food, great service. Great work.
Visited twice with my friends and family. Food and ambience is good but really not exceptional. They charge whopping gratuity on buffet for a family of 4, which includes only serving water at your table and couple of good gestures 🤓from the manager while you are having your food. With better options available I will not recommend going more than 1 time👎
It was good. Food was overall tasty and had flavor maybe a little to intense for my taste. There are better options out there.
My family and I ordered like 10 different things, since most of us had not eaten Indian food before. Ive got to say all of us were impressed by every dish! Service was great too. Ill definitely be going back!
It was so appetizing. Had a sister come into town and asked me to take her here again.
Excellent food and service. We had a group of 7 and had a fantastic meal with enough extras to have lunch tomorrow!!
Very nice lunch buffet for a reasonable price. Welcoming staff and good customer service. Very clean and the food was delicious!! Will definitely go again! 😊
Great location to chill, eat some good food. The service here is better than most. It has a cool interior.
Excellent food and service! Buffet is killer. We did menu tonight. Im stuffed like a samosa
We had buffet at this place , menu is disappointing. Doesn’t have many varieties for both veg and non-veg . Food tastes stale and it’s not hot even at 1 pm , staff is good though. Don’t recommend this place if you want to have good Telugu food
Has buffet lunch here on a Friday. The food was good , not very spicy at the same time not bland. Ambience was very good . Staff wonderful and helpful. We had a variety of dishes, both veg and non veg. Thank you.
Vindu is my favorite Indian restaurant in the Dallas area. We have been going here for years. The Chicken Tikka, and Palak paneer are always great.
Food was absolutely fantastic.! They serves variety of Indian dishes, especially Andhra Style in lunch buffet. Quality food with an affordable price (13$ per buffet) with an interesting menu, that was perfectly served by their staff. All in all, a perfect place to dine in.!! well definitely be back! Highly recommended!
Delicious! Service was excellent - very helpful navigating me to dishes that would work for gluten/dairy free. Good prices generous portions. Just the right spiciness.
I love this place. I cant go to regular Indian restaurants because to be honest I dont know the menu. However, I love Indian buffet because I can pick and choose and try different things
I drive from Garland to North Dallas just to get takeout from here. Its the best out there.
The quality has went down in a major way. I’m pretty sure the chicken was spoiled. Price is Higher but food is worse than ever. Please stock fresh food and not two day old items. So disappointing
If you like Indian....go here!!! The spicy food...is spicy. Lamb vindaloo was amazing!!! Butter chicken was flavorful too!!! They try hard on the service, but the food is the win.
Great lunch buffet. Their chicken 65 is the best. We dont come here as often as they raised the prices a bit.
I love this place. Its a hidden Diamond just off the Tollway. The food is very tasty, and it has a very great Buffet! The staff is wonderfull, and atmosphere is calm, cozy and clean. I
This place is consistently great and the staff is attentive and friendly.
I absolutely love this place. It has an excellent lunch buffet and dinner specials that are very economical. Plus, it tastes great. I highly recommend it, if you love Indian food.
I found hair in my food. Not sure why it was there. Only realized this when I was heating up my leftovers the next day so yes I had already consumed some of it. They refunded me, apologized and all but this was totally gross and people should know about this. Maybe an employee sabotaged the place but even so judging from your reaction you already knew something was up. You should thrown away all the food and made it again. Now you have a very costly review on Google. Sickening.
Service treated us so kindly. Prices are reasonable I would say. Feels like a place in Los Angeles I loved.
Indian food. Simple Ambience. Buffet & A-la-carte available. Buffet have a good spread both for vegetarians and non vegetarians. Decent pricing.
Great for amazing dinners, dont expect much for the buffet though
