It is a religious place, two temples are installed here, here the river sits one and God Shiva and another is Maa Parvati, it is a very beautiful place, must visit once. You will experience peace by coming here. Whenever you come here, be sure to visit both temples.
Beautiful views around the temple..
Holy place ❤
The great lord shiv temple locates beside the pious bhagirathi river. Scenario and ambiance of the premises fill ones mind with tranquility and energy. Its between Devprayag & Tehri dam and road connects temple from both side. Almost or more than 800 meters downward on foot distance to cover to reach the temple.
This temple is nice.A temple is the center of religious activities of the Hindus. There is all the time a crowded place and bell starts ringing from early morning as the priests start chanting of mantras as the sun rise. Men and women start pouring into temple and make their offerings of flowers, fruits, sweets and milk. One such temple is the Kali Temple of Kalighat in Calcutta. People from various parts of the country come and visit the temple. Some sing devotional songs and some meditate by sitting in front of the Goddess Deity Kali. On some particular festival days the temple remains overcrowded and a lot of activities can be seen. The temple is illuminated with lights. Devotees come in crowd and the priests are seen busy. Religious discourses also take place and many scholars come to grace the occasion. On Tuesdays and Saturdays special offers are being made. During examination days, students also come in large numbers, and bow in reverence before the goddess Kali, and pray for their success. There is a commotion all round the temple on such days. After all, the entire temple is sacred and holy place for a Hindu and one feels conscious of the presence of Goddess Kali.

Devotees who have faith in Lord Bholenath come here and the revered Bholenath of all the people of the nearby village fulfills the wishes of all the people. The size of the Shivling here is different from all other Shiva temples, it is believed that the size of the Shivling here is increasing by a few centimeters every year.Near the temple is the bank of Bhagirathi, where devotees fill the Ganges water and awaken the Shivling and ask for their wishes.Koteshwar Dam – The Koteshwar Dam is a gravity dam situated 22 km further of Tehri Dam. It is a segment of Tehri Hydropower complex and produces 400 MW Hydroelectricity. The difference is that there is a beautiful replica of Kedarnath temple on one of the tunnels face, known as Shakti Dawar.Koteshwar Mahadev Temple – The Koteshwar Mahadev Temple is in the form of the cave and is situated on the bank of river Alaknanda. Legends believe that Lord Shiva stayed and meditated here for a certain time when devil Bhasmasur tried to kill him. Ganga river surrounds this temple. It was only one day trip -.When I first saw Shiv Linga from the gates. I was amazed and excited. It was too big and powerful. When I spend half an hour I experienced positive vibes throughout my body, and that made me curious to tell about the Linga..The excitement kept increasing because the history of this temple and Linga was different though I cant explain the whole story. Initially, the Linga was small, but with the passage of time, the size and power of Linga increased. When I had words with a priest he said, that the Linga was connected with the Bhagirathi river from the bottom of Shiva Linga. How - When - the question always rises but this is only the power of Lord Shiva.#KoteshwarMahadev #KoteshwarTempleIt Has About 3km Trekking Route..Koteshwar Mahadev Temple, Dagar, Uttarakhand in - Google Maps..Near Koteshwar Dam.From Rishikesh To Koteshwar Mahadev - 97km (4hours).Devprayag To Koteshwar Mahadev - 25Km(1Hour)Koteshwar Mahadev Temple is situated on the banks of two tributaries of Uttarakhand, one Koteshwar Mahadev is situated on the banks of Alaknanda River in Rudraprayag while the other Koteshwar Mahadev is situated in Tehri district, on the banks of Bhagirathi bank, it is believed that when Bhasmasur was blessed with a boon.
