This temple has been razed to the ground and now being rebuilt. Its one of those earthly abodes of Lord Shiva which reason to be despised, thanks to thorough lack of courtesy of the priests- some claiming ancestral rights over the temple and others having been recruited. The arrogance of the priests is due to their and the devotees belief that the former have interactional relationship with the Almighty.😀

The river Ghat is called Gadagadia Ghat.Every year Balijatra is celebrated here from Karthik Purnima for a period of seven days. This year Balijatra is celebrated for ten days.

This place is very renowned Shiva temple situated on the river bank of Mahanadi, and near Famous baliyatra groud. This is an famous temple all accross Odisha. It is the oldest temple in cuttack. The Original Name of this temple is GADAGADESWAR TEMPLE.. There is almost 20 other small temples are situated along with the Main Shiva temple.In the pages of History it is scripted as the Gadeshwara the name denotes to prime lord ( Ishwara) of Gada (Fort). Another historical incedent is added to this is this the place where Lord Chaitanya landed after his water way journey. From here only he started his Journey to see Lord Jagannath. You can see the foot of Lord Chaitanya is worshiped. Every year on the day of Kartik Purnima (End of Nov) this river bank got flooded with devotees to sail small boat in the river Mahanadi a tribute the sailor of Odisha called as Sadhaba Pua. This festival is called Boita bandana.

I love this place and I spend more and more time in this place its a very old holy place and famous for lord Siva people rushes here from all over India during bolbom for watering lord Siva and most of people sit here in the time of world famous baliyatra and here are some other temples like Hanuman temple,maa parbati temple,Kali temple
