Murg Madras was good and just the right amount of spicy. Loved their garlic naan and the portion/size was also on the spot. Not a fan of their Cheese Aloo Tikki though. I appreciate that they refill the water w/o us even asking. We went there without a reservation and just got lucky that there was one table available. There were several who got turned down after us. So i guess reservation is a must!

New to the neighbourhood, we came to Raavis Cumin for dinner and we loved the whole experience. To start with, the service is exceptional (maybe the best we have had so far in Sydney) and the ambiance is rustic yet modern. The menu has nice selection of food, we asked our server for recommendations and ended up trying all she suggested which needless to say was all delicious. The highlight for us was Cucumber Raita which turned out to the star dish of the night (beating the Peshawari chicken gravy we accompanied it with which was amazing as well).Go for it if you are looking for authentic Indian food in Crows Nest / North Sydney neighbourhood.

Not sure whats with so many stars... I took a colleague seeing the stars on google thinking would be a good restaurant. Meals came quick but were just not edible... no flavour at all. Ordered a veg and one non veg from the menu. We paid in full even though barely touched our food. Was so embarrassing.

We had a small company gathering this month at Cumin - only one of our clients was raving about it first. Without a doubt, best Indian cuisine in all of Syd! Impressed with the authentic flavours, fresh food and service was spot on. Definitely a new favourite for us. They can tweak the dishes mild or spicy hot. During dinner time was easy to find parking across. They deliver as well, so now we plan to order in to our office weekly.

Good quality of food, great variety, very friendly staff, amazing atmosphere. The only reason I dont give 5 is because the foods needed more taste. Compared to the original foods I had tried in India and other restaurants, they were a bit bland (of course in Indian food context). All in all, a great restaurant.

Lovely staff lovely food!We ordered murg biryani and murg mirchi curry. Found the biryani nice and rich in indian spices. Chicken in the biryani was seasoned and cooked beautifully. I liked the flavours in chicken in the biryani compared to the chicken in the curry. Also loved that food wasn’t too spicy 🌶!

Being a life-long Indian food lover from the UK, I’ve struggled to find a good curry here in Sydney. Went to Cumin with low expectations, ordered their chicken Madras and was blown away by the taste, took me straight back home (have subsequently tried their chicken tikka masala and, in my humble opinion, its better than anything Ive ever tasted). Superb food with excellent service, have just become a regular. High recommendation

My experience with Cumin Restaurant was just wow. I went there with my friends on the special occasion, friendly staffs and good quality food was the main attraction for us. The additional benefit of this restaurant is that if you have any allergy or have any problem with spices, they will manage to serve us excluding that specific ingredient. I love to visit this restaurant again and again in future.

My new fave! We took away samosas, mango lassi, cheese naan, murg makhani, gosht korma, palak paneer & malai kofta. All curries were very tasty & delightfully not at all over salted like some other places I have tried. I didnt try the naan & lassi but was told they were good. If you pick up they give you a free rice per curry plus a discount. I would order from here again. I have a low chilli tolerance so these mild curries were perfect for me. Staff are very nice. Food was ready in 30min.

Visited Raavis Cumin recently, and was surprised (pleasantly) - clean and cozy atmosphere. Food was not only super delicious, but also very high quality. I am Veg, my husband had chicken and seafood/prawns. Every dish was spot on, also loved the biryanis and naans. Service was flawless, even-though they were busy. Good value given the quality of the food, and authentic taste. (We ended up ordering more food to bring some home.) Definitely highly recommend!

The food was very average...We found an insect on the table and jumped to one of the dishes... the restaurant’s manager quickly got it ... and took the dish away to prevent other customers recognise it...I expexted at least he come to our table and say sorry... but he didn’t...🤬We stopped eating the food and couldn’t finish it...At the exit he only said the door was opened and it was an accident and its out of our control ... too rude ... definitely not recommend it

Food was good, the service by the staff was quick. What I didnt like is that they refused to accept Entertainment book voucher. I understand that it is difficult times for businesses but even we are trying to save money in these tough times. The restaurant was pretty busy as well, plus EB should have had them as deactivated if they were not accepting. I felt it was not fair on consumer end, hence rating them as 2.

This is the best Indian food in Sydney. I have taken away twice now and had the same dish twice with the same stunning results. I’m originally from London where Indian food has a particular flavour. Raavis has captured what’s best in what I remember from London. Highly recommend you try it

Food is of excellent quality and great flavours the beef, chicken and lamb are great low fat cuts which in my experience is rare for Indian restaurants around Sydney, flavours are great and raavis customer service is also really good he is a real gentlemen. Only small issue is the food is slightly overpriced and a card surcharge shouldn’t really be applied to the bill at a restaurant of this price point.

Finding a good and high quality Indian restaurants in Sydney was always a hard mission for us. And one day we found ourselves in Crows Nest feeling like some Indain food. we searched online about some and checked reviews. and we found Raavis Cumin had good reviews. So we waited for 15 minutes around there till they opened at 5:00pm. once we entered the place we found many families with very young kids. which indecates it is a very family and cozy place. And tou can tell how food it is from the number of Uber takeaway orders the we saw while we were there.staff were very lovely. and the manager is a nice person. he made sure everything is ok.in terms of the food. this is one of the best Indian food in Sydney. very delicious and tasty food. the portion were really good. What a lovely place! The food is addictive and the staff is super friendly! I would personally prefer having a more casual setting without table cloths and napkins since the restaurant is great for a casual dinner or a night out with your partner and the food is so homely and comforting that it doesn’t need the restaurant appearance, but that’s just my opinion. And I’d be happy to pay a bit more for the food, it’s authentic Indian cuisine, not overly fatty and the taste is just wonderful, however, I guess charging 50 cents or $1 more for mains would be reasonable. I’m almost feeling guilty eating such amazing food and experiencing outstanding hospitality for such a low price. This restaurant is undoubtably one of the best in Sydney

Think ive visited Cumin 7 to 8 times over the past 2 years, loved the food each time! Have even travelled from George Street to Crows Nest, just cause wanted a high quality authentic Indian Cuisine. Less than a handful offer such high quality ingredients, with very good value. Good to visit as a couple or a big group (def book ahead for a large table). Even when the restaurant was super full, they still gave us the best service they can.Fish & Prawn dishes are super tasty, as well as the Biryani, almost every curry, from mild to spicy (depends how hot you can handle, just ask the staff there for advice). All the naans are fresh outta the oven, aromatic breads?!Raavis Cumin does not disappoint. Good cosy decor. Very good wine selection, and they offer BYOB as well.

We requested Cumin to arrange a legit off shore pop up for our company party. The catering job was SPOT ON! Couldnt be better. We had over 50 of us, and the food was as delicious as when some of us dined in the restaurant. The Paneer and Tandoori Chicken Tikkas were favourite. Samosas and Sheekh Kebab for yummy comfort snacks. Butter Chicken (mild) and Vindaloo (spicy) with Biryani and Naan, we were full, but very happy! With ice cool beer, couldnt have asked for more.Quite reasonable prices, very good value for high quality ingredients. Highly recommend Cumin for all occasions. Amazing consistency, keep it goin lads! Hopefully we visit Crows Nest next month, cant wait :)

The food is good, the ambience is great, however the owners behavior wasnt pleasant.I noticed different attitude with Indian customer and Australian customer. I think when a customer orders starter you dont tell the customer the kitchen closes at 9.30 and you continue to entertain Australians and take orders beyond 9.50.You dont see your watch and time when a customer walks in to the restaurant. Hope the owner becomes more pleasant. Loves the food and may go again.

Really impressed at the service and cleanliness and loved the food quality. Everything was freshly cooked and piping hot, the flavours were delicious and the servings really generous - couldnt fault a thing other than the service charges on using cards to pay - even eftpos. I thought the food was excellent. The Chicken Tikka Masala is a bit different than I have had at other restaurants, but that is not a bad experience, but a nice change of pace. The dishes that I did get were a bit spicy, but I like spicy. I noticed that some of the negative comments were about spice level, but I have not complaints. Naan and rice were very good, service was good and the atmosphere is a bit more industrial, but nice. Overall this is a great restaurant to have a nice meal and enjoy some great food.

This place can look intimidating from outside as the interior is fancy, door is usually close and theres not usually a crowd inside. I decided to give it a try for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by how polite and attentive the service was, even though I was there by myself. Food and cutlery were served promptly and appropriately. Be careful with the spiciness in Indian restaurants in general - when they indicate 3 chillis they mean it. I handled the (extreme) spiciness and relatively large quite well and managed to finish my food as the dish was delicious. Would visit again with others so we can share food and make it less awkward in such a fancy-looking place.
