We worked with Ritu Selects for our blend Hindu / Christian wedding in April, 2019. After visiting several Indian apparel stores in the Charlotte area, this boutique was the clear standout in quality, variety and price. The Owner and Designer, Ritu, warmly greeted us and arranged an on-the-spot consultation, graciously accommodating us during the busy Diwali sale time. We were blown away by her designs and capabilities, every garment in the store is one-of-a-kind! Ritu explained she could also do custom creations which were surprisingly affordable. We worked together over several months to create the perfect outfits for our wedding day; lehenga, shewani, jewelry, dupatta, handbags, shoes, we bought it all! Working with Ritu was like having a fairy godmother who made our every wish come true. Our Indian guests were highly impressed with our couture look, and many of our non-Indian guests were so inspired by the beauty of Ritu’s designs, they caught the vibe and dressed Indian! If you are having an Indian wedding, there is no competition for your ceremonial couture. Ritu is like family to us now and we would never go anywhere else for Indian apparel! I had the most wonderful experience shopping at Ritu selects. I went in to get a couple of outfits to wear for a friends wedding and was immediately warmly welcomed. Ritu then went on to help me pick out some very beautiful outfits to try on as well as offer to coach me on which outfits are appropriate for which event. Being someone who is not super familiar with Indian weddings, this was very much appreciated! I tried on several outfits and found the most beautiful outfits that were all very well priced. I definitely had a great experience and never felt rushed or that there was a sales pitch. I truly enjoyed shopping there and highly recommend.

Great quality at reasonable prices. I had a custom outfit made for my daughter. Ritu told me to trust her and Im so glad I did. The outfit was beyond my expectations! She worked with me every step of the way, with selecting the fabrics and colors, as well as doing the measurements herself. I went to Ritu Selects to get my wedding dress made. Ritu met with me herself and assured me my dress would be done as I had a time crunch. Not only was she professional she also pulled through for such a last minute dress. She kept me updated on the making of the dress and always responded to me in a timely manner and I contacted her often (bride anxiety). The dress itself was perfect more beautiful than I ever imagined it. I cannot thank her enough for making my day so special with a beyond beautiful hand made dress. Might have quality outfits and all, but Ritu has the nastiest attitude Ive ever seen. Even designer Manish Malhotra might be more grounded than she is. She had the guts to tell me that thank god i am opening a store in South Charlotte because there are richer people like doctors and all there. She is very partial and biased, if you know what I mean. So please, if you are buying from Ritu, you can expect nice quality yet expensive Indian outfits but not classy behavior at all. Ritu, if your reading this, dial down your attitude because not all customers will be silent spectators.

Ive been to many Indian clothing boutiques and the atmosphere at Ritu is probably the finest Ive encountered. The layout of clothing is not cluttered, space is well designed, all enticing to make you want to shop there. Ritu herself is an exceptional sales person with an eye for clever designs and coordination. Her prices are the best in the area and she stands by her products.My wife and I will certainly continue to shop for our Indian pieces at Ritu. As a bonus, if youre looking for a bite, right next is now my fav South Indian Restaurant - Chaupatti.

I went in about 6 months ago looking for items for my wedding. I had purchased one of this designers dresses at a show in uptown for dewalii a year ago. Of course, like all Indian clothes I buy, I had to add my own interfacing, cups, and boning and realigned the princess seams. I also had to redo the lining where it meets the underarm. But the design and appliqués were amazing. The store happened to be open while I was at that shopping center, so I went in. I did not know the store is open by appointment. Regardless, the woman at the counter looked at and talked to me like I was revolting and a huge inconvenience to her. She was incredibly rude and all she had to do was tell me its by appointment. I had to look them up to get that info. I promptly left and wont go back.

I thought this store would have nicer selections, I noticed beads broken off alot of pieces and many loose threads. $200-$400 for the dresses I thought we’re atleast $75 Plus The owner was a bit cocky. There was also a weird sign in the back that said no bargaining or haggling.

Ritu is great! I came in to get either a Lehenga or Saree made for my Mehndi. I made my selections and was ready to go. My husband and I decided to scale back the Mehndi and focuses on the wedding day, I asked Ritu if she could make my wedding dress and she didnt hesitate to work with me. We went back and forth on the design, Ritus patience was to be admired. Once the design was finalized, Ritu went to India (not just for my outfit) while she was there she hand picked my fabric for my dress. She did a wonderful job, the fabric was of a high quality and exactly what I was looking for. As the tailors were making my outfit she was very involved, getting updates the entire way through. I was worried about the design but having Ritu so involved eased my mind. Once the dress came in we had to do a few adjustments (my fault). Ritu made the whole experience worthwhile and I would do it all over again. Thanks Ritu!!!

I have never in my life worked with a business owner who has been more problematic than Ritu. After taking payment for my familys blouses up front, before she had produced any work, she proceeded to completely mess up my order. She charged us a crazy amount for the saree blouses. A Ready-made blouse in her store is about $50 I believe. She charged us minimum $90 per blouse. We commissioned two blouses from her.Now we bought the sarees online, and brought her the blouse material to be made. She was very angry that we did not buy the sarees from her and proceeded to insult the sarees that we had chosen saying that it was cheap material. This first reaction should have been enough of a clue for us to not do any business with her.The blouses had to be redone three times and finally taken to a completely different seamstress in order to be wearable. For my 17 year old sister she created a see-through back for a blouse which showed off her bra. This was after Ritu was told that this outfit was for a 17 year old girl who comes from a Conservative Christian background. I do not understand why she made see through clothing for a child, after she was specifically told that we did not want any see through clothing. After we told Rita our concerns she brushed It Off and told us that we were actually wrong. She told us that she was a designer and that she knew best.We attempted to work with her several more times without getting the results that we needed. And honestly her designs were ugly and not color matching to the sarees that we had given her. After I couldnt take it anymore I had several words with her in the store. It was a heated exchange. Instead of being a professional business owner she decided to contact my mother telling her that I had acted inappropriately at her store. I am a grown woman and I do not need to have a business owner contact my mommy for my behavior. I do not know of any respectable business owner who has ever done that.On top of that, in a subsequent phone call that was also extremely heated, her husband got on the phone and begin to tell me off. She also claimed that I could not say anything to her because I was younger to her. Well honey I have some news for you, welcome to doing business in America. It does not matter that I am younger to you. What matters is that you charged me an insane amount of money to make ugly, unwearable blouses. Almost $200 for two blouses. And instead of listening to what the customer wanted you insisted that you were right. You did not provide the customer with what you promised for almost $200.I have never in my life worked with a business owner who has been so incredibly unprofessional, condescending, disrespectful, rude, arrogant, prideful, and difficult. There is much much more to the story but this is all I can type. I would never encourage any person in Charlotte to conduct any sort of business with Ritu.She did refund all of our money. But that doesnt change the stress that she put us through. We also had to find a second seamstress very quickly and pay her a rush fee in order to make the clothes wearable for our function. The function was for my engagement ceremony, the blouse was for my sister and my mother.

Ritu is amazing! As a soon-to-be Indian bride from South Carolina , I was having a hard time finding a variety of outfits in the south for my wedding. I had a certain vision of what I wanted my dream wedding lehnga/outfit to look like, and I wasnt sure where to go to get it made. I found Ritu by searching for Indian outfits near me on Google and stopped by one day to take a look at her selection. Her selection is great, her prices are reasonable, and her sweet personality makes the experience even better. After meeting Ritu, I told her about my wedding and how hard of a time Im having trying to find the perfect lehnga, which is when she informed me that she can custom design my dream lehnga for me. In May, we sat down in her beautiful bridal suite, looked at inspiration pictures I had on my phone, picked out colors, and started the process. Its now September and my wedding lehnga is finally here. I tried it on and it is absolutely PERFECT. The entire lehnga is hand-embroidered and so very detailed. The quality of her work has exceeded my expectations and I cant wait to wear my beautiful lehnga on the most exciting day of my life (in November)!
