My experience was impeccable from start to finish. The transport person as well as the funeral directors thoroughly explained in detail the entire process. The staff was very caring and professional as well. The services provided was excellent. The quality of their work shows the care that they give to your loved one. There was no pressure with the pricing. They were simply the best.

When my mother died, it was the first funeral that I was ever responsible for planning. The Chapel of Peace was very compassioned and took the time to make the process much easier than I expected. The prepared packages that they offered, had all of the items that I was looking for and more. The package that I selected was under my budgeted amount and it was worth every penny. The programs, guest book and video presentation was much better than I expected. Overall I felt as though they were an extension of my family during that difficult time. With no previous experience with planning funerals, I felt that no other funeral home could have done a better job than The Chapel of Peace. This was by far the worst experience I have ever witnessed. I have had occasion to attend two funerals conducted by this company. The attitudes and ineptitude are not the type of supportive, caring, empathetic treatment I would have expected grieving family members to receive when paying for funeral services. The promised live feed and video taping was botched. The family could have and would have arranged for our own remembrance video, but trusted this company. The unexpected death of my son was a very emotional and difficult situation. The Marlan J. Gary Funeral Home- Chapel of Peace made this challenging time bearable. From my first contact with Ms. Jefferson, funeral director, to the culmination of the funeral service, I appreciated the courteous, professional and concerned manner in which the staff addressed our family’s needs. The staff has also done follow-up phone calls to see how our family is doing. They truly understand that service makes the difference.

I’m highly disappointed 😔. when I went for my sons viewing he still had blood on his fingers And on his lips., I guess the embalming fluid wasn’t leaking out his ear, his left eye was partially sealed, the flowers on the casket where wilted and not fresh, the banner on the casket had miss spelling. They lost my cards that where given to the family and when I went to pick up his remains they never filled my necklaces. Now the necklaces came with a funnel and a Small spoon to fill the Urn necklaces. They stated that they only put a dusting in them and don’t fill them up because they can’t close them, now I’ve had necklaces done before they are deep and come with equipment to fill them for a reason and they are deep so that’s just a statement they made up because someone doesn’t want to take accountability for not doing the job. I’m Just very very disappointed.

The funeral arrangements and program for my grandmother Dorothy Terrell were professional, caring and handled with the upmost empathy. I loved the staff, they are patient and understanding. I would recommend their services.

If I could give this place a zero I would. We typed and laid out my sisters program exactly as it was supposed to be printed. On the day of the service, we found at least ten misspellings and unauthorized added words on the program. In addition, at least twenty of the programs were smeared with black ink. The ushers refused to hand them out. This is all aside from the fact that the casket was NOT the casket we chose, and we were not informed of the change. After the service, we attempted to speak with them and requested a refund for the $600 programs(we paid over $11,000 for their services).We were met with a very rude and insensitive rebuttal. We asked to schedule an appointment so my Mother and I could talk it over with the director. After several attempts, no one returned our calls. I will never recommend Marlan Gary Funeral Home to anyone.

From picking up my husband’s body from the hospital to his burial, my family and I was wonderfully treated like we were the only lost in Columbus, Ohio. Marlan J.Gary Funeral Home provided excellent service for my father from the beginning to the end. My father called Marlan J. Gary Funeral Home to plan his own services. A well prepared, informative representative Joe Moorehead came out to his home and met us and answered every single question and provided excellent service. Once my father passed on and we had to finalize services Larissa Jones took over and answered every single question provided suggests and accommodations when needed. He looked amazing just like he was sleep the day before he passed, the work done was just perfect. My father was a U.S. Veteran and was transported to The Dayton National Cemetery by Marlan J. Gary as his final destination and it was an amazing military service. I would definitely recommend Marlan J. Gary as I have no complaints only praises.

The whole staff is amazing very friendly with comfort uplifting words they took care of my daughter Amber Bailey so well she looked so beautiful look like she was just resting good job guys I will definitely recommend their service...

Tragedy is the worst thing to happen to us, but it is a pleasure to have such people as the Marlan Gary Funeral Home to help you get through it. I was devastated, but in the midst of my storm, they took such loving care of my loved one, and more importantly, me & my family. I thank God for their service, they got me through the worst time of my life with their care and professionalism. Thank you all so much.

The staff at Marlan J Funeral Home are great. They were so helpful and showed so much compassion with helping me with the passing of my mom. They were there to answer my questions. No matter how many times I called, they called me quickly and was there to help. Fralisia and Marie always made and still makes themself available if I need anything. Marvin Johnson, Mr. Turner of Johnson Mortuary Transportation Service provided wonderful, loving, kind and gentle service the morning my mom, Trena Michelle Booker passed. As they prepared my mom for transport, we worshipped the Lord. Fralisia was so patient and loving as I made choices I didnt want to make. Marlan, from the time my mom first called you, I trusted you would be here when I had to inform you. Everything, I mean everything was perfect for my mom and my family. I have not one regret. The process was so much lighter for me even though my heart was breaking. I can’t say enough how great Marlan J. Gary is. After getting the runaround from quite a few places in Columbus, planning my brother’s funeral with them was the best decision we made. Fralisia’s calm demeanor calmed us down, as we were quite on edge when we walked in. In no more than an hour, we had what we need for the service we wanted. Their prices are the best in the city, and the staff, even better. Planning a funeral is already super stressful. Having someone like Fralisia walk us through everything, without the first priority being money (you can set up everything and don’t need to pay until a couple of days before the service- even though we had the money, it was great to know for the future). When I leave a place like this, feeling great, with a smile on my face, I know something was done right. Although I hope I don’t have to see them anytime soon, they have our business immediately going forward.
