Good food, the only problem I have is with the authenticity. Very, very homely taste, reminded me a bit of home. Ordered a Day menu, which came with a dal makhni, which wasnt truly a dal makhni, rather mixture of other lentils, the second dish was a subzi, which would still pass as a subzi, the raita was alright, roti authentic, very very home-like, and the kheer was also good but too sweet for my liking. The pricing overall was pretty good. All of this was 8,90€. If you want to eat something which is close to what people cook in India, this place is recommended. Not a place for authenticity purists though.

Authentic Indian cuisine, with a twist of Ayurveda. The decor is pleasant as is the background music. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Food was a little bland and under spicy for me, but was perfectly cooked. Next time I visit, I will surely ask for extra chilli. Price was average and the dessert almost like mum makes it.

I would recommend this restaurant to everyone who visits or lives in Cologne.This place reminded me of a good vegetarian restaurant in my hometown in India. The food was delicious, the staffs were really polite and the restaurant is really kept clean and smells amazing with the scents of incense sticks. We ordered Aloo paratha and Malai Kofta as the main course. The Malai kofta was the best one I have had in any Indian restaurant in Germany. We also ordered Nimbu Pani(Lemon juice) Indian style, which was really refreshing too. And finally, as dessert, we ordered the 2 varieties of Barfi which they prepare themselves at the restaurant. Both were really tasty.I do not live in Cologne, and I came across this restaurant by chance during a visit, and it has been a delightful experience (also since it is generally difficult to find authentic Indian food in Germany)

Absolutely delicious! Very good variety of rice and curries on offer for the lunch buffet - 3 curries, dhal, pakoras, papadums and dip, raita, salad, and two kinds of dessert (khir and halawa) too! Clean and pleasant surroundings. Very home-style kind of food. I’m a huge fan of vegetarian Indian cuisine, and this is the best I’ve been able to find on my trip to Germany!

5 stars are not sufficient to rate this gem of a place. As a vegetarian, its very rare to see a pure veg restaurant outside India.The unlimited food at 8.5 euros on weekday afternoons is a blessing. All the items tasted great (Bhindi subzi , rajma, soya pakoda, plain and fried rice, kheer,etc.).There are sufficient choices for both vegan and vegetarian items in the menu. This is a must visit place for veg food / Indian food lovers.

Really nice and caring staff. The food was very good and not so expensive. We also had a delicious dessert!The menu lets you know if the dishes are vegetarian or vegan, or if a vegan option is available (most of them are vegan anyway). It also tells you if it contains gluten.The place is also a small grocery shop selling tea, food, books and jewellery.

Being a Lacto-Vegetarian this place was a good option as it serves only Vegetarian food.The food might not have all the many spices...But overall tasted nice...Also you can buy some masal, food items typically available only in Indian Stores

We went for the all-you-can-eat Mittagsbüffet, but I found it to be rather disappointing. The price for value is simply too high (8,90EU) as the food was too bland. There were 3 main dishes to choose from and 2 kinds of rice. Yet it was all simply missing a lot of flavor. I did love the dessert!

A fantastic vegetarian-vegan restaurant here in cologne. I go here often with my vegan Stammtisch, and am never disappointed by the variety, quality and speed here. Real, fresh ingredients are used in every dish. Food is prepared fresh daily. And their weekday lunch buffet is amazing: a huge variety of high quality food for €8.90. Great stuff!

We went to Govardan after looking for Vegetarian food in Cologne...The restaurant was quiet, the owner is adorable and the food was really good. Cherry on the top: the bill was very reasonable. A must go!:)

A great restaurant in a non-prominent place in Cologne, which is why its easy to overlook. At Govardhan there are mostly vegan, but also vegetarian dishes. The lunch buffet is cheap and varied. The staff friendly and courteous - what more could you want? A great place!

I was only here around 8:30 p.m., got a great menu, very tasty and very friendly service. Pleasant music and nice fragrance, makes it very pleasant to stay. I ordered the Yogi Chai in vegan and the Palak Mix Masala. And now something to take away :) come to the buffet in any case and will warmly recommend the shop to my acquaintances, especially in the slow time by Corona, it is important to support great shops!

It was alright to visit the store. Everything was very neat and clean. The staff was very friendly and you did not have to wait long for drinks. Unfortunately, I found the lunch buffet a bit dull and due to a food allergy I could not try two dishes. It was delicious but surprisingly little choice. I was hungry after all. For the price - performance ratio was right and if I consider it as a small snack for lunch it was okay.
