Visited Nov 2016 & Jul 2017. Pics attached.My previous visit was in summer, but on this trip during the monsoons it was much better. Also a road was being built right to the top. On my previous visit I took the steps from the Someshwar Mandir. OK place to visit, great view. If you want to trek there are some paths up too.

Its very old place but not as much to watch now its to late there is no guard or watchmen to restrict you you can visit any time but at night might horible no light its on the top of hill you just enjoy greanary only

I loved that place all time, Govalkot fort is a pearl of Chiplun citys history, in monsoon season that fort looks very beautiful with greenery and river view, And near to ground level of this fort, the goddess of Chiplun city Aai Karanjeshwari Temple placed.

If you come to Chiplun must visit this place its also known as Govind gadh theres also Devi kajireshwari temple located on the entrance, you can see toff or ballistic weapons on fort theres also one ole ponds on top.

At a distance of 10Km from Chiplun and surrounded by the river Vashishti. This Fort is spread over 2 acres. 1960 Shivaji Maharaj won this Fort and renamed as Govindgad.

Also known as Govindgad, this fort is an easy 10 minute climb up. The view of the Vashishti river from the fort is incredible. The fort also houses over 11 cannons, an old Redjai Devi temple, and some remnants. Definitely worth a visit!

There is nothing on the fort. One thing that attracts this fort is the river view. The vashishti river view from this fort is mesmerize. Cannon are there on the fort but covered and fort walls are in good condition. Easily reachable by two wheeler till top of the fort.

Plan your visit in monsoon time. As there is necklace type River around the fort it would be awesome view in monsoon. There are few canons on the fort apart from that only side walls are there. Its a small fort.

A dilapidated fortress, few cannons used at time of Shivaji Maharaj which still exist today. It is situated on top of a medium hillock. The hillock is located on an island which is surrounded by vasishthi river and its tributaries. This spot is very near to Sri Parasuraman Kshetra, about 3-4 kms on the Mumbai Goa Highway towards Chiplun. After crossing vasishthi river and Konkan railway line take right and then first right. The steps to climb to reach top of the hillock is situated on back side of Devi temple. First visit the Devi temple and then fort. It has a decent parking space for 4-5 four wheeler or a mini bus of 30 seater capacity. Devi temple itself is a small temple not visible from main road. Just after crossing crocodile point, take left of Y junction. After some distance take right on the Y junction.

Theres nothing in here. Dont get fooled by the reviews. Only thing u will get is not so good roads and settlements all over. N theres hardly any bricks of fort left. U will find some rusty tope and thats it. Although the view from top of fort is great. Not recommended.

Though nothing much left on the Fort to see, the 360° view of River and surrounding area is breathtaking. This ancient fort was built by Siddi Habshi of Janjira in 1690. When Shivaji Maharaj won this fort, it was renamed as Govindgad. Currently there are about 10 Cannons restored on Fort which were used by Maratha army.

It was Nice place for tourism but not now.Now there is a huge pit is created due to Earthquack.So its risky to go there for Childrens tour
