Ive been a customer of Erics for 5 years now. Ive had him alter work clothes, formal dresses, and everything in between. His alterations are the highest quality, and everything always comes out exactly right. Hes a master of his craft and Id recommend him to anyone.

I had to find a tailor and quick. Id purchased some clothing to go to Vegas on a girls trip. The items arrived late, 2 day before my departure. I had been dieting for the trip and now the original sizes Id ordered was too big. After reading the reviews, this was a tailor I felt I could trust, and luck be a lady tonight, he was.My tailor was as upfront with me as I was with him. Id explained over the phone EXACTLY what I needed and when I needed it by, and he told me to come in that he MAY be able to work with me. I suspect people in the past has said its one thing and want much more, but I no intentions to play with his time, because I didnt want him playing with mine.I arrive a short time later, took a look at the garments, he got me pinned up and agreed to make the alterations I needed to get my garments back the SAME DAY🥰!! I picked my garments up when they were ready, and the alterations were PERFECT!! To be honest, I cant remember how much I paid because I was so pleased with my results, cost was not an issue. I ten toes down recommend this tailor!! This was my first experience with him, I love his demeanor, the profession work he does and hes gained a customer for life!! I have 2 coats for repair, you have one guess where Im going...😁

Eric is a master at his craft. I have been going to him for alterations on sport coats, pants and shirts. His work is always top notch.

Mr. Boasmond is a master at tailoring and has a sharp eye for fit issues. My items have come back fitting perfectly and on time. He is also as honest as it comes and I trust his judgement. In fact, he has told me that my items fit perfectly and dont need any alterations. He would rather give up business, than do alterations that didnt need to be done. Skilled and honest. Highly recommended.

Eric is the best ket secret for tailoring in Chicago. Humble and soft spoken he is a true master of his craft. I came in for a blazer that concerned me because of how much it needed to be “brought in.” He assured me he can do it and I requested for it to be in pristine condition. When I arrived to pick up, it conformed to me just right and it was symmetrical in every way with no deviation of error. Unbeknownst to him, I had gone to 3 different tailors for the same tailoring only to be turned down. This is the only tailor I will ever see for as long as he is around. He’s a true master and the care and precision in his work is noticed. Kudos Eric, you earned a life long client! I’m referring everyone I know to you.

This review is long overdue! I have been coming to Eric for over three years and he always does an outstanding job! I refer all of my colleagues and friends to him! The workmanship is impeccable and he always has my items ready on time -- he has even called me to let me know if they are done early! He has altered countless bridesmaid dresses -- some of which have required moving a side zipper on an all lace dress. With so many places in Chicago - Im so glad I have a tailor I can always count on! Look no further and bring your alterations here!

Professional work from Eric every time. Hes always given me the exact fit Im looking for. Only one time have I needed something altered twice and the second time there was no charge. It can take some time to get your items back. I chalk it up to quality work taking a little extra time that is well worth the wait. Highly recommended.

I have now taken several suits and pants to Eric at The Tailor Shop and have been incredibly glad with this choice. Not only is he incredibly experienced, has an amazing eye for detail and attention, and is very nice and friendly, but he started tailoring when the field was filled/saturated with European tailors; starting at this time allowed him to learn from some of the greatest everyday tailors and absorb their incredible skill and techniques, all of which he continues to practice today. Is he pricey? Compared to dry cleaners tailoring, yes. Is he worth every penny? Absolutely!

I just got a long zipper on a long winter coat. This guy is the greatest! Im so happy and grateful to him as I wont be cold anymore.

Been going here consistently for awhile now. Have had four suits adjusted, top coat taken in and multiple pairs of pants and shirts altered to fit better. Always like the place, found the work to be fantastic and the fit is perfect on everything. Price is a touch higher but I dont mind the premium knowing an expensive suit will turn out great. Dont even try the stuff on anymore after alterations because everytime Erics nailed it.

I needed to have the sleeves shortened and sides tapered on a BB Black Fleece shirt and tried Tailor Shop based on their strong reviews. In terms of fitting, they really nailed it...the shirt fits almost as well as a fully custom shirt now. In terms of workmanship, could be a bit better. The factory stitches per inch on the non-altered steams are much higher than the altered seams, and there were a few loose threads that had to be cut here and there. It also took over 2 weeks to have this done whereas Ive read in most cases this takes a few days. And price for what I requested (considering the workmanship noted above) is a bit on the high side at $45.

If you are like me and know NOTHING about the art of Tailoring, Id go here! I have two blazers that were too big in the waist and boom $35 each to taper in, which is great! I was lowkey expecting to pay like $100 for each or something (again no idea about Tailoring and pricing) but the gentleman is very nice and I was pinned and out in 5 mins.

California visitor arrived to 40 degree weather with broken zipper on his coat. Walked in....then out the door all fixed in 10 minutes! Awesome!

He saved my favorite leather coat! For ten bucks and in three hours, he was able to avoid replacing the full zipper and its in great shape.

Great work, have been going to Eric for a few years now. No problems, and a great guy.

Not the cheapest but had 6 pairs of pants altered. Quality work and they were done on time. Would go again for other items.
