Nice, clean office in the heart of downtown. The office staff is amiable and can work with quick adjustments to time scheduling (though there is hardly a wait for your meeting with Dr. Burgess). Love to see a hard-working and intelligent dermatologist such as Dr. Burgess, herself! Over the case of 3 visits and the doctors prescriptions, my facial acne has almost been completely eradicated.
Im so happy I have found the right dermatologist for my skin. Dr. Michele Burgess is the best.
Dr. Burgess is the best. Very kind, understanding. Takes the time to listen and answer your questions. I never feel like I’m being rushed out the door, or that shes trying to line her pockets and rush patients out. I’m blown away from the experience. I’ve only had cosmetic injections done here through Dr. Burgess, highly recommend her all around.
One of the best dermatologists in the Chicago area! She’s done a few things, from cosmetic injections to helping me with my adult acne. My last appointment was last Thursday at 2PM, I was seen within 5 minutes. I never have a problem when it comes to wait times here. They don’t seem to overbook and respect my time which I absolutely love.
Had a great experience with Dr. Burgess. She takes the time to explain things, I never feel rushed. The front desk was just as nice. I didn’t have health insurance, so they were able to work with me seeing I was cash pay. No BS doctor, and would recommend.
WARNING!!! DO NOT GO TO LOOP DERMATOLOGY! PICTURES OF MY PERMANENT SCARS ARE ATTACHED TO THIS REVIEW. I went to Loop Dermatology 2 weeks ago for the first time to discuss mild acne since coming off of birth control. One of the treatments discussed with Dr. Burgess was laser hair removal since she suggested that it would shrink the sebaceous glands, and control the oily skin. That same appointment, Dr. Burgess, performed the laser hair removal on one side of my forehead. After the 1st zap, Dr. Burgess said youre responding well, so Im going to turn the machine up. Within 1 minute, she laser half of my forehead and I was wincing in pain. She immediately applied an ice pack, and once she removed it, she said, Im going to need to give you a cream for the oozing. WHAT!!!! I immediately when to the mirror, and saw that I had a quarter -sized wound bleeding, and 12 spots that were blistering. Ive had laser hair removal on other areas many times, and have NEVER had a reaction EVER!! Within 1 day, my entire forehead was swollen and oozing from 12 blisters. Within 40 hours, my entire left side of my face was swollen, to the point that I couldnt use my left eye. I called the office and left over 4 very urgent, serious voice mails. Dr. Burgess called me back 3 days later. By that time, I had to consult my primary doctor who immediately be put on antibiotics for the infection that was created by Dr. Burgess. Ive had to miss multiple day of work, let alone, face the world with open wounds. Now, two weeks later, I have gone to another dermatologist, who has sadly informed me that I will most likely have these scars for the rest of my life!!! I still have oozing wounds. I still have a bandaged face. All of this permanent damaged caused by Dr. Burgess. I went in to discuss mild forehead acne, and I came out with scars. PLEASE! DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. Pictures attached are from 24-hours post procedure to two weeks later.
I had an absolutely horrible experience. I saw Dr. Burgess a few times with no major issues. Every time I paid my co-pay and asked if there was any additional balance, but was told they would invoice whatever the insurance didnt cover. My wife and I were out on a vacation in a remote location when I received a surprising voicemail from her office stating there was a balance due (from a couple months ago) and if it wasnt paid by the end of the month, it would be sent to collections. The end of the month was also just 24 hours later. We were only gone for less than a week, so I asked when was the first time the invoice was sent because I never received one. They said it was sent just last week, which I couldnt believe what I was hearing. I re-confirmed that the first time the invoice was sent was last week and that they are threatening collections with less than a days notice and all she said was would you like to pay your balance in full. That alarmed me as I keep my credit impeccable and would pay any balance immediately. I would have felt a little better if the invoice was lost in the mail, but the fact they admitted to sending the invoice less than a week ago and already threatened collections is absolutely ridiculous. Furthermore, after calling back and paying the balance in full, I asked to speak with Dr. Burgess to alert her of what happened by her office but was told she was with a patient but would call me back right after her current patient. No phone call back and the unnecessary threat of collections has ruined my vacation. I cant believe how disorganized and unprofessional her office is. I didnt even receive an apology when I spoke with her office.
I had a positive experience working with Dr. Burgess. The staff is very friendly, I had a minimal wait time and the office is professional and welcoming. When I was seen by Dr. Burgess, it was a quick experience, no BS and I was on my way back to work, all while my issues were thoroughly addressed and I never felt rushed. Highly recommend!
I think Dr. Burgess has a very steady hand and did a great job with all my injections. I think shes has done a really great job with my injections.
Dr. Burgess is wonderful! I’ve been coming to Loop Dermatology for a while now. I always feel the doctor is very thorough and I never feel rushed when I come here. She’s very detailed when it comes to mole screening. I feel she’s a great doctor when it comes to diagnosis and treatment of melanoma.
I have been going to Dr. Burgess for many, many years now and her staff is always friendly and very detailed with their work. I feel their very professional and always welcoming. I’ve had cosmetic injections done here a few times now and I’m pleased with the results. Plan on revisiting in the near future.
So I made an appointment last week For a consultation regarding a cosmetic laser procedure. I informed the receptionist that they didn’t accept my Medicaid insurance so I would be paying cash. Received a phone call today from the office informing me that they have a policy that states they can not accept cash payment from Medicaid recipients. Now this is totally ridiculous but I don’t mine taking my money elsewhere. 🤷🏽♀️ If you plan on going here and need to pay out of pocket for a service due to being out of network dont waste your time they turn down cash.
This review is long overdue! I’ve been seeing Dr. Burgess on and off now for several years. Since under her care, I’ve seen a huge difference in my appearance! Struggling with adult acne has always been a big problem from me, but I feel a lot more confident with how I look now since seeing her. Would recommend this place!
I feel Dr. B is a kind soul, very thorough and genuinely cares about her patients and their treatment. As a person who had acne problems for 20+ years, I always felt a bit embarrassed and I’ve tried many different options. I’ve been seeing this doctor for the past 5-6 months now and she stands out from the others in the area. I’ve tried so many different things but only here have I seen the results I was looking for.
I recently had fillers done by Dr. Burgess and feel her expertise in facial aesthetics stands out from the rest! I feel she genuinely cares about my concerns and I never feel like I’m being rushed in and rushed out like I’m some sort of number. My latest visit, the lady who worked there offered me water even without me asking. This place delivers results and seem to really care about their patients. A++
Chicago has way to many dermatologists, but this place stands out from the rest. I feel this place has an awesome service, it’s not to expensive and I’ve seen a night and day difference in my problem since coming here. I’m 32 years old and have always struggled with acne problems since I was a kid. My skin complexion looks a lot better since under her care. I love their service and would recommend this place to anyone who might be struggling with acne problems!
I’ve been seeing Dr. Burgess for laser hair removal. I’ve been to a few other dermatologists but she seems to be the only one I’m seeing results with. I’ve had about 5 sessions now and the whole process has been both painless and I’ve seen results. They deserve 10+ stars!
Dr. Burgess is the best! I’ve been going to her for over 5 years. I had mild acne on my chin due to birth control and she’s the only dermatologist to actually ever help me! I went to other dermatologist before that couldn’t fix the issue, with 1 visit Dr. Burgess she knew what the problem was and I’ve been acne free since! I even moved out of state and still take the 1-2 hour drive to see her for appointments!
Can’t say enough good things about Dr. Burgess! Whenever I come here, I always leave with a smile. I feel she’s very good at what she does, would recommend.
Michele Burgess ruined my face, and I dont mean this as an overstatement. Years ago, she treated me for an sebaceous cyst on my left cheek that wouldnt go away. She injected me with an obscene amount of cortisone (which I asked her about at the appt, as she seemed to lack expertise) that created a large deflated crater after the inflammation healed. I went back to her office to consult with her about this HORRIFIC result and she so rude to me to my face that I still remember it like it was yesterday, and she was not helpful in trying to help me fix the poor result that she had caused. I could tell by her demeanor that she did not care about me personally — Ive had to live with this throughout my 20s and have suffered from depression in part because of this. As I have aged, its gotten even worse and more noticeable. The size of a quarter, center of my cheek, looks like a chunk was taken out. I just found her business card in my old wallet and thought I should provide a review so that other people can be notified about her shady ways. I hope NO ONE ELSE has to go through this type of trauma created by her amateur services. DO NOT trust this doctor - look at her Yelp page!
I decided to go to Loop Dermatology about a year almost a year ago in May 2018. I needed a new dermatologist after having recently moved to the city. I was nervous about finding a new one because I had a very trusted dermatologist in my suburban home town who I was used to. I also hadnt needed a dermatologist since I was in high school because throughout the end of my high school and entire college career I was luckily acne free with birth control. However, when I decided to come off of it my acne came back even worse than ever before. I was so defeated and couldnt believe it was all happening again until I found the before and after photos on Dr. Burgesss website and made an appointment. She immediately reassured me that we would find a solution and we did! I used creams and antibiotics until I was ready to start isotretinoin (accutane). Making the appointment and listening to her suggestion of accutance was the best thing I ever did. She helped me get my skin under control last summer and then start my accutane journey this past winter. Now, in April 2019, I am on my last month of the process and I havent felt this happy and confident with my skin in 2 years. She is knowledgeable, understanding, honest and straight to the point. All of the girls in the office are so sweet and helpful. Dr. Burgess is always on time for my appointments. I have nothing but good things to say about Loop Dermatology...although the goal is to never need to go back!! lol I think Im on that path. 10/10 recommend.
I went yesterday. I was my worst experience at a dermatology office. Ive had vitiligo since I was 3 years old. Dr. Burgess didnt even really take in a thorough look at my skin for that or in regards to my concern about my acne breakouts on my face. She was with me for 5-10 mins. She prescribed me medicine and didnt really explain what they were and how to use them. I went to go pick up my prescription and talked to the physician in the consultation area about the topical creams that Dr. Burgess prescribed:One was supposed to be for my vitiligo and the other for my breakouts. According to the physician, one was for ECZEMA and the other for acne ... I will never go back and do recommend this place for anyone with skin diseases especially vitiligo. On a positive note, the office workers are very pleasant.
I have been seeing Dr. Burgess on and off for a few years regarding my adult acne. I’ve been to a few dermatologists, but shes always my preferred doctor when I’m in the area.
