I ordered a chickpea bowl with brown rice and red chili sauce. I appreciate that the red chili is actually spicy. What I like even more than the chickpeas is the chicken and lamb. Also have to mention that the lady who served us was really friendly. Great spot to go for a quick bite before a play in the theater district!
My co-workers and I love stopping by here for lunch. We describe it as Chipotle for Indian food.Common dietary restrictions are listed easily to see on their menu, and the staff is fast and friendly. I would recommend letting them know if youre getting fries at first, since that takes a tad bit longer.
Good Indian fast food place, try the lamb plate! Fresh Indian food with a build your bowl option. Vegan options and friendly staff.I tried the lamb plate and it was alright. The lamb itself was a bit dry so I recommend asking for more sauce. The flavors were strong and very lamb-y which is good. I got the hottest sauce, vindaloo, but it wasnt very spicy. I am pretty use to spicy food, so my bar may be higher for spicy. The vegetables are fresh and have a satisfying crunch to them. The naan was pretty average, pretty flat. I think not processed, made in store but just made in bulk and left out too long.Overall decent place, unique Indian fast food, probably will come back when Im the mood for Indian and need something quick
Delicious, delectable, delightfully titillating tastebuds!!!Lamb, white rice, Madras/Korma, mixed veg toppings and finally minty cilantro chutney and...Lamb, quinoa, Vindaloo/Korma, mixed veg toppings and minty cilantro chutney! Both served with a 7 naan bread and chai...What a delightfully tasting meal. Filling, invigorating and inspiring with all symphony of flavors going on.The service is friendly and the decor/utensils quite creatively simple. Tends to focus the senses on the tastebuds, and theyre having a ball!Definitely the place for a quick, but high flavor meal. I signed up for rewards, because I will be earning them in the future.Thank you Naansense, for a no-nonsense approach to good food!
I was only in town for a day and read about this place. It was awesome! Nothing special inside, imagine an Indian spin on subway but SO MUCH BETTER. Beautiful soft Naan wraps, your choice of chicken or lamb and choice of spicy or mild sauces plus salad. I also got the Marsala spice fries. If youre looking for a quick tasty lunch go and try this place!
Take out plus with a new take. All the Indian flavors with none of the fuss. Silly name but no nonsense superb taste for custom made combos while you wait. Always tasty sides to add to your sandwich, rice bowl (brown or basmati) or salad. If you are in the area, dont miss out. Friendly staff make your experience complete.
The service was friendly and sociable. This place has an awesome feel to it. This place has many good reviews for a reason.
Absolute favorite Indian place in river north. Food is so tasty and very reasonable. I love the chipotle style ordering and their corn is fantastic!
4 to 4.5 stars. Pretty much what you would want from a place like that. Fast and nice service, generous servings, food is tasty and there are enough good options to good form. Really liked the chicken and the different curries and Chatnies. In order to get better Indian food youd have to got to a sit-down restaurant. However flavors are as good as some sit-down places I have visited. Overall I really recommend.
Amazing vibes and very personal service. The meals were fresh and yummy. Will easily recommend this restaurant to friends and family. Convenient rates and big meals. Great job.
Great little place for Indian style fast food. Love the lamb and the mango lassi.
Brilliant service and food! Highly recommend chicken with Tikka and the Indian croutons! Their strawberry banana drink is really refreshing as well. Overall, must visit!Update: The place is also peaceful and spacious, great place to chill and enjoy your food.
Good food fast service! Love it.
Good food, great flavor. The entire place smells like freshly cooked spices. A new and fresh take on Indian food bowls which is very much needed in this game!
One of my fav spots to grab a quick bite after a workout! Portions are insane. Food is tasty. Service is phenomenal. Im a fan of the consistency! Thank you!!
I tried this place already with a friend and I am obsessed since then. I love the fantastic atmosphere and delightful food and beverages. I recommend this place.
At the first moment you enter that place the waiters give you a pleasant feeling. Very warm waiters, it is a good restaurant to hang out with buddies or with your date. enjoyable meals, qualified chef de cuisine, competitive pay and nice service. Warmly recommended.
The food is regularly well prepared and tasty, employees gives awesome service. I like the cleanliness and character. I highly recommend this spot.
I love love love this place. Their sauces are amazing and their fries are my favorite. They’re seasoned and have this yellow sauce that comes with them. My mouth is watering thinking about it. Highly recommend it.
Naansense makes me so happy! Wonderful customer service especially from Dane! the food is always amazing the atmosphere is comfortable! Everything is perfect it make you feel welcome and at home and the food good you will leave with a euphoric feeling!
Best place in the loop to get legitimately spicy food. Get the red hot sauce on a bowl for great flavor and spice. Wondering when they will start selling the red hot sauce in bottles.
So many tasty options! I would eat here all the time if I worked downtown. The lamb was probably not worth the extra charge, will try a different protein next time.
Amazing food! Seating is limited so be ready for take out during the lunch rush is what I have heard, but we easily found a seat. Even with a long line to order they move quick. Super friendly staff, fantastic food, decently priced for the loop. Highly recommend! Tons of flavor, all about the sauces.
I really enjoyed this place! My train pulled into Union Station three hours late, and I hadnt eaten all day so I was famished when I found Naansense. It doesnt taste like the Indian food I regularly eat, but that was a good thing. Very fresh, just right portions, excellent ginger ale, and they had a 50% off promotion for dinner. I would definitely come back!
Filled me up in no time. I will be bringing family next time. This place has a great atmosphere. They have a lot of great reviews for a reason.
Food was good, but they didn’t have what I ordered online. I was disappointed they didn’t have what I ordered, but I appreciate them trying to accommodate. Food was good, but they shouldn’t offer things online if they can’t stock it. Despite the friendly customer service, probably wouldn’t go again since it’s not worth the walk when you can’t trust that what you ordered will be there and I still had to wait for them to make the bowl after ordering it in advance.
I simply love their food. I always get good service there. The place is well organised and the staff members are always nice. Will come visit again.
These guys are so legit! The food is awesome and really well priced. Totally recommend. I hope they go national and bring a shop to Tallahassee!
Delicious and fast service. The staff at this location are great. My favorite is to get the chicken quinoa and kale bowl with coconut based sauce. Their mango lassi is yummy treat.
Happened upon Naansense based on some online blog reviews and thought wed give it a try when we were in town for a weekend. Stopped by around 11:45, and the line was out the door! Lots of local college students and business people, so we knew it must be good. The service style is best compared to Chipotle or Qdoba. You choose what type of meal you want (naanwich, rice bowl, etc), which protein you want, sauces, and extras. Its very reasonably priced and the flavors are delicious. Im hoping this concept catches on and the stores spread!
Love this place!!! Very friendly staff and amazing food. Best food Ive had so far in Chicago!! Was a bit worried I wouldnt be into the Indian vibe but now Im fan!!. This is a must stop in the city for lunch! Many complain about the seating so it youre going in a large group be prepared to eat it else where but totally worth It!!!
Its just fantastic. Gets busier at lunch hours with long queue but still worth it.
I tried their kale+quinoa salad with lamb and chickpeas for protein, spiced coconut sauce, diced tomatoes and cilantro. I don’t like kale, but I ordered it based on their employee’s recommendation. Very tasty and I was surprised that I liked the combination!! Great value for money. I will definitely come back.
My fiance and I refer to this as Indian Chipotle because it feels similar, in its own delicious way. You can make a rice bowl and add whatever youd like on top of it. Im particularly fond of their hottest sauce. The only thing keeping this place from being 5 stars for me is that its not open on the weekend. I always want it on Sunday nights!
Good food, vegan options. IF you have nothing else TRY the Masala Fries! Regular fries in Indian spices with a mustard and spice dipping sauce!
Good lunch option in the Loop. I liked the flavors and really appreciated the fact that the vegan options were well-labeled. The decor and vibe is casual and quirky. I dont think there were tables larger than 2 seats, so not great for a group. I will definitely be back.
Always enjoy getting a rice bowl and masala fries from here. They always make each order of the fries fresh! Employees are friendly as well.
Great concept for Indian/Pakistani fast food. Good pickled onions. Very much a student hangout, which makes sense given the low prices. If Im on a tight schedule and crave Indian food in the future, now I know theres an app for that.
Fantastic concept- Indian street food served in Chipotle style. Authentic flavors and fast service. A sure shot winner!
The food is good for the price, but I dont recommend ordering online from this location. Typically, orders are estimated to be delivered within 1 hr. It took them over 2 hrs to deliver my meal!To make matters worse, when the meal arrived, I opened it up and it was the wrong order! Doesnt get much worse than that.
Naansense is my goto Indian restaurant whenever I need to satiate my taste buds. Their sauces are just amazing specially the Madras (Spiced Coconut). The naans are cooked to perfection and the food has always been lip smacking. The restaurant Manager and team is just amazing and they leave no stone unturned to ensure their customers are happy. They change their menu regularly to ensure they cater to wider group of people. It’s definitely a must dine restaurant for anyone who wants something quick and satiating.
This spot is good! Reasonable pricing, considerable dishes and the staff members are regularly very nice.
Order for delivery quite often - food always arrives quickly and fresh. The Naan tacos are amazing... but the masala fries are not to miss. The flavor is indescribable, salty and sour. Love this place.
I love the food at naansense but lately they have reduced the quantity drastically. I went there because it was a filling meal but now I have to buy sides too. I am looking for other similar places that has good ingredients and good quality
The only redeeming offering from this chain is their masala fries. Otherwise its just a sad Indian themed Chipotle with gross sauces and dry proteins.
I like it here, great food & service. The service was sociable and attentive. The bill was fair.
The place opened just 2 weeks ago and I had a chance to talk to the owner while having my lunch there. I loved the place with the great Chicago art inside. Very clean and stylish. Food is delicious: very simple choice and really really good. Cant wait to have my next lunch here. They also promised food trucks coming soon!
Food is so good along with amazing quality. The staff is also very friendly. This is my go to spot for quick delicious Indian food!
Great lunch spot, though its a bit pricey. I love all of their sauces, but lamb + Madras is my absolute favorite.Naan tacos are great for a good lunch without feeling bloated.Curry fries are fantastic, but definitely a shareable size.
Heres the thing: if you are looking for authentic indian food, yummy spicy greasy, you will be disappointed. You might give this place a 3 or 4 stars. If you know what this is before walking into it, you wont be disappointed. It is healthier, less greasy, not so spicy but still using authentic spices and flavors, a tad white washed, and that doesnt always work with some eastern foods, but here it works. The food tastes pretty good, it is fast, you have healthier options if you will. This place saved me when I was on a diet and craved indian food. The portions are a little small for my liking but I really do love this place, and they have some hot sauces that give your dishes an extra kick if you please. I am no stranger to spices, I grew up w/ south asians/desis and go to devon often. You may find me at naan on devon or sabri nihari. This place is not on that level of authenticity but it tastes pretty damn good! Must stop by
Whenever Im in this area of the loop I make sure to come here for lunch. Its like the chipotle of Indian food in that you build your meal! The food has never disappointed me, and pricing is fair. I wish there were more locations!
A perfect place to get quick bite that satisfies partial of the indian food cravings. The flavor is good, its like the indian version of Chipotle. The reason for 4 stars is their hours, I really wish they were open on weekends.
This is by no means great Indian food but its pretty good Indian fast food. Chicken was juicy and tender. Ive been before and Ill be back
The do a classic bait and switch. I wen tin to order the lamb dish which was priced the same as the beef and when I go to the counter they told me it was 2 dollar up chargeIf something costs more they should price it on the menu that way not tell the customer at the last moment just before they are ready to order it
Good concept but it didnt work for me. May be they need to have more choices for curry sauce.. stir crazy style setup might work better
Not very Indian beyond the name. The veggies are not cooked in the sauce as they use a make-your-combo model. In my view this negates Indian slow cooking with spices, which makes it tasty. Meat options may be better. Didnt try.
The restaurant is nice and India concept. The lamb and chicken served are organic. There are a lot of varieties of menu to choose from.
Food is great, customer service and being in contact with delivery services on the other hand this company is inept. I waited for an hour and a half, only to be informed that the restaurant was closed early. More respect for the people that give you money please.
Good food, quick and clean
Really cool place and a lot better than I thought. The red got sauce was amazing. The chicken couldnt have been more tender.
Tasty and delicious Indian fast food. Good job guys.
Food is delicious! And fast! You can customize to get exactly what you want. They also have very spicy sauces. I love it!!
Enjoyed the fast-food style Indian food that they serve here. I would love more variety, but its pretty good for what it is. The one thing that they could do better is make fresh naan, instead of using frozen ones. Otherwise, I would go back for sure!
Good experience. Decently priced. Food was flavorful.
Delicious Indian food with tons of vegetarian options. Great atmosphere, though parking can be a challenge sometimes.
I gave Naansense 5 stars for their ability to balance price point, food quality and service. The food here is amazing and fresh The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. This place is a great option for lunch or a quick dinner. Pro-tip for those on a shoestring budget: Order one rice bowl with EVERYTHING and ask for extra naan.
Delicious food, nice staff, quick, cheap
Food is very tasty, portions are good-sized, and the staff is some of the friendliest people in the loop. This is my favorite place for lunch.Make sure you get there before the rush if you want a table; I always end up taking it back to my office.
I like their rice bowls and wraps -- again its a relatively inexpensive choice when I am craving some Indian food. Would not recommend the mango shake, its definitely not real mango and tastes strange.
Delicious Indian flavors.Fresh naan.Good sized portions.
This place is fire. Amazing food always fresh. Keep it up guys. Very friendly staff also
Place is kind of small and located at not the best location. otherwise service was nice. food was good. prices are less.
My experience is based on takeout only. The food is quite good, especially for a fast-food take on Indian. I usually get the Chicken Korma salad with extra veggies, which is very tasty.
WowVery good concept with Indian themeWe tried chicken and mutton both. Naans were fresh and both meat were tender. The chettinad sauce(I guess ) was little more of tomato flavored but I liked it.Also kids had option for potato wedges so they were happy.Give it a try for sure when you visit the city
I really like this place. Its a bit like an al fresco deli for Indian food. Service was good. Food was good, but the naan wasnt fresh and was pretty dry. Ill probably return the next time I can.
Great place for tasty spicy Indian food
The tacos are so good! I love the concept of the food, the flavors, and how quick it is.
Fresh! Literally and figuratively. Delicious Indian fare, full of fresh ingredients, carry-out or dine-in this hip spot under the tracks... Naansense definitely gets a spot in the weekly lunch rotation. Its that good... :-)
Really nice place to eat and relax. The food is amazing not to spicy just great flavor.
Great place and food!
Ordered takeout for someone else. They loved it.
Very good and surprisingly very filling.Definitely go back
Great Indian food in Chicago! Its like an Indian version of Chipotle. The rice bowl with the green chutney is amazing! Must try
I really like Naansense and their bowl and infinite combinations you can make. I really like their chicken and farmers cheese for protein. Vindaloo (Level 4 Spice) is really spicy even for me. I prefer spiced cocunut which is moderate. This place is like Indian Chipotle but worth a try.
Amazing concept and even perfectly executed. Ive tried a few options and theyve all been a bit .. Id definitely recommend this place for a quick lunch.
Definitely try the poutine, its fantastic. Most chaats are fairly authentic too.
Pistachio Kulfi was horrible taste .. it was powdery and icy instead of being milky. Staff were so rude about this and denied that it was because of pistachios. Worst Indian ice cream made here. Although naan tacos were good
When I found this place, I didnt have huge expectations. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. The store itself is pretty hole in the wall and small, but the service is fantastic and fast. If you enjoy Indian food, I would suggest going there. It is surprising the amount of flavor they can get despite the service being so fast. It is similar to a subway or chipotle feel where you go along, customizing your dish. I got the chicken naan tacos with madras sauce and the masala fries. I am excited to go back!
Excellent restaurant! The food tastes good. Good price.
Its almost like a Chipotle for Indian food. You can pick your rice/salad, a protein, a sauce and then you get a little bit of salad on the side with a dressing of its own. Plus a naan bread (which was super soft!). Its well priced for the area and the flavors were quite good too!
One of our favorite lunch spots. Indian food done Chipotle style. Pick a base, pick a protein, add some toppings. Better for take out, since seating is a little cramped.
This is a lovely place to have lunch. The staff puts their best efforts into making and deliving quality food and the music isnt so bad either. Btw, 👍to the staff. I hope you guys keep up the great work.-💎
Really delicious fast-casual Indian-ish food, the samosas and the chicken tikka tacos were awesome
