Very flavorful food! A lot of your dishes will have lots of different tastes all in one bite if you pay attention which I love. Portions are small unfortunately and so dont expect to leave on an empty stomach unless youre willing to spend around $150 or more. That being said, Im a big man so maybe itll be less for you! Regardless, my dish recommendation would have to be the Pork Belly Skewers and the Rice with Salted caramel dessert. Holy cow were those two dishes absolutely amazing. Please do yourselves a favor and order these two things minimum!

This place is the best!!! The service was outstanding. Even though it was very busy on a Friday night, the staff was smiling and very friendly. Amazing service from the host, the bartender and server. The cocktails are delicious. The dishes are small and shareable, and full of flavor. We loved our experience. Highly recommend!!

This place definitely gets a spot on the repeat list. Top-notch food and excellent service come together to make this a wonderful gem that wont leave your wallet groaning. While Im not much of a cheese connoisseur, my girlfriend was very impressed by their cheese platter. Everything hit the right mark and the salmon tartar was our favorite of the night. Our server was very friendly and the wine staff had all the answers to our questions.

The best tuna tartare Ive tried in Chicago River North. The interior is very cozy and appealing.I recommend seating as close as possible to the entrance because the HVAC cant keep up with the fumes when its busy.Everything else is great!👌💯

I didn’t know that I was missing Spanish wines and pintxos in my life until I stopped in for dinner/happy hour last night.Amazing happy hour offerings plus a solid regular menu with an overwhelming number of wines available.Crispy artichoke pintxos and pan con tomate with jamon Serrano were my favourites of the night.

Best hot toddy Ive ever had... also best mushrooms, and everything else was amazing. This place really knows its garlic butter... not that should be a selling point, but Id go back just for that alone.

Probably the best and sweetest people I have met during my travel ever. Take care of you. And to top it off, great food and drinks.

This place was wonderful. The staff was quick, welcoming and gracious. Table and people were placed socially acceptable apart during this pandemic and the staff made sure we knew the rules of the restaurant for masks. The food was amazing, reasonably priced and came out faster than I had expected. Not to mention, the perfect size to share between the 3 of us at our table. The host and our waiter checked on us often and made sure we were well taken care of. Even though we did not have any alcohol tonight, they had an amazing bar that was fully stocked and included many excellent wines. It was an amazing space, would go back and highly recommend to anyone.

Awesome bar and restaurant. The host was very welcoming and nice! The waitress was patient with us and gave great suggestions for vegetarians as it was our first time there. We ended up getting the spicy potatoes, toasted goat cheese, and the tomatoes with olive oil, amazing food. We also had wine and sangria. Highly recommend!

This place is amazing. Super cute and the service was friendly and fun. Everything we ordered was delicious and we wished we had an extra night to go back and try more things. Definitely a place we will return to next time we are in town and will recommend to others. Great for a date night!

Have only sat at the bar, but really love this place. Really great happy hour with $7 glasses of wine and a free tapas bar (really simple snacks but very nice that it’s complimentary). Bartenders are always great and they pass the purrón around the bar which is fun. Tried a couple tapas which were delicious, will definitely be back to try more.

Great Spanish style tapas and wine bar. The complimentary snack bar during happy hour is also a nice plus. Definitely get whatever the daily rice dish is as it is an interesting take on Paella crosses with fried rice.

Tapas / Wine Bar with a fun, energetic atmosphere. A large selection of wines by the glass (and bottles as well) and a very nice sized menu of small plates. Our visit was on a warm summer night and we were seated by the open front windows. Our server was very friendly and helpful, and we were welcomed by the manager as well. We shared six plates between two people. Each was reasonably priced, and very delicious. Well be back for sure.

The restaurant did not honor our original reservation because of overbooking from limited Covid seating and a miscommunication. After writing a complaint about the experience, the GM contacted us and invited us back. We dined at the restaurant Oct-9 and the food, wine, ambiance and service were all outstanding. We really enjoyed the montaraz jamon iberico de bellota and ham & cheese combo board. I look forward to dining at Bar Ramone in the future. Thanks again

Had an enjoyable couple of hours here. I didnt realise it was tapas-style until we sat down, but I made the best of it. Props to the owner for the decor and vibe.I also liked how there was no dedicated host/hostess, which likely means youre not overpaying for the food and drink to supplement their wage. We were greeted immediately and sat just as quickly.

Some places just have ‘it’, and Bar Ramone is one of those places. Nothing crazy special or different, just a great, classy wine bar without any pretense. Can’t say enough about the people that work their! Over the course of an hour I had great interactions with no less than 5 people from waiters to bartenders, and everyone was awesome. Will definitely be back!

On a Sunday afternoon/early evening the staff was friendly and attentive. Happy hour wine prices and free snacks were great. Tapas were good and fairly priced. I got to hear the English Beat and the Jam. Would return.

Bar Ramone is one of my favorite bars in Chicago. Ambiance, food and wine are great. Chef Alex made an amazing custom sauce for us and the bartender made a great wine recommendation.

After exploring downtown Chicago for a week, I can say this is the best food I’ve had there. Try their pork belly and got cheese if you visit. I can’t wait to visit this city again!

I was very disappointed. The service was very slow, the waitress took 15mn to come to our table.Besides that, the dishes are every small compared to the lot pricing. I admit that the taste is very good, but still, paying 20$ for 50g octopus is far from fair pricing. Same goes for all other dishes...Besides, the dishes did not arrive in the right order. We received a main dish, 2 appetizers, another main dish, and then later another dish, with 15mn in between..The meat dish costs 25$ and has also around 50g !

What an amazing restaurants week experience at Bar Romane! Thanks you to our wonderful server Christina and Chef Alex for making the whole evening a true blessing. We loved every dish and enjoyed the wine pairing with the dishes. It’s like traveling to Spain without having to go too far. This restaurant has a fun atmosphere the kitchen is working in total harmony it’s beautiful thing to see. I say I can’t wait to come back to dine at Bar Romane. I recommend the burger with fries,and lamb meatballs. The glass porron wine pitcher with white wine everyone should try. Their chocolate mousse off the hook with some forfeited dessert wine it was a match made in heaven. Fabulous night and we will Love to come back again bring more friendships.

Do not wait for a table the lead times are not accurate. The host will give you a wait time but there’s no telling when a table will open. We were given a 90 minute window and it far exceeded that. Can’t speak to the food but definitely will not be returning we had no problem waiting but when several parties were sat in front of us and the host admittedly told us we decided this was a total disregard for their customers. Fortunately there’s many more places to choose from just a few steps away. A place who has no regard for their customers time is not worth the wait.

Bar Ramone hasnt even been open a week and Ive already been twice! I love this new spot! There is something for everyone on this menu - both food and wine. The wine list is approachable for any wine drinker, with many choices you wont see anywhere else.The ambience is warm and inviting (with great lighting!). Somehow this small wine bar worked equally well for a quiet catch up for two and a great night out for a (not so quiet) group of friends. The service is excellent - the servers were ready with great recommendations for food and wine (if you ask). Sadly after a few attempts, I have yet to master the art of the porron (the magical vessel meant for pouring wine directly into your mouth). At least this gives me another excuse to visit again!

Visited Chicago for the weekend. Of all the restaurants we visited, this was our favorite. We were there on a busy Saturday night, but service was still outstanding. Food was amazing. Will be back for sure when we visit Chicago again.

I just tried this restaurant for the first time last night and it became an instant new favorite. Our server took her time going over the menu with us. Outstanding service. We got the cheese board, brussel sprout salad, avocado, and papas bravas fries and they were all delicious. Interesting wine list. I’ll definitely be back!

I am super happy that LEYE opened a tapas restaurant in this location. The decor is great as it the wine selection. However, I wish the menu was a little broader, although most everything we tried was very good. Also wished they offered carafes or pitchers of sangria and included a classic sangria. Loved the Artichoke pinchos. Their special paella was surprisingly tiny and would not order again. Rice pudding and the Orange/Caramel Flan was very good. Cheesecake was a little burnt.

Delicious food, a little overpriced but its a wine bar in River North so, you know. Happy hour has a few good options at the unlimited snack bar. Wine is really good, the xl patatas bravas are amazing. Meat and cheese platters have a decent selection but again, severely overpriced.

We weren’t a huge fan of one of the dishes, the scallops. We expressed our disappointment to the staff and the manager, Alec, was very understanding and considerate in hearing out our concerns and addressing them. They have work to do on the menu but the service was great.

Little more on the expensive side, but worth it. They have a fantastic selection of wine and the food was expertly prepared.

It isnt bad but it isnt great either. There is also some funk with the staff. They dont seem to like getting along with each other and they dont go out of their way to help guests or fellow staff members. Chicago in general doesnt have a bevy of true wine bars and this one doesnt get close to the likes of Websters, Rootstock, or Red & White. I also find it to be WAY overpriced for what you actually get. My wife and I had two glasses of wine apiece and the meat and cheese platter (which was great but small) and our bill sat around $125. We popped around to a few more places and then ended up having a full dinner at Avec and whole bottle of much better wine and our bill was $135. We wont be back to Bar Ramone anytime soon.

I visited Bar Ramone last weekend with two friends. We ordered the pan con tomate - classic, toasted goat cheese, local mirai sweet corn, patatas bravas xl fries, garlic shrimp, lapryor farms beef burger and butifarra spanish sausage. Everything was just fantastic and my friends even ordered a second order of the toasted goat cheese. Our server Kristina was great and very friendly - we told her it was our first time in Chicago and she spent some time chatting with us about our trip and the things we had done. Shortly after, the manager, Alex, came over and said he had heard it was our first visit and he brought us the blistered shishito peppers on the house as a welcome (they were awesome and it was a much appreciated surprise!). We also ordered the green beans but they were out, so Alex offered to give us another dish and suggested the shaved brussels, which he also said would be on the house. We were blown away by the fantastic service and the great food - it was easily our best meal out of our 5 days in Chicago. The restaurant is also very cozy and stylish and has a great ambiance. We sit down at our outside table. We order the happy hour red (delicious! great deal!) and the server points us to the free snack bar (!!!) full of focaccia, roasted peppers, and popcorn. As we wait for our cheese plate, the sommelier approaches us with a complimentary appetizer of olives and wishes us a good meal. Have we reached cloud nine? Wait for it. The charcuterie was to die, as was the ginger sangria to wrap up our foodventure. Waiting for our bill, the server mentions that we should download the lettuce eats app for their summer scratch off promotion. We do so and win $25 off the bill. The evening is kismet ✨ we leave full of love, wine, and happiness, eager to return.

I loved everything about this place. The shrimp with watermelon, patatas bravas, marinated goat cheese (the menu’s descriptions were more detailed and interesting than mine). Great atmosphere (they got the lighting just right — flattering but still able to see everything); and it’s buzzy without being crazy loud. And the wines were spectacular, as you’d expect. I’ll be back.

Gabriella gave excellent recommendations on wine. I was leaning towards a chablis and she had me taste a 2003 Alto Andige chardonnay. I generally only drink chablis when it comes to chardonnay, but I was pleasantly surprised how pleasant the oak was with the higher level of acidity and maturity in the wine. The braised short rib with parsnip puree was next level and paired well with the nebbiolo I had first. I will be back and highly recommend Bar Ramone for any occasion.
