Fantastic food, great prices, and excellent service. The best Indian in the town. Would recommend to anyone, don’t be put off if they’re quiet during the week either. Top notch food, even when compared to other restaurants in nearby cities. Will come back time and time again. Just remember to bring alcoholic drinks if you want to as there’s no licence for sale.Keep up the good work guys! Really well done.
Had a lovely meal which was the tastiest Indian that we have for some time. Very friendly staff, good menu.Highly recommended.Only down side was the coke was not ice cold.
Very disappointing visit. We saw the good reviews on here and thought it seemed a decent enough restaurant but I think most of those reviews are older or regarding the takeaway side of the business. So we arrive and the host/waiter is wearing a baggy top with jogging bottoms.. A tracksuit in a restaurant, really 🙄 the chef is also sat around so clearly not busy, the waiter also plays loud videos on his phone whilst you are sat down. The restaurant itself is very tatty looking - perhaps in between a renovation but if not then I would really not regard it as a tidy place to eat. The paint around the fireplace is messy, there is white filler all over, scratches on all the chairs where they have rubbed up against the red walls. There was about 3 tables setup, with no one else dining and yet he proceeded to seat us at a table where there was a free standing radiator plugged in, to the point where we had to climb over it to just sit down which made no sense at all!The cutlery and most of the pots etc used were not clean and the food itself was very subpar.. We found bone/gristle in the chicken, and generally it was just not a good meal, perhaps one of the worst dining experiences we have had. Shame really, we love to try new places and explore the local businesses but this is one we wont be revisiting.
The food was juicy and the portions were good. I recommend you get a tandoori mixed grill. P.s. my grandma likes the food 2. The staff are really nice and imagine giving this place a bad review
An Excellent meal at Desh, good attentive service and very reasonably priced.
Lovely food, great price...this is my first time ordering from here, but wont be my last! :)
Took advantage of the Govt discount on a Wednesday. Although the restaurant looks very basic it is clean and the food was excellent. Two great curries, Nan Bread to die for. Salad on starter a little sparse. Excellent friendly service. Take your own drinks.
Decided we would go here rather than our usual one which is also in the high street. From ordering to collection wasn’t too bad as only took about half an hour, but the food let it down. The curry had less chicken than a McDonald’s chicken nugget and was mostly sauce. The side dishes were small and the naan bread was tougher than an old flip flop. Think I will be going back to our usual one.
Management is amazing, first time arrived. Excellent service. Nice and clean. Would highly recommend. Good discounts given too!
A variety of different dishes ordered for takeaway, everything was very enjoyable
Always cracking food, excellent value and friendly service. Hands down the most authentic Indian in the area.
I want to preface this by saying if it was based on the taste of the food it would be rated higher. However, the whole experience at Desh was a bit of a disaster. We had a table for two booked for 7 but re-arranged for an earlier time of 6:30 and was told that it would be fine.Upon arrival at 6:20 we informed the barman of our arrival and he went to check for a table in the main room. Nothing was available so we said we dont mind waiting. Something which we had not yet realised was going to be a recurring theme for the night. Two more couples arrived around the 6:30 mark and had nowhere to sit and wait as people waiting for takeaway orders were blocking the door and sitting on the other couch. At 6:40 the barman came over and asked us to come with him as he would be taking us upstairs to eat. I wasnt aware they had an upstairs dining area but went to follow. But just as we got to the first step another waiter (presumably the head waiter) grunted at us to return to the foyer with the other two couples. He then gestured towards another couple to go upstairs instead. Confused, I told them that we had also booked for 6:30. The head waiter didnt respond and instead the first waiter apologised.Five minutes later the first waiter came out again to ask us to follow him upstairs again (it had become apparent at this point that they had overbooked the half 6 slot) and either way there was not enough room in the main room for any of us to sit there had there only been one couple booked in.When arriving upstairs alongside the other couple we were directed into a room that had previously been used as a function room. Still with drinks bottles and empty cans and crisp packets around the room, the tables were still sticky with food and spilled drinks. I had to move rubbish from my seat to sit down. The waiter then left and came back 5 minutes later with no cutlery or wipes to clean the tables and took our orders. I asked about the pickle tray and he said (which I thought was a joke) that they had no mango chutney and instead were using red sauce. So instead we ordered a mixed starter and a curry each with a naan bread. The food arrived an hour later and was tasty, we did receive our starter after our main course though. We ended up leaving the restaurant at about 8:20.I wasnt ill the next day but my partner did complain of a poorly tummy.
Absolutely Brilliant, wouldnt go anywhere else. 5☆ restaurant.
Got an excellent takeaway from here. Good hot tasty food at an amazing price.
The best Chicken Dhansak I’ve had in many years. Also, really friendly and professional service.
Good food but always forget an items
Good food, friendly staff, I will eat here again.
Food is fantastic. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
Friendly staff and nice food. Bit too much heat in my tikka jalfrezi for my delicate palate, but the lamb was tender and nicely cooked.
Very good place to eat, biryani was very tasty
Having lived in Bradford for 10 years I had been spoilt with fantastic Currys. This curry house is easily as good as those big Bradford places. The staff are lovely and they make you feel genuinely valued.
Fantastic curry! Lovely staff and not badly priced!!
Wow, what an amazing freshly cooked traditional Indian meal. Will definitely be back when in the area again.
Nice food and service very friendly and reasonably priced
We have been to desh a few times now, mainly to eat in. Taking your own alcohol is a bit weird at first, but good. The food has always been good, if I had to criticise something it would be that the spice level is underwhelming, by that I mean that a hot dish isnt really that hot, and the mediums are not spicy at all. . . . But that said - the taste is all there and all good. The most delicious naan breads I have had.
Lovely food chic mAkani bit sweet waiter over the top but fab
Very nice food and can take your own beer 👍🏽
Ate in the restaurant, great food and can take your own booze
