They provide a help desk at the entrance where patients along with their attendant should fill in the form regarding covid-19 and thier appointment details. After that, they put a wrist tag to patient (orange) and attendant (blue). Only the patient and a single attendant can visit the respected doctor, no others are allowed since the covid-19 and also due to more vibrant of patients in and out. They took a clear check up and are good in EYE surgery and medications

Medical Research Foundation helped many more in the society Dr. SS Badrinath (people call his assistant Chief) a great man behind this noble services.Name the specialty in ophthalmology, Sankara Nethralaya will be there for sure. Only thing there will be long wait time, please bear with it, all staff are so courteous. My Father underwent 2surgeries here. People at different branches of Sankara Nethralaya are well maintained places with all infrastructure. Except wait time, you can very well experience their services for sure.

Sakhara Nethralaya is a hospital for EYE.Its a place where lot of people come for there eye treatment and really its a very good eye hospital.I told good eye hospital because I went there for my daughters eye treatment and initially the took 600 rupee for appointment and after that i need three times visit several doctor but they not take any charge. And after full investigation they give the final treatment within 600.And all doctor and nurse are really very co-operative to solve the problem. They take time how much its need to solve. So, if you want to visit the hospital for treatment then you need the appointment first and visit hospital according the date and schedule time. Thanks all member of the hospital to provide good service.

Where should I start? Having to wait for more than two hours before the doctor arrived or the doctor not even sparing me 5 mins to listen to what I have got to say or the doctor not even providing ensuring privacy of her patients?I have a repeating case of eye allergies. And Ive been to their emergency care more than once, only for the doctors there to be rude and just prescribe some random drops again and again. I thought getting an appointment would ensure some level of care and sincerity. But no. After paying 700 rs. this female wasnt even willing to listen to what Ive got to say. I brought previous medical prescription, which had heavier doses than the onces she prescribed on this visit, which she didnt even look into. She gave away some less effective drops after insisting I got the same during my emergency visit and it didnt work. But worst of all, she said my symptoms didnt exist and that she cant accept it and refused to provide proper treatment.Next, the door was open. For all the patients. I dont know how others see this, but it irks me. Anyone could peek into the consultation room and could hear what was being spoken about. She didnt even ask if its okay to leave the door open nor offered an explanation for why it was open.We paid for the consultation which apparently didnt happen.Even if it were a free treatment, you dont get to disrespect the patient. So, Ms. Mammta Agarwal, if you dont want to be on the line of service, during such a difficult time like covid, I can understand. So please step down from your position instead of wasting our time. You just denied me proper diagnosis for your personal reasons.

Unfortunately without reading review we went there. As faced by many, after getting appointment have to wait for 3-4hrs to meet the doctor. If you know some higher officials/senior doctors in hospital, then you can meet the doctor quickly which i noticed during the wait period. If you have really full day just to do eye check up, you can go here. Still not sure about end result which you may get from others review. Absolutely no parking for visitors, you have park your vehicle in near by public parking.

Worst experience ever. Doctor in the emergency department was very rude with a 6-year-old boy(patient). They dont even have the least bit of care and concern towards the patient. The doctor shouted at a 6 year for not cooperating for the checkup. He is just a scared kid who was forced on the chair by 4 strangers. How do you expect the kid to react? Would the doctors behave the same with their own kid? Theres a way to treat patients especially a kid! I was forced to give that one star because theres no other option.

I am suriyakala My MRD no is 2895616 . On 27/1/2020 we booked appointment with Dr.Pramod Bendre Retina Specialist for second opinion. He told no treatment can do for my vision problem only need to go with low vision test and told to review him if necessary. So on the same day we booked appointment for low vision test on 8/2/2020 but due to some financial problem we changed the appointment to march month. But the lockdown started in the March month so my appointment cancelled then we were tried calling each month from April to August to get appointment but they are telling low vision clinic not yet opened. Today 7/9/2020 I called to appointment session that person is telling again need to go review with doctor Dr. pramod Bendre . In last review itself he told nothing can be done only options is to go with low vision test and review if necessary then why we need to waste our money for going on again with doctor review. We too middle class working hard in this covid time to make money. If it is necessary we itself go for review with doctor but nothing can be done already told then why we need to waste our money. I am very fed with your appointment staff attitude and speaking harshly with patients and getting money as patients are rich and they getting money from tree branches. Even Middle class also come to your hospital try to understand everyone’s situation how we can spent again Rs700 for doctor review with no use and Rs750 for Low vision test. If possible Give us Low vison test appointment on 19/9/2020 others wise no problem any reputed eye hospital available in Chennai we will go with that. I visited Sankara Netralaya Medical Research Foundation, Nungambakkam yesterday and the experience was terrible. Dr. Richa Dhiman whos a Cornea fellow there. She was rude and disrespectful to me and my 75-year-old grandmother whos also a patient. After waiting several hours they took a few tests and sent me to Dr. Richa Dhiman. After the completion of check-up I needed to know if theres any increase/decrease in my eye sight so I mentioned the date of my previous appointment and requested for the prescription in any form(hardcopy/softcopy) possible. She asked me what do I need it for and I explained. She couldve replied politely instead she asked me unnecessary questions and started mumbling. She then denied to give me the current prescription also. Not to mention she rolled her eyes and responded with Ill not give, go go.. what can you do? and tried to shush me. It wasnt just that, she also treated my grandmother poorly with no respect at all telling her to stand up from her wheel chair and all. Such unprofessional behaviour cannot be tolerated. It made me wonder if this is how she treats all of her patients. We paid rs. 700 each for consultation alone and she acted as if shes doing charity. Education alone isnt enough, she needs to learn some manners and hospitality first.Other staffs were decent and one optometrist in particular were very polite and kind. Although, cant blame the entire hospital for one staffs behaviour. Dr. Richa Dhiman is such a disgrace to the hospitals reputation. Its due to few ill-mannered staffs like these, the hospitals name and rating goes down.

Hospital is good. I didnt think of any other hospital, I visited for my Mother and we had to wait for a long time, Treatment was great. Let me explain the other things.1) My initial worry was time - I Spent from 5.30 AM to 5 PM . I will add steps on how to reduce this.2) My second issue was Parking for my car. - They have basement parking, Basement 1 is mostly for doctors(around 25 to 30 cars can be parked). Basement 2 is for visitors and we can also park around 25 to 30 cars. When I went in around 5.30 AM, there were no car in basement 1&2, But I was told to park in B2. Throughout the day I was checking and there was parking available all the time. So, Dont worry about your parking. How to manage time. - Online appointments are the best, you dont have to wait for a long time. But you will have to know which dept to go and Doctor details and all, Otherwise its painful.Offline appointment. - Reach the hospital by 5.30 AM itself. They start giving tokens by 6, Get your token, (mine was 8). then fill the form as soon as possible, dont even wait for a Second.Go to Counter 8, there will be a small display that calls in order. that guy gives an option if you want to visit their other branch hospital( I said no), He will update your details and then your name will be called for payment. (they always want to make sure, if this is your first time or not)Now in counter 7 they will call your name and you have to pay 600. Now this time also there is a token system, (mine is 35) because I didn know about this.now some BSC Optometry practitioners will take your forms from counter 7 and read out your name, Around 7. you have to follow them to floor 4. The they will do through checking(for an hour) and also explain your issue to them. then they will send you to counter 9 again. they will send you to the right counter now as per your issue( I had to go to 12).Counter 9 might give you some drops, (just once, twice or sometimes thrice) as per your issue. Here is where the pain starts, Even though I reached that counter 12 by 9, I had to wait till 1PM to visit the doc(Priority is given for all the Online appointments only) then only offline appointments are allowed.the doctor checked throughly, then explained well, then I had to go to counter 9 for eye drops (thrice 15 minutes wait time for each drop) then had Lunch and then visit again(had to again wait for long time) because of online appointments.Canteen was really great. food was nice and well maintained. I went on a busy Saturday and lot o crowd was there. Staff there speak multiple languages, So dont worry about that issue.

I got appointment through emergency and DR. checked my eyes & patiently listened to what happened. My problem was my vision was blur and faded when I see thru left eyes. Emergency Dr. Clarified that there are some spots in the cornea which could be a reason for blurred vision and it should go away with medication. Later, I was referred to DR. Mamta Agarwal (Cornea Specialist) and she does not want to listen anything. Once, I entered she told; let me check the vision and certified after usual checks that vision is normal & existing glasses are good. Does not even note which eye I had a problem. I asked why I am not able to see clearly through my left eyes she told I Dont know but vision is good. I did NOT take appointment for getting medically fit certificate for joining work (or) for medical insurance qualification. Empathy: 0 Sympathy:0 No listening and probing the problem. I asked rest of the opthamologist and other Drs confirmed spots on my left eyes and you are telling Cornea is clear ? Response was I am Clinician and my decision is final.

The hospital is always crowded and the staffs make sure to address all patients but still some of the patients lose their temper and shout at them. Please remember an eye check-up is not like a common viral fever where you get some tablets and move on. For an eye check-up the eyes needs to be dilated several times before you see the doctor. Obviously it takes more time and people/patients needs to understand and be patient.
