One cannot miss the majestic Clarion Hotel located on RK Salai. I have personally heard so much about the hospitality and service of the hotel, and had quite the expectation of my meal here as well. I was invited for lunch by a friend, and we were a group of 5. The place had quite the mystic ambience, but I felt it was too dim and that lighting could be improved. Our service was a tad bit slow that afternoon, and I managed to grab a quick bite of all their starters and some soup. Their Veg and Mutton Shorba soup was extremely filling, and the quantity was good. It was a hot afternoon and I was really looking forward to some starters - but I was not satisfied. A wide variety of starters were presented to us - Some sheek Kebabs, reshmi kebabs, fish fry for the non vegetarians. The Reshmi Kebab was prepared with slight changes by the chef, and was a lovely surprise - as it initially didnt look as appetising! Thoroughly enjoyed the Aloo Tikkas and the Mushroom Gallouti Kebabs, with the perfect tangy mint chutney to go along with it. Could not stay back for main course, but heard that the Biriyani was enjoyed by the rest.Overall, I would recommend quicker service and better presentation of the food, that would greatly contribute to a happier and more satisfactory meal!

Whenever we come Chennai, we prefer to stay at this hotel as its within our budget and more than that its a prime location of the city, easy for restaurants, malls and hospitals. Cauvery hospital is nearby 24*7Regarding the hotel stay the good part is that the room is clean, but then the water scarcity, you will see only few drops coming out from the shower even after many requests from receptionist, water heaters wont work well most of times, have to deal with the chill water when the climate is cool. Split aircon across the room. Morning breakfast is good and variety for south and north Indian dishes but be with the said time. Good park facility for 4 wheeler, room cleaning service is satisfactory.

The experience was good. Staff and management were courteous enough to allow us a late check out at around 2. However I found the break fast average as there was less variety for North Indians. The staff was really nice. We had little issues with the Room TV. Rooms are big enough and spacious with all modern amenities. Thanks Happy Travel.

Clarion President stay was superb. Hassle free check in less than 5mins,only ID proof with address n sign regn form.Deluxe room 9th floor overlooking marina beach and frequent MRT train shuttles. Clean large well furnished, lavish supply of toiletries n daily room make over. Very much worth for the price. Restaurant breakfast buffet was great..mostly South Indian but variations of dishes every day.Special mention about Chef live counter Dosa maker Narendran, crispy,warm,masala dosas on all 3days of our stay, never miss item. Overall superb stay and all our future visit to Chenna, Clarion would be our place to stay.

Hospitality is good in the restaurant. When the restaurant crew came to know that we are there for Anniversary celebration , just to surprise us they offered a complimentary cake to delight the occassion with Cake cutting. Cake was very very delicious.Thanks to the Chef and restaurant staff. Dinner buffet items are decent,but wouldnt be sufficient for food lovers.

Heres what happened:1. When Im checking in, the staff at the reception asks my cousin who is helping me check-in, how long she will be staying for (in a very suggestive manner). Totally uncalled for.2. I enter the room and on the sink, theres a cockroach alive (on its back).3. The next morning, I go to breakfast in a tank top (which is like a sleeveless tshirt with a logo on it) and the staff tells me that I cannot be seated. He points to a board saying that the dresscode is either casual or formal and that what i was wearing was neither. I ask him if I can take some breakfast and eat it in my room and he refuses.DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING AT THIS PLACE.The location is very good. Theres not much else to say. Read what I didnt like!

The place is nice and comfortable. The ambience is really good for a budget hotel. The rooms are clean and smell fresh, although little bit can be done about the bathroom. Breakfast has variety of option to choose from. Overall a good hotel to stay if you are on a small budget. Other advantages are that, one it is in the heart of the city and secondly US Consulate is just 2 Kms away.

And they also provide a 50% coupon for one time use in a day the restaurant which is a good deal. Apart from the service being absolutely pathetic, the staff is not just incompetent but also have the worst temperament.Ordered food at 2PM only to find out after 1.5 hours that the the manager forgot to place my order and now the kitchen is closed. When ordered food from outside (which also you have to sneak inside because they don’t allow you to order food from outside which even 5 star hotels allow), I was told they cannot give me plates to eat because I need to order something from their restaurant. We had to eat our food in tin foils just because they cannot give one plate!When I spoke to the duty manager (refused to tell me his name), as usual they had someone else to blame for all this, eventually blaming the top management. Eventually walking off after telling me to not come to this hotel again.All this when we spoke to them in the nicest tone possible (after eating in tin foils).Definitely do not recommend this hotel even if you’re getting it for free. Their service, management and food are all pathetic. It’s like living in a jail.

Stayed here after a long time. Solid value for money. Very clean and efficient check-in check-out.However their service is pretty sad. No valet service for parking which is not very bad but the person at the door is not even acknowledging your presence. I ask for a dustbin to trash the used water bottle again seeing through me! I ordered a meal via room service and am told it will take 10 mins. Nice, I think. Unfortunately I have to follow up again after about 30 mins. The lady at the other end has forgotten and wants to check again what I had asked for. Says 5 mins this time. I had had enough and called it a night. So basically if you can live without service the place is pretty decent and value for money. Just need to set your expectations right!

Extremely rude staff, would definitely need to be groomed to attend their customers bettet. They refused to give access to the television channels,The house keeping needs to be reminded over and over again. Rooms are average. Sheets,towels and toilets could be cared for better. I would definitely will not recommend this place.

We organized party in Pearl Hall in first floor and the charge was reasonable. The food quality and spread was very good. Dosa live counter was there. Ample parking space is available. Situated on RK Salai which is coming up as business district. Bar and restaurants are available in the ground floor. Attention on cleanliness of Restrooms required.

Not a very pleasant experience. Had requested for 1 person to be there all the time , but there was no one for the entire time. Booking done for 30 people but table was set for only 21 people. The tea was delayed. The buffet was very pathetic. The spread was not good and the food was cold. For the price it was definately not worth it. DISSAPOINTED

Given the reputation and the brand of the hotel, I had my expectations set very high. Unfortunately, my stay here was not memorable. Their daily operations are handled inefficiently and need to be looked at seriously by the management.Following were the issues that my family faced during our stay:1. The housekeeping team failed to do their basic duties. They would not clean the room when we were out in the morning and to get the room cleaned we had to make several requests.2. The cleanliness of the rooms was below standard. We could spot stains on the chair, sofa, and bed.3. They have only 2 employees serving all the guests for breakfast and the tables were not well arranged. We had to struggle for basic amenities like spoon, fork, and water.I would definitely recommend looking for other options as there are better options available.

Hotel Staff is very negative, specially the ones on the reservation counter.For every question they have a negative answer and also very rude. .. claims it to be a 5 star hotel, from no angle is it a five star hotel. Buffet breakfast though complementary is very basic and repetative. No service during buffet breakfast. Although buffet is self service but They dont even serve water on table, their waiters just keep picking up used plates, that is all. They dont do any other service. At least when one sits at the table, one expects a glass of water, i stayed there for 8 days and they did not do the same for all the days. Room cleaning service is not good. Towels are really old and torn. No slippers provided in the room. I had to ask for it, and the staff at reception looked at me as if I had demanded diamonds from them. I had informed them one day prior checkout that I would leave early morning and that I will require tea at 5.30 in the morning, so i called them up from my room at 5.00 am and checked whether it was ready, so they told me to come down in restaurant and have it. I had to wait for 30 mins for my tea to be ready... i wanted them to email me a hotel generated invoice also, but they had a negative reply for that, the person at booking reception told we cant do it, u call our accounts section after 2 hrs. Please note this is not how a 5 star hotel treats a customer, you dont ask the customer to call back, you give a call back to the customer.Their indian restaurant(18° north) is heavily priced,i had ordered 2 beverages(non alcoholic), a bowl of plain curd, bland khichdi(with no spices), jeera aloo. the bill was around1200 rs. because they billed my khichdi as sambar rice, my alloo jeera as some gobhi aloo dish...and thats how .. and they didnt even change it.And what maximum I expect from hotel reps now is that they will post a copy pasted message in reply to this feedback of mine, as I have seen they do for their other feedbacks.

The rooms are good and they also offered me an upgrade. But the internet connection is bad. They say wifi is free but when I checked in I come to know it is only 512kbps speed and if we need high speed connectivity we need to purchase the same. This came as a shock to me. Inspite of paying the net connectivity was extremely bad with very bad speed and frequent disconnections. Also on their TV there were no Paid channels active only free channels were available. Not expected from such a hotel. Very bad

The hotel is close to Marina Beach. Our rooms were upgraded at the time of check in. The rooms are very spacious, though one needs to get used to the electric switches. There was no hand towel and soap in the bathing enclosure. The bed in the room is large and quite comforatable. The lighting in the board room is inadequate. The food in the two restaurants of the hotel is good, however service and table clearance is slow. Overall, till now, (will be checking out tomorrow) the experience has been okay.

Some changes could make it better.Few things need to change, buffet breakfast menu being the first one. There were hardly any item for non south Indian food loving guests. I have practically seen a guest taking multiple rounds checking the trays and finally all he could eat is slice of bread and jam! Staffs really need to be way more efficient. They are polite and trying, but to maintain international standard, they should be upgraded. They dont have a single non southern language TV channel! And the wi-fi was horrible, means literally migraine causing horrible. Be it inside tho room or restaurant. The location is nice, depending your activities. For travellers going for medical treatment, it is 5-8km from popular hospitals, but traffic in Chennai was never as issue. Food was comparatively cheaper than hotel standard. Many of the items we tried to order through room service was not available. We stayed 4nights, but some of the complementary items like tea-coffee sachets were give twice only. Third day i called room service, they confirmed supplying soonest, but i didnot received until checkout. I really dont care for Rs2 priced sachets, but come on, dont be so cheap!

This is one of my Fav hotels in Chennai . Easy to locate on the main road . This is pretty old hotels which is renovated n this really needs a big make over.this hotel gives a classy look inaugurated by Dr MGR.*Decent and large room*value for money*Couple and family friendly*house keeping service is good but they need to trained more .*Restaurants are available inside*pool size is small and they need to be maintained well#bath area and toilets becomes damp after bath so they really need to change it. Not up to the standard. Checked in at 10 pm but the team had no idea how to proceed. Was waiting for a long time. No bell boy to assist with luggage. No glass in bathroom. Only 1 towel for 2 guests. Toilet essentials are hardly there. Lots of mosquito in the room. Breakfast was OK but guess their chimney was not working and so the entire hall was smelling of food.

Good place to stay during hectic schedules. Only difficulty is getting reservation on the same day. You have to book in advance and prices are very high if you book directly (Rs 3500/- + tax for single occupancy during normal season) You can book through travel websites to get more discounts.You can enjoy food, swimming pool and gym during your stay. You will get usually 2+1 buffet dinner here. Swimming pool is very small.Very near to marina beach and can walk down for morning walks or evening walks.Food is average, breakfast spread will be less. Staff will not be taking care of you. Infact the fruits were found smelling and the staff has simply told they cannt find that as they are not supposed to taste it. A very bitter experience when i have visited on 24th and 25th Sept 2019. The room was having fungus and there was no evidence of cleaning the room walls.

To start with, the hotel ambience entrance is very good. The looks of the hotel is very very good. But in hospitality industry the service is all that counts. Initially the 2 pm check in was not adhered, we were given the room at 4 pm. we had to wait for 2 hrs in the lobby and later we were given a smoking room for a family with kids. which was changed after a tussle of argument. The wifi doesnt work, the room service was pathetic. A bowl of yogurt took 2 hrs to be delivered. The breakfast is one of the biggest flopshow. And on the check out date we were pepestered from morning 8:30am for check out when we were given the room 2 and half hours late during the check in time. The hotel is given a 4 * status but we are sorry to say a 1* lodge(not hotel) service was rendered. Our last priority would be this hotel whenever we travel to chennai next. Thank you for not having a great experience.

Very lousy. Its a old run down hotel sparsely renovated. Only good thing and this place is the componentary morning breakfast. The staff is very arrogant and inefficient. They talk to the guests as if they dont need them. Housekeeping and reception is pathetic. You might have to ask for even bath towels everyday. Its not worth the money and there are much better places for the same or lesser cost.

Very very worst service. U need to call up 4 to 5times to house keeping to get brush towels. Need to wait for more than 1hr for each and every service. Room service they r giving spoiled side dishes. After reporting also they didnt change. No staffs r in restaurant only 2peole r available for restaurant. Only one person for house keeping. Very worst and horrible experience. They r not in the state of running hotel it seems. Will never recommend this hotel. Pls dont prefer this hotel then u will get tensed until u stay in this hotel for each and every service

Its a very old well known location, some rooms are well maintained while few not up to the mark. If the booking done through any online marketplace, then you may not good rooms, however if directly booked then they give top notch rooms; this is based on my few booking in both modes in recent past. Food served in their restaurant is really awesome, but the team over there is stressed due to covering the entire floor with minimal people and for water too you will have to wait for a long time. If something requested to prepare, then for sure without follow-up you will not be served. The most attraction is the location.

I went to the hotel to meet an acquaintance. The hotels name has been changed from Hotel President to Clarion Hotel President. The hotel was decent and looked tidy. If it is a 4 star hotel, definitely the service needs improvement. My host ordered coffee over intercom (room service) with the reception. A waitress brought coffee in a thermos but it was not hot. We mentioned the waitress that the coffee was not hot and asked her to bring hot coffee for which she obliged. There were 2 restaurants - One close to reception which is open. Food smell emanates from it on to the walkway which i feel is not needed. I mean the restaurant should be a closed one. The other North Indian restaurant was a closed one (had proper doors). The area where the hotel is located is a decent, posh locality.

The staff is very helpful. Breakfast was good. Room is big and was kept clean. The washroom however wasnt great. (There was a landline phone there and was very dusty). Would suggest to have a dorrmat outside the washroom. Location is great, mall and marina beach at walking dustadis. I would like to mention again about the staff, very impressive. The reception guys helped me with a cab (Uber and Ola were on strike) and followed up to check if I had got any other arrangement done. I called back the hotel a week later for an invoice requesting for certain details I wanted and they were quick to revert. Precisely within an hour. This is specifically for the accounts team - Ms. Mithila. Thanks guys!!

Room cleanliness was average; not worth the price that I paid. My brother had another room booked and his entire room was flooded with water in the morning, due to an overnight rainfall. The room smelled in the morning, and my brother almost slipped when he woke up and went towards the bathroom.I accidentally lost my keys, and they charged me Rs.300/- for that, which is quite unusual. I have never heard any hotel charge fine for losing the keys.In the morning, I was getting late for an appointment, so my family had half the breakfast and had to leave in a rush. Luckily our appointment was over much sooner than expected, and we came back to hotel. We went for breakfast after coming back, and they refused breakfast. This is really absurd. This is common sense that no one would come for breakfast twice in less than 1 hour, if theyve already had proper breakfast in the first go. They should understand that we came back for breakfast because we hadnt been able to eat properly due to an appointment that we were getting late for.

The location is great just 5 mins away from the beach. The breakfast is ok ..only downside is the room service is pathetic. The reception is great and management is courteous enough to help you. Beware of the wifi service the complementary one is super weak and they actually ask you to pay for the faster broadband.

Breakfast variety is limited.. mostly south Indian. I hope they would consider including different types of foods. Not much of a comfortable atmosphere, decorations wise also I didnt like it. I wouldnt recommend given the price range.

I am from Malaysia, I stayed with family total 9 guest and 4 rooms. We faced bad experience in this Clarion Hotel, Mylapore. The travel vehicle accidentally hit the top outdoor ceiling when the driving follow the securities guidance, once happened the guards blame the driver and asked to pay for it, we felt pity on him when it was not his fault so we bare the cost. Once the management saw the CCTV footage and under advice of GM they know the truth and sent cake to our room to apologise, but they still ask us to pay for the damage. Nice right? The security guards behave very rude and not professional at all. Hotel is big and nice, room is good but the water drawn slow at bathing place, wifi low coverage and have to pay for better coverage, when I call to reception regarding wifi password, receptioanist doesnt behave polite. When we check out the bill was multiplied and they said it is a technical problem. Hope they dont bring it as an issue in future. Conclusion is not worth for money, have to improve their professionalism, have to maintain some technical stuffs (bathroom pipe, wifi) other wise strategic place. But I wont come back to this hotel again. Thanks.

Stayed at the Clarion for 6 nights and once again an excellent experience. One advise to all guests - if for whatever reason you have any issue, speak directly to Ms Kanchana or/and Mr Vivek. Both are very dedicated and committed to ensure every guest is well looked after and are treated like guests at home. Kudos to Clarion.

Visited this hotel when I was attending a conference. First time I was not offered valet parking in a star hotel and I had to park my car and walk all way back to the hotel. Ambience and food was good but the staff were not courteous enough as they should be.

My stay was wonderful the free buffet breakfast is excellent. The lunch and dinner buffet is delicious, food quality excellent. Room service is great. The front desk staff is polite and helpful. The house keeping is excellent. The rooms are clean and inviting and equipped with all the amenities. The beds are very comfortable. Laundry service is excellent. Wonderful outdoor pool! The location is great! Restaurants, mall, beach, shop, temples in walking distances. My next visit to Chennai in November I will be definitely stay at the at Clarion Hotel President! I love this hotel! All the staff made me feel welcome comfortable and safe! One more thing I loved the bar call the Purple Room cold beer great drinks very nice and polite bartenders!!!!!!!

Very good property managed very badly. Room service is not at all working, no one picks up call after repeated try also. Receptionist at night tried to help but house keeping or room service guys dont give it any importance. Swimming pool is big joke, dont seem to be pool at all just water body. Swimming pools open at 7 am in morning but is cleaned in afternoon, so if want to try it in morning you will have to bare all waste landed in water through out night.

The hotel located very near to Marina Beach. Has all the facilities but needs some makeover and better maintenance. The free breakfast was very average with limited varieties. The luxury room was very spacious with very good view of the city and beach. Room air-conditioning was perfect. Overall a decent stay and value for money if you want to just spend some nights.

It is quite easy to locate, present on a main road. The rooms are very neat and comfortable, have all the amenities required. Staff are very courteous and willing to help with any request a guest might have. Reservations made through the hotels own website grant guests extra privileges including late check-out and other discounts.

When we went for breakfast, they denied entry to cafeteria saying improper dress code. They checking dress style before providing breakfast seems so funny. My friend was wearing skirt and top and they said have wear long pants otherwise will not provide breakfast. Room was ok only. But Shower was not working. Reception staff very unfriendly. Much delayed room delivery.

The hotel is rated 4 star property but there are no basic facilities as TV, hot water, good WiFi, housekeeping supplies. First day of check-in- there was only local free channels, I dont know Tamil language and on asking the manager she told sorry, I cant help but this is what we have and no other guests are complaining. This turned into a argument and she argued with me for almost half day giving me a terrible headache. Then I connected with goibibo, who connected with the hotel staff and got me two channels started in Hindi and English. As next day being a general holiday on 2nd Oct I had plans of just relaxing in the room but the second day also went in vain. Also same for hot water in washroom and I got some rashes on day may be the hotel is bug infested too.

Cheating by hotel...... i am regular guest since one year. They dont care for regular loyal customer too .... I was told and they advertise that there will be discount on food if we book directly through website. I tried booking by website and it showed hotel full. I called the hotel number and asked for booking, I asked about the offer on food as it was direct booking. They said YES for the same but at the time of check out no one agreed that they said it and no discount given. Even I did not get newspaper anyday. Was in town for a visa appointment with family and stayed here for 2 days. The booking was done through cleartrip and hotel receptionist was not able to find our reservation. After talking to few people and after some time, they allocated a smoking room. I booked a non-smoking room. They said by evening they will change the room. Since lot of time wasted in dealing with this matter (staffs inefficiency added to the problem), we decided to eat from their restaurant. That was a bad decision - food quality was bad. I had stomach issues for 2 days. When we came back in evening, they were saying there is no non-smoking room and even after lot of arguments, they were adamant. We had no choice (time was 11 PM) than sleep in a smocking room with smell of cigarettes. Toilets were not cleaned and fittings were old/rusted. We couldnt sleep properly. Next day we had appointment at 9 and had to rush. We had a namesake breakfast. We came back by 9:45 and I went to breakfast room to get a cup of tea. I am told that I will be charged for tea since we already ate our breakfast! Can you believe that? We went out for shopping and the manager told that they have a non-smoking room and they will shift my bags. We came back at night (around 11 PM) and the same story. No non-smoking room, I had a bitter argument with the staff and they were very adamant and intimidating. My family was already tired and we had to attend the visa interview next day. So, we had no other choice that sleeping in that disgusting room one more day. Finally they agreed to change to another smocking room with a better toilet. I had a horrible experience with the hotel and will not recommend. Only plus point is the location. So, if that is your only criteria, this hotel is ok. I will never stay here again.

In urgent need of renovation. Everything in the room needs to be replaced cos it shows age or is ruined. The rooms are huge though. The bathroom is really cramped and that too requires a lot of work. When requested for an ironing board, they got us the most dilapidated ironing board. The cover and the padding was burnt through. It was not usable. It’s remarkable how they can give their guests something that ruined! But on a positive note,The iron box they provided was good!The only time I would advise you to get this room is if you absolutely need a large room and don’t care about anything else.

Worst 4 star hotel ever seen in my life.I was here for a business trip and I had to leave the hotel by 7.30 AM to reach my destination. However, they did not even start the breakfast by that time.Also, during check in at 10 PM in the night, it took more than 45 minutes for the right guy to come and check me in the hotel.Total pathetic condition. Totally not recommended to stay here.

Rooms were clean, but bathrooms could have been a bit more cleaner. There was bad smell coming off from wash sync. Corridor had very strong smoking smell.Breakfast was really good. Staff were polite and nice to guest. Over all I had a decent stay at this place with great food. Keep in mind that room service menu is really expensive.Over all I give 4 star

Its an average hotel. The rooms are quite nice but can be cleaner. We had to ask the house cleaning for dusting to be done. The room service was quite prompt. The staff overall helpful.But the breakfast was quite disappointing. They dont do eggs on order. Which hotel doesnt offer that??? Also when we went to the cafe in the morning, they had marked 4 tables as Reserved. The place was empty except for 3 other tables. They refused to let us sit on the reserved tables. Even after 30 minutes of having been there nobody occupied those seats. I wonder why would a hotel do that to their guests??Also the floor was sticky. Something had probably spilled on the floor and not cleaned properly. The shoes stuck everytime you walked to get something from the buffet. This hotel is just okay. The sleep quality in the rooms is good and the bathroom was spic and span. For a short visit its okay. But the restaurant staff can have a better attitude.

Situated close to US consulate and City Centre Mall, this hotel offers a comfortable stay at a reasonable price. However the service quality needs to be improved a lot. The room I was offered was quite spacious, had comfortable bed & nice centralized A/C and thus I had a present sleep. The attached bathroom was also big and clean. However the hand as well as bath towels seems to be pretty old and turned blackish. Bed covers also contained few stains, so as the table top and floor carpet. Morning breakfast was good with decent varieties, the food served in room service were tasty and quantity was sufficient. Overall it was a pleasant stay for me.

Its a pretty decent hotel. We got up- graded room stay there. Breakfast is decent. Close to important shopping locations like Mylapore, T. Nagar etc. Staff are very polite, courteous, and Co operative. Not given 5 stars only because food items, though good, are pretty expensive. Stay part: Rooms spacious, clean, well maintained and bright. Coffee/tea could be prepared in the room. I recommend this hotel to visitors. Though travel desk is not there, the counter staff provide taxi operators numbers. Over all a satisfying stay

Amazing service, the location is great too. Above all for the amount I paid this was certainly great value for money.The room was spacious and very clean. Housekeeping came in everyday to do up the room. Also, the view from my room was spectacular.The only problem I had with the hotel was their Wifi. It was terribly slow. When I tried to upgrade the speed, I got charged but the speed didnt really change.Overall it was a great experience

HiTo the concerned - this is my feedback for the stay I had in the hotel on the below mentioned allotted days.Room No. 242Day 1 - Checked in to the hotel at 8 pm just to see that the access card is not functional post entering the room. So no light in the room. Came back to the reception along with my luggage and I was escorted by some staff back to the room. After entering the room the staff informed me that this room 242 is all manual and access card will not work other than allowing you to enter the room from outside. Secondly the light in the room was so dim that visibility was a concern, however it was fine as I had to have dinner and then sleep.Day 2 - Morning : Realised the importance of dim/ low light as could not see myself in the mirror and the difficulty to shave. Called housekeeping for assistance, the person from maintenance came , saw the room 242 and informed that the room is not a renovated room like other rooms in the same floor. So cant much do anything on this . Did my morning shaving process with the help of the corner standing lamp for visibility and had to reach out every time to the bathroom to use water and then come back to the drawing room to shave again. Extremely inconvenient. Post this had to press my clothes. In the wardrobe there was an iron stand but there was no Iron to press the clothes, dialled for the same in housekeeping but the staff maintained that the iron is there in the wardrobe, so I told someone to come and check, staff came checked it and returned back to deliver iron box , realising that I was telling the truth.On my way to work , informed reception with this entire above background and feedback , I was told that the we will look into it and if required the room will change.Day 2 - Evening . When I was back to the hotel post 8 pm, enquired on the same at the reception on room 242, there was no update on room change or about the dim light from the staff who were present in the morning and again at the reception the evening staff told me that there was no update from morning staff. So to know this background the evening staff told me that someone from maintenance will be there to see all this again. The maintenance staff repeated the same feedback of day 1. On asking the reception on room change - I was told that we will do the room change tomorrow as its already late.So just left it and decided to accommodate myself with whatever is available for rest of the days and to adjust accordingly.Day 3 - Wednesday evening - Raining and completely wet . Just to realise that I went to the room 242 and the access card was not working. So came down back to the reception fully wet and the response from reception was that the card needs to be activated again. So got it done.Day 4 evening - Heavy rains and completely wet , so requested for a hair dryer/ Blower , just to get the feedback from housekeeping that the room is not a renovated room so hair dryer is not there, however will provide a hair dryer. I waited but in vain and no response.The entire stay had been extremely painful considering its my first visit to Chennai City and the fact that I had other options available. I have no further words to express beyond this. Me being a part of the financial industry and the feedback within the circle may not go well.Hope this is all well addressed before the room 242 is allotted to any new guest.After the feedback also no one bothered to revert

Lousy hotel. Check-in time was 2:00pm and the front desk says the rooms are not ready and shows a bunch of reservations where people are waiting for check in. In a way he was asking what is the hurry. I had to talk to his supervisor. Checking into the room, the floor mats, towels were dirty and I had to ask the house cleaning to change. Even after the changing they were dirty. The chair in the room was dirty. I asked the house cleaning and the person said he would a put a towel to cover which I said not required. The flush in the toilet was not working.Next coming to breakfast at 7:45am, all tables were not cleared of used plates. I asked the lady and she did not bother. She was not responding to anyone and no one else was there to help the customers. There were food not available in many of the counters as well. To take coffee she was holding couple of cups and no cups were available near the coffee counter. I asked for milk and she said that the cornflakes counter has, which was exactly on the other corner of the breakfast area. I went to the front desk and asked for a supervisor and I was told all managers and supervisors come only at 9am and he would talk to the lady at breakfast. He called her and she gave a damn to this guy. I asked for the MD’s contacts and he was not willing to give.I am surprised how this hotel is star rated as lodges and Budget hotels are way better than this hotelI would not recommend anyone for this hotel.

Stayed overnight to attend a function in Avinga hall, a 5 minute walk in the same road towards the left. Had a restaurant and bar in the ground floor, didnt use it though. The room in 7th floor was good. Had a good nights sleep thanks to the clean sheets. The bathroom had a wonderful shower with the usual towels and complimentary soap bars. A hot shower after sleeping in the AC is always great although it was in Chennai.Overall it was a good experience with no unnecessary disturbances although it was just for a night stay.

The foyer and restaurants are good, but when you step into the lifts they are dirty. Rooms are of a very low standard, old and need repairs.Fixtures are rusting, bed covering were dirty and stained, window blinds are mouldy .The room preparation is hit and miss, sometimes rooms are cleaned, sometimes partly cleaned and sometimes missed.My room had a broken kettle lid that spilled boiled water and asked for it to be replaced. Staff said it still boils water so that is OK, safety was not considered.On an international standard, I would only rate the clarion at bests a 3 star, but front of desk staff, and restaurant staff are very good and helpful.

Did not get even the bell boy to carry our luggages.Food is very very costly.Conclusion: Comparing other hotels nearby, I will still choose this hotel cause it is still worth the price.
