Old is Gold, built in 6th century by Pallavas is classified as among the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu. The name Parthasarathy means the charioteer of Arjuna, in the epic Mahabaratha (Wiki). Only temple of Vishnu idol with Moustache and three avatars: Narasimha, Rama and Krishna at same place. The pillars are standing so tall over the centuries hold the roof so firm. Looks so beautiful made of rock-cuts, oldest structure in Chennai. Temple open 6am close midday and open for Darshan 4pm-8pm. Due to covid closed on Friday over weekend. Visit early with family to enjoy the beautiful Tamil architecture, a unique experience.

Not a single person deprives you from the quality time you want with the almighty God. You can take your own time to have a good look at the idol. Also dasha avtar is present at the entrace of gharbagudi of Parthasarathi God. They also say that this is the only avatar of lord Krishna with a moustache. One of the places to visit while in Chennai.

What a Temple !!!. You merge with the deity, sink in the devine atmosphere, do not close your eyes and pray, keep your eyes open and relish the beauty of Sarathy, just talk to him enquire about his well being, his needs, whether you can help him in any way but no requests, wishes, prayers. He will take care of youOm namo Parthasarathi

The temple is located very near to the Marina Beach. Once can take auto, bus or even train to reach the place from anywhere in chennai. Nearest Train station is Thiruvellikeni, which is a kilometer away from the beach, towards the direction of the beach. The temple was built by Pallava and chola kings during 8th century AD. It is one of the 108 divya desamsThe name Parthasarathy means: Charioteer of Arjuna. Partha referes to Krishna, Sarathy-charioteer. The deity is 9 Feet tall and it is the only temple where Lord Krishna appears with a MOUSTACHE.The temple is open from 6.00 a.m. to 12.00 a.m. and from 4.00 p.m. and 9.00 p.m

Its a vibrant temple, with different sections painted in different colours and with various music. The temple is dedicated to Vishnu and houses a number of fascinating statues. It is definitely worth the visit. Its important to remember to avoid the crowds (and plan your visit appropriately, preferably early in the morning and not on a particular event day). Photography is prohibited, and visitors must remove their shoes before entering (which is normal in India but surprised me quite a bit).

Very ancient and glorious temple. But in the name of (fake) development, we can see the irreparable damage caused to the structures everywhere in the premises by none other than the non caring HR&CE Board officials with the ulterior motive to fill their pockets. They filled their pockets and thus succeeded in their object. But all of them have to payback for their commissions and omissions in the form of sufferings sometime in the future. None can escape.

The only temple in the world where lord shree krishna is with a moustache. The Parthasarathy Temple is an 6th-century Hindu Vaishnavite temple dedicated to Vishnu, located at Thiruvallikeni, Chennai, India. The temple is glorified in the Divya Prabandha, the early medieval Tamil literature canon of the Alvar saints from the 6th to 9th centuries CE and is classified as among the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu.[2] The name Parthasarathy means the charioteer of Arjuna, referring to Krishnas role as a charioteer to Arjuna in the epic Mahabaratha.
