Food was fine. We went on a thursday night, it was mildly crowded, service was very bad. I wonder how they manage on weekends.

Food was good and the ambience is ok. We had good time at Slate. The place is horrible in terms of cleanliness,, no one cares to clean anything , rest room is filth..even government pay and use toilets are better than this. Understood the ongoing construction but a place that charges 600 a beer should be clean and well kept..atleast the toilets

Great place to unleash and have fun. The only hookah place in Chennai that serves very tasty side dishes. They serve alcohol also here. Basically an open to the sky bar where one can smoke seesha. Good place to go with friends. This place gets busy later in the evenings. Only problem is mosquitoes. Moreover, the owners close this place arbitrarily. Call before going there.

We went to this place when zomato gold 1+1 on food was applicable. We unlocked two zomato golds and ordered 4 items.Hong Kong chicken was very tasty. Chicken was so soft and its taste was so good.French Fries was usual but crispy.Crispy chilli baby corn was also very nice and it tasted really good.Nachos was okay. I didnt like it that much.LIIT was like the actual one in tall glasses.The day we went there DJ was on till 3:30 or maybe after that also because we left after that.Songs they were playing was really nice.Had a good time here.

The hotel was great. The Studio that they have is amazing and has excellent music. Its a great place to chill and socialize. I went there with 3 other friends and now its my go to spot for the future. Really good DJ, amazing crowd. The food too is brilliant and the variety of drinks they provide is fascinating. There is everything from local liquor to International imported liquor. Definitely would recommend this place to those who want to party hard and enjoy.

Good food in a serene atmosphere. A good variety of food for both vegetarians and non-vegetarian. They have a separate place for vegetarians which is very good.The service was good all-round. The price of their food was also quite good. My only problem was with their drinks. They did not offer fresh juice which is my favourite drink anywhere I go. If you love wine or hard liquor then you will not be disappointed, they have a good selection of these.In all it is a place I will recommend for outing

We sat in the Studio. Good ambience. Tried veg starters and few cocktails. Veg starters can be improved. Also many sofas were empty but we were told its reserved and we had to sit on the bar chairs. DJ was there but only techno music was playing like the playlist has been preset. Valet parking available. Cricket lovers can even watch on big screen.

A really good location and more of a sports bar setup.. The bar size is good and music is awesome. Its always better to reserve tables here when going with 4+. The liquor and food options are very good too. The staff and the crowd are pretty decent and good security to enter the premises. They have a muaythai ring in the location.. Havent really seen an event but given the environment in sure it should be fun.

I had gone for dinner with friends. Food options in Studio is very less and quantity needs to be improved. Ambiance outside studio is amazing- one can watch live matches and any telecasts. Inside Slate Studio, a band was trying to entertain but was very did not perform anything till the 2 hours I stayed over. Lighting inside was nice except for the band area. Overall, a decent experience.

Went to the STUDIO! Cool place to hang out with friends in the evening/night right in Namma Chennai! Good crowd and nice ambience. Snacks and drinks works out to about 1000 bucks per person. Not bad!

Excellent ambience and crowd. The staff is very courteous and efficient.... The outdoor seating is a Little uncomfortable and flooded with mosquitoes, but if you can live through that its a good place to relax and unwind. The food and beverages are extremely tantalizing. They could introduce some desserts for a more wholistic experience.

AYR rooftop is a nice place to chill with your friends and enjoy the drinks. Very courteous staff. The sides are not upto the mark..mostly cold and a bit disappointing with the taste too.

It really is a place to crash after the party. The place turns into a club of sorts in the evening. Restaurant does not officially open till 12 noon so breakfast can be an issue. Cleanliness can definitely be improved. No concept of air ventilation. Service is acceptable.

The Slate has indeed an eye catching appeal with the entrance and the central open dining area. The three restuarants with bars are decent. But i must say it would have scored a 4.5 if it was maintained well. The initial good feel is lost when we look into details with an untidy and ill kept interiors, bathroom and cupboards. That is solely the failure of the housekeeping segment of the hotel. If you do not plan to spend much time inside the room, the hotel is quite a bargain with the splendid location and easy access.

The studio is really a nice place to organise events. There is a big screen for watching sports also on the ground floor. The entrance is really cool with all the graffiti on the walls.

Went and actually reserved a space, arrived to a half full bar and empty outside area but were told there’s a private party and the only place we can sit is in the no-fan, no a/c area all while it’s about 40 degree 😬 of course that area is on the ground floor with construction noise as opposed to the rooftop we reserved for.Came here with different groups of people several times the last weeks started linking it, but this experience today - no thank you!

The place and the location is alright! They definitely gotta improve the service and the response time. My first time out here and I felt the food wasnt good and the pot did take ages to come.. Should focus on the customer and the food. To top it off the place wasnt full either, so cant play the busy card..

A very good place to hangout in weekends

We had went to The Slate for our team dinner along with some boozing. This place was a perfect choice of ours where we had a great time which we never had in any other place. The beer was awesome so is the sides. They were pouring us the sides without stopping to it. Cheese ball & dragon chicken were a great yes yes there. Main course was okayish kind of things.

If you want to embarrass your guests, this is the right place to go. Service is a word alien to this place. Most items missing from both drinks and food menu. Bar tender not a qualified one. Food sucks, our prawns and chicken were served cold. No tissues, no water, no spoons, plates or even a receptionist to take or guide you to a table. Wonder how this place is still running. Worst of all exorbitant prices and poor access to roof top restaurant. Its an insult to call this anywhere close to luxury.Only plus: Ambience

Its a good place to chill with friends. Good food. Consider not wearing shorts if you decide visiting the rooftop pub post 6PM, youd meet them mosquitos. Otherwise a very polish hangout :)

Its one of the most happening places in Chennai currently. They have a boxing ring, although Ive never seen any boxing matches till date. They have a separate area for hookah. The lounge area in beautiful with an interesting menu card! Must visit if you want to check out the night life in Chennai.

Pathetic place. Made to wait for 15 minutes before being shown to a table, when we tried to sit on one of the many places, they asked us not to sit but could not tell us where we could sit. Ultimately we say on one of the many empty tables. This was just the beginning...then when we asked for the menu, they could not find one and required the captain to come and take one from another guest to give us. Then when we asked for something as regular as dark rum and diet coke, they did not have either. I started writing this review after that...dont have the heart to write more about this overpriced but yet pathetic place.

Our room in the hotel seemed old in comparison to other spaces in the building and the language barrier was an issue. Other than that the hotel was comfortable and located in a street that had a lot to offer. Try the cafe at the right just a 30 meters once you leave the hotel.

Chennais one of the most happening place. Slate studio is a bit compact but worth it. Some good music and food. Preferably on weekends. Rooftoop has Seesha and a good place to chill.

Had a really great time singing hindi songs along with everyone which I think is somewhat rare to find in Chennai. There should be more options in beer though, not everyone can afford 7 pints of Stella.

Food was basic bar food, good veggie burger and lamb burger, hookahs were a nice touch. Definitely a young folks hang out Be careful sitting outside. There are a ton of mosquitos on the deck and they will bite. I would recommend sitting inside, however it is pretty loud.
