Srinivasa Perumal Temple at Vellalar Street Purasawalkam is a old but nice temple. It has Sannadhis of Srinivasar, Thayar and Andal in the Main Sanctum. Also sannadhis of Hanuman, Hayagreevar are also there. Maintenance of the temple is very good. Temple also has Gosalai. Quite a peaceful place in the otherwise busy area.

Srinivasa Perumal temple is a Landmark in Purasawalkam , Originally there was a bhajanai koil here. The bhajanai koil was built more than 300 years ago. The present temple came into existence in 1850, The temple is said to be the abhimaana sthalam of the Nithya Kalyana Perumal temple of Tiruvidandai, and it is said that the sataari of the temple came from Tiruvidandai. The idol of Lord Srinivasa is more than seven feet high every year in the month of Margazhi, a Tiruppavai contest for children is held at the temple and prizes awarded to them , this temple has also for three consecutive years, won the award given by the Mylapore Academy for the cleanest temple in the city. since the vellala street has become commercially busy its very difficult to find a Parking space however if your lucky you can park in front of Goldmax which is diagonally opposite to the temple .
