Unfortunately we didnt get good memories here. After meals I felt heartburn issue. I feel all the curries and dishes are over spicy. For Mutton chukka non veg meals, you need to pay 399 rupees. It has all kind of on-veg gravies. I ordered chicken briyani, they served briyani with chicken pieces from chicken curry. No proper parking facilities for both 2 and 4 wheelers. You need to keep on checking with the person to know your seat, since they are not ready to write the names to reserve or allocate as first come first serve.
A traditional mess styled restaurant.Irrespective of standards, fine dining, quality of food, cuisines...... one of the top notch restaurant for service and customer friendly. I didnt even have to ask the waiter for rice/gravy, they were so proactive in attending customers. Was so delighted to see such a kind of Virundhombal in Chennai.Coming to the food, this place will be liked by ppl who like soru :-). Being more of a non-rice person, felt this was a mediocre taste. We ordered a prawn meal which came with 7(chicken, mutton, fish, prawn, naattu kozhi, kaadai and crab) gravies and a prawn side dish. All the gravies were ok, nothing hitting my taste bud on a high note. But everything was very spicy, had the mouth on fire mode for 15mins even after finishing it.We also had:karandi omelette, it was so juicy with the gravy and yummyFish fry, it was good had fried coconut toppingsFinal verdict: visit this place if you are a hard core meals person. Sor, sor, melum sor 😀
I visited Pattukottai Kamatachi Mess when I came for a vacation in Chennai, my brother had told me not to have anything for breakfast because of the extensive dishes in the Meals that they offer. I dont recall the name of the meal that I ordered. But they offered me 6-7 gravies with meat pieces, each different, each very earthy in taste, served with a lot of love from the stewards. Recommending to anyone who loves to give Spicy Tamil Food a try.
I went to have meals. It was good but only one thing I din like was there was no proper ventilation. Ac was on but it was hot and could not eat properly...
Good taste of meals.. priced very high.. side dish quantity is less.. items are available only for limited duration.
Nice food tasty varieties of typical chettinad cuisine!Small area. If big family, may have to wait for a while !
A small and unpretentious joint, the mess offers seven varieties of gravies that include chicken, mutton, prawn, fish and kadai.Me and my friend had lunch herewe also ordered Chettinad Chicken, mutton chukka and Karandi omlette.Every item is well cooked and simply super Remind me of mothers home cooked flavours.Took rasam and buttermilk in cups. The price is also very reasonable, the ambience is clean
Food was spectacular, amazing customer servicec by Mrs vedanayagi and Mr suresh. Stellar food and service, couldnt be any better!
The one thing that I loved, even more than their really good food, was their hospitality. I had such a wonderful afternoon. I will definitely visit this place again.
Very very expensive ,for the quantity of food, they serve....Charging a dish at a minimum of 299 and maximum of 500,and serving it , in a quantity of prasadham leaf bowl being provided at temples.....This is where they stand and thats how they differ from standard hotels like Zaitoon, sea shell, Anjappar and few others.. .If you are concerned about only taste and not money, u may try.....Not worthy or value for money ,we pay......
Must try. All the items were unique and tasty. Little crowded on weekend, items may get over soon. But its worth the wait and effort. All the gravys were nice. Recommend the place 100%
Good taste, good varieties, half of the dishes were spicy (which I loved ). Crampy car park ( not sure abt valet parking)
Exactly this is located at backside of Simbu house, coming to hotel you should go earlier and reserve your table else you have to wait for dine in. Must try the non veg meals with omelette variety prawn omelette are awesome. Heavy meals after one nice sleep awesome day. Plan and go for it guys
The non veg meals was pretty elaborate, the 7 different gravies served were very interesting. The varieties were very good, however the taste is not so great. Tried the mutton fry and kola. The curry was hot and particularly tasty could feel more chilly than anything else. Could do better with the taste.
Try for any dish, it will be good. My favorite was non veg meals which comes with 7 gravies and kola uurundai. But price are bit high.
Really bad place to go if you are hungry. Reached this place for lunch on a weekday, only to find the place crowded. The manager told us to wait for 5 mins even though the crowd was huge. After all the fake promises of 5 mins for a long time, got the table after 30 mins. And it does not stop here. The starter available was just 2. And also all the food items were oily and way too spicy. One thing we loved was the gravies they provided for the non veg meals which was pretty good. Overall a bad option if you are looking for better options for starters.
As usual best taste and service. One of the finest tamil non veg cuisine in TNAGAR
Excellent Chettinad resturant.5 stars for serving the customer.Ambience is not so great, AC facility can be improved.Bit too spicy 🔥🥵🥵 dishesBut taste was top notch specially dry fish thokku.Combo meals are preferred. Its a feast for spicy lovers.
One of the best places in Chennai where you can find a good meal and the price is just with it for the quantity and quality they served us with. There food is really yummy and the service is wonderful. And youll get to eat authentic Tamilnadu cuisine and they also provide a side dish at no extra cost.
Not a place to be missed to check out tamil cuisine, good food, good ambience, they feed you well. You will Love it.
They offer meals with 7 non vegetarian curry and one non vegetarian side dish which can be mutton fry or tuna fish 🐟 fry or prawn 🍤 or crab 🦀 (anyone nor these). The charge 400 per person and the service is good. You get additional kootu, poriyals and also dry fish(karuvaadu) thokku.Prefer to go upstairs and not have food in the ground floor. Thats where the kitchen is and it will be hot and smokey spoiling your mood instead of enjoying the food.Goli soda is available with 4 different flavours, for sweet lime they charge 60/- which I feel is bit costly. Sweet beeda they could have made inclusive of the mean instead of charging extra (30/- per piece).
So far I had mutton and nattukozhi biriyani. Well, the NPK mess has to seriously sit, think and reconsider about the level of ginger-garlic paste loaded enormously in the food which not only gave a first time acidity in my life (I am still in my 20s) but also not recommendable for elderly and children. A genuine suggestion. Still wondering why there is no egg and sweet.
They have delicious food, however, they have a couple of serious problem. One is customer service and other place. They serve vegetable and non veg side dishes at the size of mosquito. The place is very cramped as fish market. They took 25 minutes for an omelet at that time I was almost finished eating lunch.Worst part they serve chenakuni and call it prawns.
Meals are damn excellent here. Must try place for non veg lovers.
All time fav ,but not now they have change the masala pattern so taste changed ,but service wise and hygene wise they are good. All food will pakka chettinad style .
Hi friends , I have visited to Pattukottai kamatchi mess in T. Nagar last week with family. Many of friends suggested me go and review. Its a home not a mess , the curtasy , the behaviour of the staff are above board. Food is wonderful. We ordered , mutton sukka , chicken fry , fish fry , prawn fry , omlet and kola urundai. The fish fry was wonderful. We cannot leave anything. A little expensive but food and taste lover the experience will be superb. A place not miss for food livers and family
This place is for the people who like Spicy food (the chicken meals is must to try ) and also the prawn masala is the best dish to have here do check out if you love non veg
Really nice and authentic taste. Especially kola urundai, vanjiram fry great.
Superb place for authentic South Indian food especially Chettinad style food. Biriyani here is awesome. We prefer to have meals for which you will get 7 types of gravies / kozhambu starting from chicken, mutton, fish, crab, country chicken, prawn and also rasam. The side dishes are also fresh and tasty. Especially seafood is really good and worth money spent. The place is crowded always during lunch so better be early for seats.
The ambiance was traditional. The service are good .try karuvadu thokku which was out of the world
The Chettinad chicken and prawn gravy is just taste like my moms cooking.Vangiram Fish is not upto the levelQuantity is good. A bit cost consuming. And the Goli Soda is my favourite one.
One of the worst mess in chennai. These fraud people told sir this is natukozhi gravy but that one is pure Broiler chicken. If you want to waste your money means go and eat otherwise just avoid. Chicken omblet rs 220 but they serve just a ordinary egg omblet. Totally 10 fraud people joined together and open a shop. Ungala ellam seruppala adicha thaan da neenga ellam thirunthuvinga.
Authentic Chettinad non veg mess. Best quality and tasteful homely food. They serve unlimited meals with 7 gravies and Dry fish thokku. All the items are good. Particularly, prawn thokku, karuvadu thokku, fish fry and kola urundai are excellent
Good customer service. Can try different non-veg varities.Tastes like homemade and of good quality..
Briyani and fish fry is too good but need to improve taste of gravies
One of the best places to have non veg meals in Tnagar. Just awesome 😊Best of all : Nethili Thokku
A nice place to have lunch. Open only for lunch. Tried mutton biryani, mutton pushpa, and nattukozhi omlette. Mutton biryani and the omlette are awesome. Avoid mutton pushpa unless you love ghee fried bread with mutton; not nice. One star less for their absurd policy that all of us had to order a main course each!!! Not sure what that brings. We would have ordered more starters instead. And yeah the head waiter can go easy on people instead of picking fights at all the tables.
Earlier the taste used to be so good. After second lockdown , this season the taste is so average.
Taste good. But price very high
Traditional pattukotti style food served in clay pot and banana leaves, Nice ambience, Taste of food is good also we get to taste wide range of graveys for single meal, if you are going there for biriyani taste is not bad but the quantity is pretty less and little spicy for elders. Customer service also good.Available parking for cars are less in number. If you are near by and looking for a traditional home cooked food like experience, give a try you will not be disappointed.
Awesome taste nd. Gud service
There is no option otherwise I would have given no star, the hospitality is good but bad food never ever go there
Found a new place to have yummy Non-veg meals. We visited Pondy Bazaar location and ordered - mutton sukka meals, fish fry meals, brain fry meals. There are various options available for the meals. Unlike the other restaurants, they don’t serve Curries in small bowls. Instead they serve you which means the quantity is not restricted. Authentic Curries prepared in village style. All Curries were bit spicy. Each meals come with their respective exotic dish - say fish fry meals with vanjaram fry, mutton sukka meals with mutton sukka and kola meals with kola urundai. Unlimited rice and they do serve only bottled water. They don’t charge for bottled waters. You can get variety of GOLI soda and flavored ones say - orange, pineapple and Coca Cola. Orange was good and Coca Cola was not that great. The restaurant is similar to our home decorated with dolls from Tanjore. They do sell them. The only issue is space constraint and the tables were congested.I would prefer this mess for their village style authentic Curries and thambi villas for their exotic platters. And it’s much cheaper compared to other mess.An important point to be noted is that there is no option for vegetarian meals
Expensive and spicy food. 5 stars to the hospitality and staff behavior.
This is a place for all the Non-Vegetarian lovers. I have tried this in Tanjore few weeks back and when i heard they had started one in Chennai, couldnt resist myself.Keep your tummy empty before you go there as you will be forced to taste everything they give you. There are 9 varieties of gravy you will have taste which comes within your cost you pay or a meal and you also get a dish of your choice and then a cup of payasam. You will love the way they treat you and people are so warm and i have experienced this in all their branches. If you still have some space after eating all that they serve, please do try the Paan Ice cream...
Not like before.Last it’s taste😔
Awesome non veg chettinattu style restaurant
Had mutton briyani and nattu kozhi meals, taste of food was ok but not bad. Nattu kozhi and gravies given along the meals was too spicy. We couldnt eat much due to this and we had sip of water each time to manage it. So finally asked them to pack remaining food.Liked karuppu kavuni halwa, not too sweet and taste was good. They also providing extra white rice, rasam, curd after having briyani. Its small place, neat and clean and staffs taking care of customer was good.
Better to book a reservation unless you want to wait in a long line!!This is an Excellent spot to get your TUMMY FULL with spicy Tasty Chettinad food.Go with some mutton combo meals to get the best value for money, unless you like seafood best!Great place to go as a gang!!The place is worth its money!!!Lunches are the busiest.Nethili chaandu is great!!Ambience is cool, but the seatings could’ve been more spacey..
Good meals. Lot of varities of gravy.
A right place to have a traditional non vegetarian dishes. Special thing is about the 7 different gravy that they serve along with white rice. Parking space is available. Located in the prime location.
Very nice and fine hotel. Worth for each and every penny.
Combo Meals with 7 varieties of gravy... Awesome taste and best class service and hygiene also. Worth for money. I recommend to dine.
It is a great place to enjoy authentic South Indian Non-vegetarian dishes with genuine southern experience. The flavours of fish, chicken, crab were delicious and was worth the money!
Loved this place.. taste was out of words..Like my grandmother cooks...Traditional food...Must try...it PPL ..Dont miss it..
After a long time ,we friends had a great meal.we felt its bit costly as the non veg meal costed around 240 and 300 rupees. The way they served, treated and the food taste is awesome!
Recently in chennai these kind of restaurants are becoming familiar and among those restaurants this restaurant become more familiar among chennai people. They prepare masala from the place where this restaurant orginated. They have many combos with unlimited rice and non veg gravies like crab, fish, Kaadai, naatukozhi etc.Taste of food was good compared to other restaurants.
Now days taste is not so good
Super .... Different types of gravy is very nice...
Nice foodTasty foodBut parking facility needs to be improved
Everything was good like food , staff behaviour, place
Really good...All must try more than once... Hotel has a different menus with main dishes of 7 different staters...Must try... Taste wise its amazing... only the disappointed me with waiting for a table bcz of more crowd to taste a good food..and waiting will not take more than 15min...
Tasty food 😋 do try their meals..!!
Fantastic menuFabulous TasteUnmatched Service
Good South Indian Non-Veg Meals. Taste of Tamil Nadu, Priced a little less than rs500 per head. Thanks to the management for the Hearty Meal
Best place to taste authentic village style food, unlimited meals with 7 curry varieties. I think Price is increased recently. On an average meals cost around 300 per person, but felt worth for it. In addition there are other food options as well.
Poor compared to tanjore, taste service standards etc
A full meal will overflow your stomach, have different varieties meal varities. Karupati halwa and pangarkandu palcova are lit🔥
Top class biryani. The kola urundai is to die for. Itll cost around 400rs per head but it will be worth every paisa.
Delicious food, Awesome service. The food was excellent for the quantity and quality. Especially the fish gravy was awesome. I recommend everyone to taste the unlimited meals in this place. The dessert served was ultimate. Nothing can match the authenticity of food the restaurant.
Worst hotel too spicy better eat sea food in pattinappakam
That is good place to eat like village food.
