A small and tiny place. The restaurant is located in the hundred feet road, Velacherry. The restaurant is in upstairs. In Chennai, I tried many restaurants which provide Kerala food. Also, one of the busiest restaurants in Chennai town. Out of them, Malabar Kitchen is the best. They provide a unique taste, must try. Timely service and good ambience. The service was super-fast & the dishes were super-tasty. Because of the taste, its always busy and flooded with people. Very friendly staff and down to earth management. Credit cards are accepted. Interior works are really very nice. The restaurant air-conditioned. Waiters and cleaning staff do their job well. A good spot for Kerala food lovers in Chennai. The desserts too were very good. A calm atmosphere. Good ambience to have food with family and friends. Can get crowded during holidays and weekends with waiting time for seating. The drawbacks, in my opinion, is having to climb up the steps on a very heavy stomach, Do not have parking space and very limited seating capacity. Reasonable price. Good staff and good management. I really suggest this restaurant for Kerala food lover and food lovers, worth a visit. I wish them very best.

One of the Kerala Cusine with the authentic Kerala food taste. A big applause for the interior and maintenance. The lightings were good and attractive too. Restaurant is maintained very good and is clean and tidy with an appealing look. You can taste all the basic types of food like Puttu kadala curry or chicken curry and mutton curry too. You can also get Malabar parota, Kappa, Liver fry of chicken and mutton both. Thalassery biriyani is available. All sea foods are available here like Prawn, fish, squid, crab, oyster and all these varieties as well as desserts like Elaneer payasam, semiya payasam and paruppu paysam as well and still more.

No crowd. Quality, quality and price are OK compared to similar restaurants nearby. It has only limited seating capacity, around 40.Though it is a Kerala restaurant, all the staff are north Indians, except the owner. The main drawback is parking, there is no car parking; not even proper 2 wheeler parking. But Vijayanagar bus stand is in walkable distance.

Had been to the ADYAR branch of MALABAR KITCHEN last week for dinner. The service was super-fast & the dishes were super-tasty. Reminded me of my granmas cooking. We were a gang of 5 & ALL of us appreciated it,which is,in itself,a rare accomplishment. The desserts too were very good. The only drawback in my opinion is having to climb up the steps on a very heavy stomach!!! Heres wishing them the very best! 🙂

I will recommend everyone to visit Atleast once this Kerala restaurant in Velachery, chennai. The food was too delicious. As the name indicates every dish has a mere touch of Malabar style. It is a small unit of Malabar kitchen situated in the busy highway. The major drawback of the restaurant is there no space for parking and you cannot even park your car/bike nearby to the hotel. Since it is very difficult to find a parking space nearby the national highway, many people will avoid this restaurant. Except the parking issue, you everyone can have a try on this restaurant who loves Kerala dishes. The cost is bit high. But compared to the taste, its worth.

I had Poratta with Kozhi porichathu, which is super in taste, gives a real feeling of Kerala(Except the gravy with poratta). A really nice environment with old songs. Very interesting thing is the water bottle in each table by reusing liquor bottles. Good staff and Clean environment. Parking is little difficult. All other things are fine.

Ordered via uber eats. Worst food ever had in chennai. Ordered chicken curry with parota. Only tomato curry was given and had chicken pieces in it. Taste was very worst . The meals they give is via disposable plastic plate with compartments as a mini meal came closed with plastic . The meals came spoiled when it reached and only positive note was it had fish in it. The fish curry never had fish taste(only coconut taste) and the chicken curry was made of tomato. In thakkali thokku they have made gravy and added chicken. Only the rice is Kerala

This is a quite and good Malabar restaurant. The food tastes good and the prices are very reasonable especially the combo. The service is good enough, so is the hospitality. We had kerala porotta Chicken combo @130 which was really worth. The Natholi fry @150 had very good quantity and tasted just fine. All in all its a Malabar restaurant to check out if you are in the area. Probably not worth coming from somewhere far, as chennai do have better kerala offerings.
