The place is walkable distance from little Mount Metro and also near to airport. Friendly staff who are genuinely interested in making sure you are comfortable. Beds and rooms are clean. Got to meet diverse people with many stories. Youll get to meet the most gentle cat named Babu. The events are something to look forward to. My stay here brought back the memories of my hostel days.

Perfect place to stay when you travel. I booked a one day stay and extended it for 2 weeks. Felt a serene vibe and I was able to work peacefully there. Would recommend it highly! So friendly staff !

Hostel Gandhi is a genuine place to stay in the city. I have been here multiple time and never been let down. With transport facilities a mere walking distance away the hostel is perfectly placed to go in and out of town without any hassle. The washrooms are clean with laundry facilities and parking for two wheelers also available. Sadhu who runs the hostel is a great host. A well read man with whom I have enjoyed a breadth of conversations. They host movie nights, open mics, sharing circles and other events in the weekends which is fun to meet new people from the city and express oneself on stage. There are board games, books available to read. Many of the books are gifted by people of various countries and languages giving you a variety of literature to dive into. The walls of the hostel are always open for artists to have a go at. If youre in Chennai I would definitely suggest you to stay here.

Dont go there if you hate cats. Too many cats. Not a great ambience.

A very nice & homely stay option, located very close to the Little Mount metro station.The hosts are really very friendly, with their cute cats. Also the terrace is full of different plants which really creates a peaceful environment to just sit & relax after sunsets.Also very close to some nice eateries, all within walking distance.

Luckily I found this hostel. it was a great experience and a different feel. we can opt for a week in reasonable price. but I stayed for one day. very peaceful place with many plants in and around premises. owner lives in the premises. Im not sure about food. u get good mineral water and wifi I dint use so no idea about the speed it provides. ac u get at only nights. nearly 7 beds in a room. they have 4 to 5 cats as pets. owner and staff was very cool and cooperative type. I dont bring my lap or else I would have stayed at least for a week. thats it guys..if ur looking for low budget nd decent one go for this.

It was amazing two days stay at gandhi hostel when i was in Chennai. The place was clean, spacious and decorative.The owner of this hostel Mr Sadhoo is such a cool guy and a story teller, he is helpful, talkative and humble. I enjoyed my stay while listening his stories through out the time.The hostel has its own kitchen where you can cook your food by own.

I had been 1 week alone in chennai. The hostel was very comfortable like home. I have enjoyed company of the hostel guys (sadhu).He was very nice person and the people around is also more comfortable.costly wise its affordable per day. Its more secure and safe.

This is the most worst place i ever visited. No maintenance. No hygiene. No sanitisation. No proper bedding. Not exactly the same as the photos uploaded.Bathrooms are so so smelly. No arrangement of even handwash. There are also A.C. timings and you cannt use fan with it. Highly disappointed with that place.

This quaint little travellers hostel is run by two friendly and helpful staff (Sadhu and durby). The dorm rooms are air-conditioned and theres Wi-Fi throughout the property. Quiet workspaces, a kitchen and terrace to hang out in the evenings. Occasional activities and BBQs organized by the staff. Restaurants, pubs and metro station are within walkable distance. Extended stay is recommended for business travelers and backpackers.

So at first let me introduce myself , I am a Travel Vlogger who is out exploring South India right now & prefers Budget Travelling. So when I got to know about this hostel, I had a great feeling that I will make great friends when I entered in hostel & met Sadhu (Owner) as well as the ambience of the hostel itself.So I stayed here for around a week, pitched my tent on terrace in which not only I slept, other people also enjoyed , we did chats sitting inside till 3 am sometimes & sometimes other guys took over my tent & slept inside 😅Then ofcourse I slept in the dorm which are so comfortable & amazing in itself with AC running overnight to give you a resting sleep. 😊And the people I met there, some of them live here on monthly basis because they enjoy this place & the people who stays here, they are friends like you will not meet everyday & atleast not in every hostel for sure. ☀️Thank you once again Sadhu, Durby & everyone who is not just in my contact list but also in my heart as a friend. 😁

Very nice hostel with all amenities.

We stayed in a double room at Hostel Gandhi during the quarantine. The room was clean and had AC and a fan. The staff was really welcoming and helpful. We had really good local food, and pretty much as much as we want. The breakfast is included with the night and is copious. They also offer lunch and dinner mainly homemade or ordered nearby and is always really tasty. There is a roof top which is really nice, we used it mainly for workout and yoga at the end of the day.

I stayed here for more than a month. The hostel is located at a prime location, Saidapet in Chennai. Its so close to the main road and accessible to all public transports, viz. Halda and Little Mount Bus Station and Little Mount Metro station are within 300 metres from the Hostel. The hostel is like a homestay where you have full access to the Kitchen, Washing Machine, Common Room (which has a mini library as well), roof top and a common area for Yoga/ Exercise. The place is clean and spacious. The Hostel owner Sadhu and the manager Dorbi are such warm, helping and genuine people. They are realistic and would try to help you out genuinely wherever possible but arent flattering at all which I find really comfortable. I had a really warm, comfortable and relaxed stay at the hostel. Conversations with Sadhu were real, reflective, fun and true, I had an amazing time chatting for long hours with him. Dorbi is such a resourceful man, a little shy to begin a conversation with, but a really warm and true person. Sadhu is such a vibrant, exuberant and a really open man, he has multiple ideas to build a community space at the hostel, so if you are there, you can have an absolute fun time participating in MOVIE NIGHTS, ART THERAPY, SHARING CIRCLE, BARBEQUE NIGHTS and much much more. Yes Tamil is their first language but not a constraint at all, they are equally comfortable in English language as well. I came out as more enriched human being. The environment there is so good, like how the world should be, where we agree to disagree. I could have long conversations with Sadhu, where we arent of the same view but without it being turned into a conquer quest debate. Most of the time I was doing some meditation or rituals, even though the owner and manager, they were more like atheist but they would never say/do anything which would make me feel uncomfortable at all. Also I love animals, and there were 5 beautiful cats which filled me with more love. Big shout out to this hostel. Absolutely loved it.

The hostel is located very near to IIT Madras. Is near to little mount metro stop. The concept of backpackers hostel is New concept on the heart of a traditional city. The experience was very unique. There are very few safety lockers which makes it difficult to store your valuable possession in the hostel. Hospitality was good. There is no hot water available for bath. All the other mentioned facilities are there.It might be a bit difficult to locate at first as its in a narrow gully. If you follow the Google maps carefully you will end up in right place. The food is above average. The area is well maintained and clean. There is a adyar Anand Bhavan hotel nearby which provides varities of food in good quality.

Hotel was sort of located inside the street & was very difficult to identify it from the road so had to call the receptionist to the main road to located it. Apart from this everything else was great here. The room & their services were very satisfactory. Though they have food facility here but I didnt had it as I left the place early in the morning. Overall stay of mine here was comfortable.

We spent two days in Hostel Gandhi and we felt really comfortable there. The place is very clean and spacious. The food is delicious at a very good price! The guys are very kind and helpfull. The location is very good. In a quiet road and close to buses, metro and railway sations. We highly recommend it!

Good Hostel to stay in Chennai with cheap price. There are lot of traveller from all around the world. Good friendly atmosphere. The host was amazing provide all tourist information family dinner is available at only rs 100. Good location in Chennai near to the metro station and restaurants. You can also find govt. Buses to go anywhere in the city but theyre little experience.. overall good place to stay for solo travelers.

Great place to stay near the airport, they have very good rooms and beds, and staff. Cleanliness is been maintained very well. Stayed there twice and enjoyed my stay both the time, found some really cool people to chat and even shared taxi to the airport.

Hostel Gandhi is in a prime location with an ideal host! The owner, Sadhu works very hard to create a comfortable and welcoming environment. The property is fantastic, a 3 story building with a wide open floor plan and air conditioned rooms. It was great to visit the hostel and chat with Sadhu, I hope to visit again soon!

Wonderful hosts who made sure my stay was as comfortable as possible. Really polite and helpful. The location of the hostel is at a walking distance from metro station, making it easily accessible from airport or railway station and all other areas covered via the metro network!

Its a decent backpackers hotel, but compared to other such hotels such as Zostel,GoStops, Backpacker Panda,etc Ive visited in other cities, this place is not at par in regard to cleanliness and amenities.The owner is helpful though and the location is prime, with Little Mount Metro Station at a walkable distance.

Spent 2 days in the dormitory which has air condition and locker. Francis took really good care of us cooking delicious food and sharing some of his time to chat about his life, projects and dreams. Good location!

Excellent location with perfect team, I stayed for 3 days in hostel Gandhi, I can surely say this the best place for travelers and backpackers, the staff are very friendly, the best thing about the hostel is homely food and meeting with other travelers, one can have nice conversation and information exchange, the hostel has a beautiful roof to chill.

Very untidy place to live. Owner has 6 cats and entire house reeks of cat food. Plus there is no security, I parked my bike and got into any random room at 4AM in midnight and no one noticed, not even attender. all the doors were unlocked. you have to keep your luggage under common bunker bed, so no security there too. Random people are staying long time keeping mess in common room. I checked out 1 day early than my booking as place was unbearable.
