Angela Easwari temple near the army barracks is a 43 year old temple. reconstructed many times from thatched hut.The main attraction is the 50 Feet Statue of Ayyanar the The God of Protection.He is also known as Muneeswarar.The temple is on the banks of Adayar River which has lost its flow and has become a drain.The temple is neatly maintained.Has the sanctum of Vinayagar,Angala Parameshwari, apart from naga deities. There is also a sanctum for Murugan in the praharam.The Ayyanar statue is also 43 years old and is built by Burmese Refugees who came into India and settled in various parts including Chennai.An Ayyanar statue or Temple is built outside the village, as Ayyanar is a god of protection to the village.Similarly this temple would have been built outside Chennai, currently the city has expanded and crossed the temple compound by leaps and bounds.

Very good temple power full god .!

One of the old temple on the bank of the Coovum river. Surely it should be best place when the river was potable. With sewage untreated water mixing with river ruined and brought the river to this sorry state. Still gives feel like it is some where in village. But it is in middle of the busy city.Some pictures taken on recent thiruvizha (festival) on 8th April 2018.

What a majestic statue....felt like I was somewhere in koladeiva koil in Trichy/madurai side...nice pujaris who allowed us to make photos and videos...they explained all about the temple very patiently even during business hours...good place

Temple is very Nice and attractive. Many cement made sculptures and idols are under construction inside the temple. The Big Idols Muneeswaran and the Horse are very big statues Looks very Good and surrounded by them story telling sculptures are looks good with beautiful painting. This temple is having good space around the main temple. I have visited to do pooja on behalf of my kid. This temple is famous for Unknown kids illness and some of the reasons like kids keep on crying and no sleep..e.t.c reasons we can take them here to get shaanthi.Everyone believe this Goddess and the temple. Annadaanam will be offering for 10 days for every year. WE can also donate some money for it.

There are two ways to temple...1. Through Burma colony but only autos are allowed.2. Through nandanam ( lane opposite to buhari hotel)Very few shops are there near temple.To keep pongal separate room is available just opposite to the temple.Bricks are there but for veragu which can be purchased for 20/- from nearby shops.Archaana ticket is 5/-.The roads are very narrow.Angala parameshwari temple is also associated with this temple.Timings - 6am to 12pm and 5pm to 8pm.
