A well known landmark in north Chennai. Developed a lot over the years but still need some clearance. Cleaners are doing a great job in maintaining the station clean but the authorities have to clear the pending work materials. It look dangerous with wires on the platforms.Passengers are crossing the railway tracks without any fears, vendors taking their stocks on tracks, people have to be more responsible. Small shops are available serving water and foods, quite helpful. Waiting area is very spacious and good for passengers hide under the shade while waiting for train. Trains going past every 10-15 minutes. Southern railway parking is quite cheap and affordable for everyone.

All Bangalore side trains go through this station no minimum amenities like water toilets drinking water but charging points and sitting benches available plenty. Better compared to other stations but its so horrible to watch people spit on the ground and keeping subway dirty all the time. Its like a toxic zone whenever I use the subway route to pass platforms.

Well connected in terms of transport. 24x7 commutes available around this railway station. Any express trains going to Chennai Central Railway station via Perambur Railway Station, will have a halt at Perambur. This helps the passengers as a better option to de-board and take another mode of transport to reach their deatination.

Important Station in North Madras. All trains are to be stopped here to facilitate passengers going towards Avadi and Areas like Kolathur, Madhavaram get down here saving lot of time.Station is being maintained very Nicely. In Olden days itself, this Station has got Subway with a Ramp connecting all the Platforms. There are Stall selling Cool Drinks, Snacks and Hot Beverages.Ample Car Parking Area. Bus Stop is there in front of the Station. Good Restaurents like Sangeetha are available just opposite the Station.
