Evenings are the busiest hours at this place... Taste of the food is amazing and quantity is also very good. The price is pretty decent for economy preferred class... The food variety they serve are a lot and one will definitely be confused to choose from it...The family hall is available only after 7pm during the evening. The hall will be crowded and one have to wait for sometime. The family hall on 1st floor can hold upto 75 people and the hall get filled on the weekends and holidays only....

Got the chance to try their 50rs mini tiffin after 3 failed attempts. Go in early to avail their cheap mini tiffin option. The price is very affordable. You get everything in the picture along with either a tea or coffee for 50 rupees. Usually is served only around 8am. Tastewise the idli and pongal were okay, their vada and sambar were good and dosa was not at all good. The restaurant seating and ambience is very nice, and the restaurant is easily located being on the main road.

I hated the restaurant.I saw the menu card online and was really spell bound with the variety they had. So my brother and I wanted to try this restaurant and out we went.We arrived at 2.00 pm and waited on for the next 30 mins. No chairs were provided. No water was offered for the standing guests which I was a part of. After we got a seat we had to share with 2 other people which I personally did not like as, where will I keep my dishes?(I am a foodie:))Still our last hope was that the food will be worth for the wait. Well, the food was attractive but the gobi fried rice that I ordered had just turmeric boiled cauliflower pieces in a normal fried rice. This was such a disappointment as the waiter did not say what to expect and my past experiences say that it should have atleast been fried.Well, we even ate Paneer 65. I would strongly recommend against this item as it did not have salt or spice and was filled with oil.Now I have a bad stomach ache. BEWARE.Hope Akshayam changes it food quality or customers will be heartbroken.I would strongly recommend not going to this hotel rather you can try other hotels nearby like Sri Mithai, Sharavana Bhavan, Adayar Ananda Bhavan.I will never go to this hotel if it was the only one in the world rather I can stay hungry.
