It seems to be a renovated hotel of past age. Ambience is very good. Service is also good. A good dining place for Vegetarians. Cost is little high but on par with other restaurants, so not a bad deal. One cannot find any other such pure vegetarian hotel near Pantheon Road.

Old world charm with modern facilities. Very old establishment having long tradition and keeping up with modern times has made this place still very attractive to visit again and again. You feel at home here.

Worst Service. No Taste. But Car parking is Best. Otherwise single star is too much.

September being a month of marriages according to the Tamil Calendar. I attended a wedding at this hotel. Booked a room for myself here as it would be convenient to attend the wedding. This hotel is an old hotel and known for vegetarian food. I checked in at the hotel as per the timings. It comprises of 6 buildings ehich includes reception, restaurant, auditorium and 3 buildings for rooms. When you enter the reception building you come accross a huge mirror which is beautiful and has a vast seating area and on the other side of the reception building you can find the map of the hotel and the founders photo on the wall. The reception has an old look, the receptionist hands you over the keys of the room. They explained about the room service and other things. He called a room service person to carry our bags to the room. When we come out of the building you can see Block 1 and on the right side and a restaurant called Abhinandhan. Opposite to that is the Block 2 and next to it is Block 3 where in we were staying. The two blocks look normal whereas another block is in a round shape . I haven’t seen a building like this anywhere. In every room the from the ground to the top floor is circular. Every block has a lift and stairs. Now coming to the room, it was very large and spacious and has the latest television with a dish, the washroom has a traditional look and the balcony was also vast. They have an air conditioned audiotorium. They have an open space for get together and other events which can accommodate around 500-1000 people. The next day I went to restaurant to have my breakfast when I entered I saw the traditional way sitting and was spacious. The order was taken in an old – fashioned way. I ordered Plain dosa, wada. The dosa was served very crisp and hot and same goes to with wada. But I found a lot of chillies in the wada. In the last, I ordered a fruit juice since I don’t take milk or coffee . When I asked them what all fruit juice do you have. They Ashoka special grape fruit juice,……..etc and I thought let me give try that’why I ordered Ashoka special fruit juice and they served it in fruit juice glass. Forgot to say about the parking in the premises . The have ample space for car parking.Overall : The experience was good and I would recommend others to try this hotel as well

While the property still reserves the old skole charm. But the poor food taste & high prices overshadow the legacy.Either the hotel demands a management rejig or it would see its fate go down the soil in the years to come.

Not like it use to be. Aandhra meals are not actually aandhra meal, its the same Madras meals with the podi and chutney extra.

Great variety of veg food from south meals to north meals, Chinese , snacks like sandwich French fries, dosa, uttappam etc. Superb tasty. Pre independence kind of ambience but well maintained with old conditioned fans and spacious seating with lot of social distancing between. Staffs are masked properly and copious amount of sanitiser at the entry. Huge car and 2 wheeler parking lot inside the gate.

Its a quaint old place ,its calm and the food cuisine was udipi and the rates were decent.overall it was a pretty good experience

Did not stay here but a great breakfast here. The sambhar here is little sweet but it has its own taste. The grape juice here is a must. Its so yummy i could rate it 5/5. Great ambience and good service too.

Table service was really bad. Had to wait for more than 15 minutes before i had to raise my voice at the cash counter for someone to attend( not much crowd). Saving grace was the taste of food.

The receptionist K.V bhaskaran in the restaurant has no way to behave and does not even properly answer basic queries when the restaurant was almost empty...just kept blabbering like some frustrated waiter... Andhra meals, south indian special meals & north indian thali. Spacious clean & hygienic. A little pricey but not expensive. With ample parking space. The only place they need to improve is the time taken to take order and serve it..cld see a lot of the bearers & order takers standing with no work but still heaistant to ask for orders.

Hotel Ashoka is one of the best hotel that is available with affordable cost in middle of the city. The place gives a old look with clean and neat environment which I and my family like very much. The complementary breakfast is really worth. Most of the city centric places is very much accessible from the hotel. The stay rooms are very nice. I strongly recommend the hotel for everyone.
