I used to go here as a kid, 2009-2014. Honestly, 2009-2014 were the best years of my life, and the best times in general. My time at this school was so nostalgic.Sishya is a very well funded school; theyve got a nice canteen (hows Rajesh doing btw?), a sizeable amount of classrooms and good grounds, and many events.School camp 2013 is one of those things Ill never forget; watching Despicable Me 2 and Chennai Express on a big screen when they first came out.They used to have a book fair, a fete, an annual dance that the kids used to prepare for (we used to love skipping classes for that) and some nice theatre productions. Eh, maybe Im just taking away the kiddy stuff from there because I was a kid when I used to go there.Anyway, so the teachers were strict (watch out!). If you misbehave, they send you out of class. Sometimes they yell at you. And I dont know if that was the norm in India. Im pretty sure it was; may still be.A lot of the people that used to go and still go to this school are filthy rich (we had occasional visits from Thalapathi and other famous people like Prakash Raj and all that). People used to queue up for autographs and stuff.Anyway, enough of my rant. Sishya was my childhood.

My daughter studied Class XI and XII in the Humanities stream. The best life-changing experience. Thanks to the High Quality Management and Staff. Students are treated with respect. The teaching methods are wholesome kindling their intellectual curiosity and love for life-long learning. The heritage feel of the school I felt as a parents is memorable. Well-defined academic calendar and planned events. Every event was relevant and was highly inspiring and elevating. Everything was planned and nothing ad hoc. Staff and students left school by 3pm. No unnecessary staying back. Only open house on just two Saturdays in the whole year. Neat 5 days working. A small canteen. Good playground. Reasonable fees. Contrary to the popular assumption, the school caters to middle class as well. There is both diversity and inclusion in the classrooms. Parents are well-informed and no scope for panic. Five stars for good coaching in academic and athletic activities. But minority based education institution inclined to Christian ideology obviously. Those interested can send their kids. The big nuisance at this area is numerous cars loiter to drop and pick up children during school hours make residents of this area sic.

Excellent Institution. One of the best in the Country! I am just a Commoner not a celebrity & My daughters study here. In terms of fees, Sishya-Adyar is the most reasonable (in Private Schools) in Chennai.

Great school, lovely location. Founder Ki Thomas. An old place converted to a school. Relatively new in school years, very progressive.

I have great respect for the school because its definitely quality oriented. Its surely a school offering quality education and good sports facilities. But I wouldnt rate it the best for following reasons. Its unequal representation of society economic section wise, lack of importance given to traditional music and dance obviously because it is perceived to be Hindu rather than as Indian arts, subtle messaging of Christian faith due to strong Christian management are major cons. Its a good school for someone looking at just academic growth and for someone for whom an American public school culture is an aspiration. And at the end of day its a Christian minority institution so obviously when the law allows them to reserve 50% seats for people of Christian faith, all the talk about transparency and fairness in admission process should be considered with a pinch of salt.

Best school in the world omg what education;)

For all nobodys who are aspiring for admission in Sishya.... do not waste your time.Sishya is a haven for all the celebrities in the area to whom obviously they cannot refuse admissions. Secondly, its a Christian minority institution and they give first priority for Christians. Thirdly, I have seen parents standing with all kinds of reference letters and influential people escorting them to the interviews. Its obvious that the admission process is just a smokescreen. This is not what one calls as transparent. May be 20% of their seats go to general public and for that you need to reserve when you are still pregnant !

If you can pay for Sishya, (lucky man), then go. I would recommend. My 3 children spent 2 years in Shishya in the context of French school. They have unforgettable memories of their Sishyas years.
