The insistence on activity based learning is a major pull factor. So much attention on value building and the overall education and experience. Also with the pandemic situation, I was initially skeptical on the effectiveness of online learning. But it has to be said that Darwin Montessori has done a great job in allaying those fears. The transition to online learning was super smooth.Teachers are smart and friendly and most of your feedbacks are attended to and asked for also.

With great pleasure I would tell that its good to be a part of Darwin Montessori School.Of-course on Day#1 both my daughter and myself felt it difficult to stay away but on seeing the way how the Teachers handle the Toddlers at Darwin, its more than feel at homeI do strongly believe that Darwin will play a major role in my daughter growing up towards Independence by building confidence, competence, self-esteem and respect for others. These words might be too big for toddlers aged 2-4, but at Darwin they do nurture kids in a very appreciable way.In simple words - More than an approach to Education, Darwin Montessori is an approach to lifeHow can I conclude without talking about the Ambiance, one such lovely place where Kids will love to stay in, when they are away from their home.Great going people..!! Hope to see lot more branches in and around Chennai.

They say that when a student is ready the teacher will appear - a true story in our case when we looking for the best montessari school . Darwin just fell into our eyes and we didnt think twice . Ms. Shantha , the director briefed us about the school system , ideology and student life which stay true to the words as said. Children learn about daily life skills along with academics. Our daughter is thrilled every morning to go to school and learn new things for the day- and she is equally thrilled to talk about the day she had .Darwin follows the perfect Montessori methods , and following the same at home is fun as well. The school conducts workshop often to educate and bring awareness to parents about how to follow Montessori at home -The school is very dedicated in every way .The faculties are very friendly , approachable and always looking forward to help.We as parents are very happy with Darwin for the strong foundation given to our daughter. Today shes very independent for her age and it is possible only with her teachers.

As a parent, the best gift I can give to my child is a place where he Loves to Stay, Loves to Learn, Loves to Play, Loves to Eat and Loves to Relax as well...!!! And I am glad that I found Darwin in Chennai. Have seen Montessori educations in abroad while I was working and I am really happy that Chennai has one such school which fulfils my expectations completely. The vision of the Management on Montessori Education, speaks the future. Great ambience, lovely support staffs and a perfect place for a child to kick off his/her schooling. Thumbs Up...!!!

As a parent , i believe that the best decision i could have taken for my child was admitting him in Darwin Montessori house as against the reputed traditional .The team of Darwin led by Ms Shantha Shankar has set a classic example that there no limitations when its comes to imparting knowledge is concerned.I have witnessed holistic development of my child . The teachers there constantly share feedback about the child .They are always open to suggestions from parents .They also give equal importance to our culture , all the festivals are celebrated and the children are briefed about the festivals...I am glad I put him in a school which has given him a very strong foundation in his formative years

The best thing that I have done for my son is admitting in Darwin Montessori. He had wonderful learning of knowledge in his own pace without pressure of peer comparision. It has a good faculty team who gives attention to every individual kid and helps in their growth with care. It imparts self discipline and order gradually on the child which can be observed in day to day activity of the kid. Beautiful ambience where kids love to go everyday. Darwin has the perfect montessori environment. The kids enjoy the celebration of each and every festival. The day to day activity of the child is known to the parent through the school app. Thanks to Ms.Shantha and her team for the support and guidance all these years for him.

Excellent school for Montessori education!I have visited more than a handful of Montessori schools, but Darwin is certainly a class apart. Not just with its niche interiors but as well with its distinctive spaces, accessorized aptly to engage a child to learn, while having fun, it is class! Our interaction with the directress/staff, their enthusiasm levels & their knowledge on the subject only helped us to steer down our choice to Darwin. With no second thoughts, I have already enrolled my son onto the primary program!

We as a Parent really got humiliated once again, seeing our 3.5 year old child denied entry, waiting in hot sun outside in the month of March at 9.50 am in the morning. The worst part we could see the teachers seeing us from inside and refusing and hiding inside not to open the gate. We waited for more than 5 mins and we called the class teacher and heard she saying that she doesnt have any control over it. What the hell in the world one miss shantha thinks, is it a crime for a 3.5 year old to enter late? It is a disgrace for any one to do this act that too without informing and taking decisions to hurt someone personaly. We did not enroll our little one in another school, since we heard that they will not let in after stipulated time. As a working parents we never wanted to get caught in the stress of dealing all that. If miss shantha understood that in Montessori every child is different and not to be treated indifferently for their incapabilities and not to compare one child with another. Why did she treat us with indifference and controling things just because some child and the parents come late. She just proved she is not level headed by locking the gate for a 3.5 year old. She takes things very very personally. I guess we stirred her ego by not following her timings. She said it is indian mentality to not keep up with the time. She advised us even to take kellogs to get good metabolism, you must be ve headstrong about what you know and you care a damn to others inputs, you got to hold your horses for sure. The worst part is about their celebrating culture. The world is heading towards minimalism and getting rid of junks. I see two to three birthdays plus cake cutting & return gifts, mostly plastics and unwanted stuff which our kid dint even bother to check. I really pitty at the level of eco consciousness the kids will be nurtured and gets cultivated under her guidance. Just want to keep parents happy by doing all this. We were the only parents who din encourage and participate in this madness. After conversing with miss shantha at times I realised I should never judge a book by its cover. Here the cover was so promising. I found lot of incoherence in the way she talks. She says no fictional stories only factual stories to kids, but then I saw her talking about lord krishna to children on krishna jjayanthi. She served meat on milad un nabi to children. Being a vegan that was a blow in my head. Just wondering if did miss shantha really talked about the protein story or the factual cruelty story that is behind the meat she served to children...She once interfered in an unmannerly way while we were discussing with the class teacher and she imperatively disconnected us from the teacher by telling her to get back to her work and walked off just like that. We got offended and called her after 10 minutes to tell what she did was completely mindless and had arguements over her attitude towards dealing adults that too parents. We were overlooking so many things with utmost patience but this time she crossed her limitsPlease guys do the original adaptation of anything you copy. Do not dilute to suit your needs or to impress the parents.I cant digest the fact that some kid in the name of passion throwing lots of money and doing something which is not her cup of tea. Some one needs more patience and understanding of the sorrounding world they are living in and without humiliating any one at their free will. Ofcourse marketing and communication is mandatory for every business to run, but not all the time you do something & convert that for promotional usage. Please i request miss shantha to focus more on nurturing young minds rather than blocking and locking a gate for a 3.5 year old kid, just because she felt to teach a lesson on dicipline to the 3.5 year old and his parents with in her judiciary and line of control which was not in the terms and conditions of Darwin Montessori at the time of admission. Oh! Is it like any changes will be sole discretion of the management. Thats sick.

Being a Montessori trained parent myself, my expectations were high when I started hunting for a school for my toddler two years ago. Darwin Montessori House of Children exceeded my expectations in every way — the most striking and inspiring (and obvious) observation one can make is how the school upholds the Montessori pedagogy in every little decision and excecution it makes. This means that naturally, each and every child’s emotional, intellectual, physical, and spiritual developmental needs are held as the utmost priority. Really, what more could a parent wish for?The Montessori environment at Darwin is of course designed for the children, to meet and encourage their curiosity, and help develop their skills through activities that engage their five senses. It is also worth noting that the environment is aesthetically very beautiful. The children are aware that the environment is prepared for them, and they feel respected and valued that such care is taken to create such an environment for them. My own daughter boasted proudly to our family members about how her school is “very beautiful and neat, with the whole world on the wall” (there is a map of the continents painted on the wall). The directress Ms. Shantha and her entire staff model kindness, courtesy, honesty, respect, and compassion for the children. I can list numerous instances in which I have experienced this through my own daughter, and since that would turn this into a novella, I will stick to one anecdote. The children are requested to address all the staff members at Darwin as “aunty”. A while ago, my daughter asked me “Amma, at Darwin, everyone is aunty to me. Then why is it at home, I call the housekeeper ‘akka’?” I understood the underlying question of respect and equality that she was asking me. So I said, “You are right. I am sorry I didn’t notice this error before you pointed it out to me... what would you like to call akka instead?” And she replied “Aunty or Athai, because she is older than you. I will ask her what she wished to be called as”. My daughter wouldn’t have tapped into this level of compassion and sense of justice if it weren’t for all the amazing staff at Darwin modelling it for her consistently everyday! No preaching, no moral lessons given! The children are SHOWN the right way to behave, to act and treat others.Parents are invited to workshops regularly to help understand their children’s developmental needs and how best to address them. Ms. Shantha makes sure that these workshops are never judgemental or pressurising. She gives practical suggestions that would help make a more peaceful family. The teachers are more than happy to clear up doubts about a behavioural issue a parent might be having with their child. They treat each child as an individual, and adapt their approach to suit each child’s needs.Everyday, I witness my daughter absorbing every little detail about the world around her like a sponge, and I sleep peacefully at night knowing that the world I and all the people at Darwin have given her is a wonderful one — one that every child deserves.

One of the best schools in Chennai, and maybe even in India for preschoolers. Thanks to Shantha and all the teachers at Darwin for doing it with so much passion, and genuine care for the children! Our son has been going there for the last 3 years, and absolutely LOVES it, so do WE :) we always ask him at the end of EVERY day how was school? and every single time he has said It was good :) I feel like he is really learning in Darwin, as opposed to most of the other schools where they are just memorizing numbers and alphabets. Yes, alphabets and numbers are also part of teaching in Darwin(apart from science/history/geography etc), but so are teaching the other important things in life: compassion, honesty, appreciation, responsibility, respect, perseverance, tolerance, and discipline. Darwin does an excellent job at that!Regarding the timing of the school, our son encourages us to be on time to be in school. Yes, you read that right...our son encourages to be on time to school! To think that most of us as adults whine about being 10-15 mins late, and the doors being closed...our son, when he was 3 years old, wanted us to be on time. How amazing is that! The school has a generous policy allowing you to drop children between 8.30 am to 9.30 am. 9 to 9.15 is grace time, 9.15 to 9.30 is late (but still acceptable) Having stayed in USA, I can say, that is actually a LOT of time. In most countries, they would maybe at the most have a 30 minute interval, not 60 mins! if you are beyond that time, you have to go home! of course there can be exceptions, but not for repeat offenders. We feel bad as parents if we drop him anytime after 9 am, like even 9.05 am. we have been late once(like around 9.25 am), and do our best not to repeat it. As that would not only mean that we are teaching our kids that we can be late, but also makes it difficult for the teachers to leave the other kids alone and attend to us. If at all, I would recommend Darwin to reduce the time interval to 30 mins, maybe from 8.45 to 9.15I am so glad that these policies(keeping time), and other things(life lessons) they teach, and follow in Darwin (for example: keeping the shoes in the shoe rack before entering the school/house) is not only helping our kids grow up us responsible and disciplined kids, but also making us parents be more responsible towards our kids! Thank you Darwin Montessori!

My search for alternative preschools led to connect with Shantha. I was impressed with the school set up and Shanthas conviction towards the Montessori system of education. We enrolled our boy just before he turned two and we have grown so much together in these past year and a half. Along with M, I have picked up a few lessons on patience, tolerance and discipline myself. The school focuses on key developmental stages, encouraging cooperative play while being child- centered. Children naturally learn self discipline and order from the classroom environment. Shantha and her team facilitate hands-on learning experience, inspiring creativity and developing various skills in children.I thank Shantha and her team for all that they do and continue to do for nurturing young minds, instilling social cause and shaping them into wonderful human beings. ❤️❤️
