Do I have an option to choose less than 1 star? Food is not that worth for the hype given. This mamas attitude is what irritated me more. Dont have courtesy to speak soft with customers. May be he act only if we bring camera to shoot.... Never ever come to this place...

There are so much variety of dosas! The taste also good also the cost also is acceptable! Whatever dosa we choose it is 50 rupees only! This is one good thing! But we should wait for few minutes to get our food!

The dosa here is just awesome... All varieties of dosa.He also tries to ensure everyone gets their order as soon as possible and in line. But again. Just try all the varieties u will love it.Just one point to note, avoid parcel as by the time you get it home it loses the crispiness.. so go there.. have your fill and be back

First of all, we need to wait untill our turn the food is worth the wait.... I found few comments saying he s taking too long, Yes it happens but he s a old man around 60 yrs who is handling single handedly the shop and he looks quite unwell bcz of age.so considering his age, I personally felt the delay is not a problem, definitely I recommend this place

Was in line close to 1 hr, he abruptly said no food and terminated the line, this is my 7th time returning home with no food. Hes preparing the food by standing topless what if a hair or sweat falls in the food while cooking what if the dosa batter may have his hair or sweat.

This review is only for hygiene of the place. He reuses the plates without washing them. But he does put a plastic sheet and then on top of that a banana leaf. After eating everyone keeps the plates near the hand wash area. He take the plates from there and reuse them. The least he could do is just rinse them in water and use it again. But NO. So I would recommend take away (you have to bring your own vessels)PS: Dosa was okay. Nothing great!

A nice place for dosa in the evening time. The joint is quite popular among the locals. The owner, known as dosa mama to the regulars, manages the shop himself and the place is quite hygienic. As it is a one man show, if it gets busy youll have to wait quite a while to get your dosa. It is open from 5.30 until 10.30. The menu consists of various types of dosas, adai and chapati. Special mention goes to the Mysore Masala Dosai which is thick, but crisp with the right amount of chutney and masala. Another special mention goes out to the super soft set dosai accompanied by vadacurry and the wonderful vegetable adai. All dishes are priced at 40 each. Good value for money.

Went there today to try it. First time. Crowd was huge. But the problem was he was trying to maintain an order to ask people what they want but it kept shifting. With only one stove and a single person handling everything, its difficult to manage things. I left because he only kept asking the people on the left side of him for orders. Waited for over 30 minutes. A lot of people left the place disappointed. Because the existing customers who were eating kept ordering again. Maybe hes pleasing regular customers I dont blame him but if he could figure out a way to serve people as they come in an order it would be better. Didnt have any dosa today. Will post a taste review once I have one there.

A few months earlier , it was the most peaceful place to eat, was famous though, and limited to the area of Mambalam. A one man show, you cant say no to the varieties of dosa . Ever since the video was put out about it, it has become a crowd puller. Oh boy , it has now become the busiest place . He doesnt have any intentions expanding the business , with the increasing crowd and irritating customers, you gotta wait for a min 1hr to get your piece of dosa. Worth every penny.

Horrible! The experience and the quality. It is a classic case of misuse of social media to blow a mediocre out of proportion. People standing for more than 1 hour are turned away in the end without even the courtesy to inform in advance by the arrogant owner. The dosa is not brown as he is in a hurry to turn half baked. He poured 2 chutneys, sambar one over another. The result is a mess with no any particular taste not even dosa flavour.

They serve varieties of dosa at 40 rupees. The shop is open from 5:30 in evening . Their poondu dosa (garlic dosa) is very tasty. It is worth the price. There is a huge rush for this shop and still people wait and buy food. They dont give plastic covers for parcel. if you need parcels you have to bring your own vessels. It is a 10 minutes walk from West mambalam railway station. There is a marriage hall near to the shop.

Review №37

Big queue. Spent one hour standing in the queue. ₹ 40 for any type of dosa. We had set dosa with vada curry, ghee roast and garlic dosa. All were yummy. But all the side dishes like sambar and chutneys were dumped one over the other, resulting in a gravy of unknown strange taste. One person does all the work, cook-cum-server-cum-parcel packer-cum-cashier without any help. At a time he can do only two dosas. All these things take time. So, if you have time at your disposal, then you will enjoy the tasty dosas. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

The center starts at 5pm. Go by 4:50pm and tell mama your order to avoid crowd. Best item is Mysore Masala Dosa which also has garlic, next is Poondu (GARLIC) dosa. Adai, Sambar, Chutneys are good but not great.

Review №39

I went here today and I should say I was definitely dissapointed after all the reviews and hype created from YouTube. The dosas were average and the side dishes were bordering on below average. Above all of this this guys attitude is a real dampener. His tone is very arrogant and the way he speaks is really rude. I understand that he handles everything alone but that shouldnt make him compromise on customer service. His attitude is as if hes serving us dosas for free. Roadside food hand carts are abundant in Chennai and the only way theyre retaining their customers is because of the way they handle their customers. I tried his garlic dosa, pudina dosa, mysuru masala dosa, and ghee dosai. Only garlic dosai was good; All others were average. The chutneys are super watery and the sambar is pathetic. He should make better arrangements to manage the crowd instead of venting out to customers. Moreover he wants ppl to pay even before they have their dosa. Thoroughly dissapointing.

Dosa mama as he is famously known, is better off than any 5 star chef Ive ever seen. Hes quick in taking orders, does not let us wait for more than 5 minutes in spite of the crowd, serves us with hot&tasty unimaginable varieties of dosas with a homemade touch to it. Given the huge number of orders he takes, there is no compromise in the cleanliness though it is a street food stall. Inspite of being a street stall, the types of dosas and adai he offers cannot be found in any high class veg speciality restaurant. Mamas vegetable adai, tomato dosa, garlic dosa, mysore masala dosa never let you down. This is a must eat and must visit street joint for anybody who goes to West mambalam. The rates are very nominal when compared to any other place which offers such awesome varieties of dosas. Enjoy hot dosas in the open air, counting the stars !! In a word - Wonderful !
