My family consulted Dr.Vasudevan over a period of 2 years to treat my fathers illness owing to symptoms such as hallucinations, swallowing difficulty, regular hiccups etc..During this period, not once did the doctor mention to us that he suffered from Dementia/Parkinsonism/Alzheimers. If only he had mentioned, I would have taken the effort to look up online to know what precautions to take - my father went missing for a week owing to his forgetfulness (the Doctor never highlighted this possibility).It was only after we consulted another Doctor and SCARF, Anna Nagar that we were explained about the disease and advised about care-giving etc.Moreover he is extremely unfriendly - there was this instance when I mentioned it to him that often my fathers hallucinations worsened after giving some of the medicines - his response was dont talk like an idiot.He is also extremely unprofessional. Once he shouted at my brother because we took a scan from a diagnostic centre close to our house instead of the one he referred to.A doctor, especially one treating patients with mental illnesses must be patient, friendly and proactive - none which Mr. Vasudevan is.
