Karaneeswarar Thirukkovil is one of the 7 Saptha Sthaana Shiva Temples in Mylapore, Chennai. The list : includes (1) Sri Karaneeswarar Temple, (2) Sri Theerthapaleeswarar Temple, (3) Sri Velleeswarar Temple, (4) Sri Virupaksheeswarar Temple, (5) Sri Valeeswarar Temple, (6) Sri Malleeswarar Temple and (7) Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple, in that orderSiddha worship procedure, is that devotees should offer worship at the six other Shiva temples first before visitng the Kapaleeswarar Temple. This temple is the abode of Sri Karaneeswara and Mother Porkodi Amman. It is in the middle stretch of Bazaar Road in Mylapore. It is about half a kilometer from the Kapali temple.Karaneeswarar temple is the first of 7 Saptha sthaana temples. Karana in Tamil means cause. Karana + Iswara = Karaneeswara, the Lord who is the Cause. He is the primordial cause of this universe which is His very form. He is also the Lord who can teach us the causality behind all events.Imagine the number of events which happen in this universe in a split second. From the rustling of leaves in every tree to the scurrying of insects and the thoughts and actions of man, how many happenings in every instant! It is Lord Karaneeswara who can instruct us on the causality of each and every happening. There is a reason behind everything that happens, everything that moves, every thought, every action. Must have darshan.

Sri Karniswarar Temple (Guru Sthalam)The temple dates back to the 12th century and is believed to have been renovated by the later Cholas. The temple has the distinction of being the abode of the sage Vashishta. The Lord here is in the sense that Eisen is the cause of all the movements of the worldAmbika Sri Sornambika is blessed with the alias of Sri Karniswarar. It is the belief of the devotees that gold and material things will prosper in the lives of those who worship this hope.Ithalattu Eesan is an aspect of Guru Bhagavan, his Karagan and Putra Karagan in the Navagrahas, who will be worshiped on Thursdays to remove marriage defects and Buddha defects. There will be more prosperity. All the above tamil lines came as a forward in whatsapp.I have modified few lines. I thank the unknown writer. This temple is one among the Saptha Sivan temple. When your in chennai, you can visit this temple and get blessings of Lord Sivan.it is very special to visit this temple during Sivan ratri.Om Namachchivaya
