Really great theatre. Beautiful architecture, fantastic layout for accoustics where you can still see the performance relatively well at any seat. The reason for 4 stars is the seating. Reasonable sized people are decently cramped and touching each other, and anyone who is any size larger are either extremely crowded, or are cramping other people severely. Everyone deserves a comfortable seat, especially for the prices of some shows.
Wonderful historic venue. Great place to catch live music. The sound is well balanced and the accommodations are modern. It is such a fascinating venue in terms of the vertical arraignment. Many levels, with a very large mezzanine. Regardless of your opinion of old venues, still worth checking out. The Paramount Theatre like many if the Paramount movie theaters from the roaring 20’s have found a fantastic place in the arts today. Obviously seats are tight and crammed, but this is the way it was. Enjoy! If you get a chance, please visit this place!
I went to a showing of Jesus Christ Superstar. It was the first since the pandemic. I was really pleased with their commitment to sanitation and security. The venue is beautiful as always, clean, well staffed. We arrived fashionably late (read enjoyed dinner more than anticipated and missed curtain). The staff were so nice, explained what to do. We had time between arriving and the e d of the first set to snag a drink. The show was so fun. 10/10 would recommend if you are looking for a lovely night out, head to the paramount(make sure you have tickets I believe those are all sold online). So fun!
Very nice theater in the heart of Seattle. First time here for me and we saw a stand up comedy show. The venue is incredible. I wish I had more time to spend walking around because everything is so pretty and ornamental. Lot of details in the architecture and design. I think any seat here would be a great view given the size, layout, and acoustics of the theater. Food and drink options were great, although no eating in the theater depending on the performer. The folks at the food/drink stations were moving like a very well oiled machine and kept the line flowing smoothly. I look forward to visiting again and highly recommend going to a show here anytime.
Does this really call for a review? YES. Yes it does. This place is run primarily by a volunteer staff. The theater is historic (I know a lot of Theaters are historic, but wait) find someone who works there and ask them about the GIANT MUSIC BOXES hidden behind the lattice work to the left and right of the stage. Ask about where the seats go! Ask about the history! I dont know if they still do it, but they used to give an amazing free tour on the occasional Saturday morning. But lets be real. If youre going here, its not for the Theater. Its cause you already have tickets to a thing. Thats great. Enjoy that thing, but I hope you ask someone about those music boxes.
Went and saw Jesus Christ Superstar. Was a really good show. Only issue was we almost missed curtain and with covid rules we wouldnt have been able to sit if we missed it. Make sure to show up early, bring proof of vaccine and if you are going to get a drink do it before sitting as no intermission.
Came here for my first major comedy show it was Tom Segura.Overall I got to say the line to enter may have been long but it goes by quick. The staff was very helpful.I will say the concession stands need more people
Nice old theater, real pretty. Plenty of (not cheap) parking nearby. Good restaurants in the area. But youll be going here to see a specific performance so as long as thats good the Paramount is a fine venue.
The Paramount is an old and very lovely theater. This is a great venue to see a concert, watch a comedy show, or view a play. The acoustics are great, the decor amazing, but the seats are small and pale in. No parking on site but can be found just a couple blocks west. There are 2 bars here when they are open for plays, one In the lobby as you enter and one around the corner just across the hall from the main entrance to the auditorium. I didnt go upstairs so I dont know if they serve there. Bars serve drinks in sippy cups so you can take them in the theater. Snacks are limited to candy, chips or cookies. Bathroom lines and drink lines are all long at intermission.. and the place gets super crowded to just get around.
Always a great place to see a show one of the iconic theaters in Seattle that has been kept up over the years. I always try and get lower mezzanine seats as the acoustics are fantastic and you get a full view of the stage.
Classy and beautiful inside, I always appreciate taking a look up at the ceiling work. Must see at least once if you live here.Always make sure to leave yourself a lot of time to grab drinks and snacks because the lines are loooooong.
I had a great time seeing the In This Moment Concert! They even upgraded my seats! They did have technical difficulties twice, but fixed them. There was one annoying thing. They did not allow re-entry, so there was no way to get fresh air in between sets! I couldnt believe it! For this reason, I will think twice before seeing a concert here again. The venue has is beautiful!
The theater itself is absolutely beautiful. 99% of the staff is incredibly accommodating and beyond charming. The gentleman checking vaccination status outside and the folks doing security in line have a great sense of humor. The ushers are phenomenal, trying their best to accommodate everyone and make sure every guest has the best time possible. Also, the bathrooms were very clean.I will warn people that the mezzanine is, in fact, a balcony, up two flights of stairs. The bathrooms are also only in the basement or on the third floor, although there is limited handicapped accommodations on the main floor. Lastly, the sound in the section on the far right (Im assuming the same would be on the far left) of the orchestra, where they have added folded seating, is not clear. Consider all these things when purchasing tickets.Meanwhile, I had a bit of a negative situation at the theater due to mobility issues. There were some issues with the configuration of the theater (mostly not related to historic parts of the building) that led to my visit being less than pleasant. The issues I encountered were likely to affect other people, so I brought them to the attention of management of the theater. Im quite impressed with the level of response from the team. They have assured me that they have corrected the one issue they can. There was an additional issue that WAS part of the historical part of the building and they hope to address that concern as a warning on the website when people book seating.Basically, overall, I believe that the employees of the theater want all guests to have an amazing time.
They did a great job of COVID screening, unfortunately the comic didnt have A+ material
Beautiful venue despite a few quirks.Attending my first show at the Paramount. I was blown away by how beautiful the interior is of the building. You definitely get a grand and rich vibe from it. Overall, I enjoyed the show and experience.I was a little surprised to find the seats in the balcony were so compacted together. Im 5 foot 2 inches and felt pretty cramped. I would imagine someone with longer legs would feel absolutely squished! There also wasnt any protocols for social distancing once you got into the theater. This was also surprising since everyone was sitting so close together.Another quirky thing I ran into was at the drink bar. I wanted to purchase a beverage to take into the theater and went to buy the apple cider they were selling. I was told that I couldnt take it into the theatre because it was a glass bottle and they werent allowed to pour the drink into their other available plastic containers. This was a bit confusing as to why they would choose a beverage in a glass bottle if they can only be consumed in the hallways outside the theatre.Overall, the theatre was clean and seemed well staffed. The sound system was definitely nice and loud so there were no issues when it came to sound.
Just saw Tom Segura, was amazing!! Theater is architecturally beautiful but seating could use some updating. Overall good experience.
The theatre has a nostalgic feel to it, looks great on the inside. Theres sooo many stairs and no elevator,, but wheelchair accessible seating if needed...In covid times, the lines to get checked in are long of course so arrive early. They accept your Vax card or a negative Covid PCR test as long as the test was/is taken within 48 hours of your show. Its downtown so parking is a chore. There was a bar on every floor with outrageous prices(Id wait til after the show). We saw Tom Segura for wifeys birthday. Overall It was a fun experience and we would definitely go again.
The venue used to be amazing, now its filled the hall monitors and over mouthy anarchist dictating her beliefs. Rude not out for your political views when Im attending a show. Great show horrible experience. Seattle and Paramount can do better I seen it!
Beautiful venue. First show back since world went wonky and it was fantastic. Was here for City and Colour and sound was fantastic along with lighting.... Architecture amazing. Will be returning as much as i can. 👍👍
Fabulous 👌 Herbie Hancock and friends concert. At 81, hes still got it... and he loves performing for his fans. He did two encores. This was a life event for me. Catch him where you can yet this fall. He will be great no matter where but it was fabulous at the Paramount in Seattle.
Wonderful place to see a show. You can bring your sippy cup into the show now. Great accoustics, and very few bad seats.
The Paramount is amazing and historic. Everything from the entry to the show to the merch booths to the bars and ushers was very well organized and easy. The bass is a little intense. Maybe they should knock it down a notch, but thats okay.
Show was awesome but event staff was annoying and harassing about face masks.
We came here to see Tom Segura, and it was mostly a good experience. Tom him self was incredible in person, and the venue was comfortable and relatively easy to get into, even with requiring everyone show proof of vaccination. The negative for me was their cell phone policy. I get that piracy is an issue, but they had no cell phone usage posted everywhere with rules starting you cant even look at your phone or text/message other people during the show, or you would be removed and banned with no refund. They yelled it at you in line, and they announced several times while we waited. This includes using your phone prior to the show which started almost twenty minutes late, so youre just sitting there looking at an empty stage with nothing to do. I just thought it was overkill. While the show was enjoyable, I probably wouldnt come back to this venue unless it was someone I really couldnt miss.
We saw Jesus Christ Superstar and there wasnt a bad seat in the house. Hi great acoustics. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well.
Nice little theater. I enjoy going there for concerts.
Really pretty theatre! Its very big and I went and saw The Sound Of Music here. I would definitely go here to see other musicals in the future.
Super cool venue. We were here for their first show back, which just took place in the lobby! Really great vibes, and very interesting architecture. I do love me a good theater. They are requiring proof of vaccination too.
A Downtown Seattle icon; still lovely and the seats are actually pretty comfortable!
Nice but balconies were rather warm and smokey.
My favorite Seattle venue. Great sound and sight lines almost anywhere in the building.
Beautiful but if youre a big guy dont get balcony seats. So crammed like a tuna can
Great vintage interior, wonderful balcony seating. A great place to enjoy music OR a performance. Within walking distance of downtown hotels and the Washington Convention Center.
The most beautiful theater I have ever seen.
Great theater. But seats are so tiny. Pretty much feels like you are sitting on your neighbor’s lap.
Only bad thing about this place is the parking! I went to the In This Moment concert and couldnt find any parking without paying 40 dollars to park a mile or two away.
This building is so rich in detail and old world charm. But theres nothing old about the lighting, sound, and comfort.
Excelent place for concerts! The way the theatre is diatributed is great, you can have an excellent view of the stage no matter where you are and the sound and acoustic is fantastic! I went to a concert, but definitely would try an acting performance too!
Saw Jesus Christ Superstar. Excellent show. Easy parking. Easy seating.
This place was fantastic. Talmbout actual fantasy bro felt like a dang cathedral. Awesome show and amazing experience
Friggen amazing! Great acoustics and youre able to see the stage from practically anywhere
It is stunning architecturally. Think the real enjoyment comes in who you are going to see. Ive been here many times and the acts have always been fantastic! Most recently my best girlfriend and I saw David Foster. He was exceptional! Many times he was close enought that we could literally reach out and touch him! What an experience and a night!
Pretty venue, choose balcony over the lower level if you see getting seats at the back.
Gorgeous building. However, beware that it is old and does not have an elevator. My mother struggled with the steps, so take caution when booking seats if this would be a concern for you.
We saw Iliza Schlesinger here and it was amazing. Such a beautiful venue.
Beautiful building, amazing experience at the Back Veil Brides and In This Moment concert on 10/14/21
Such a beautiful place to see concerts, comedy, and live theater.Comfy seats. Helpful staff
Really happy with the relative speed of the vacation card/id check and adherence to mask requirements.
Beautiful theater. Would like to learn more of its history. Enjoyed the show staff were very helpful.
Always a delight to attend this theater. As I age, restrooms in the lowest level, without an elevator, is starting to become awkward, however.
I have seen shows here for over 30 years. Just a fantastic venue with great sound and lots of options for parking, dining and pre-func.
Lovely theatre! Architecture and acoustics are off the charts!! Highly recommend
Delightful. Jesus christ superstar!!!. Also one of the singers sounded like Getty lee from Rush 2112.
5 stars, another wonderful evening at The Paramount Theatre. I starting going here as a young child and still love a night out in the emerald city. Some people complain about the lower level bathroom, but come on this gem was built in 1920’s. There is so much detail on the ceiling and walls, they are just breathtaking. If you go, take it all in. You never know when this piece of history may slip away, it’s WICKED or is it a sweet delight.
Beautiful venue. Amazing customer service.
The most beautiful theater Ive ever seen.
Overview:Awesome looking theatre with the nice, elegant interior details that you would expect when attending these amazing broadway shows! Ive only been once but was sold within the first few minutes of sitting down in my seat. Liked it so much that weve already bought tickets for 2 different shows next year.First time coming here was for Aladdin which was my favorite Disney film growing up. I have a feeling no other show will top it for me because of this but either way, were big fans of Paramount Theatre now and will be coming back whenever we find shows that peak our interest!
Love this beautiful old theater. Because of its age, bathrooms are downstairs. ADA on main level though. Balcony is gorgeous, the whole interior, exterior too for that matter, is gorgeous and restored. Sound and stage views are fantastic! I go here a lot, this visit happened to be for Hamilton (squee!!) If you can score VIP tickets, the special room is fantastic. I just had regular tickets this time.
I love this theatre. Its a classic. The acoustics are wonderful.
My first time here. Came to see Phantom of the Opera. Absolutely loved this experience! The Paramount is a beautiful theater!! It doesnt appear that theyre is a bad seat in the house. I was in the level 2 Mez center and could see the show perfectly. As a larger woman, I was worried about the seating. However, the seats were actually fairly comfortable, considering. They also offer additional cushion for comfort. The only problem would be little leg room. There were at least 4 bars that I could see serving a variety of drinks and snacks. When purchasing tickets, I purchased a parking ticket in a nearby garage. I would definitely recommend that since parking downtown is hard to find and can be expensive. All in all a great experience and I cant wait to see another show there!
Beautiful theater and lots of interesting things to see.
Beautiful Theatre, with great character and acoustics. I have seen a few different shows here; musicals and concerts, and it’s always great. Helpful staff, great drinks for a reasonable price, definitely worth a decent length drive. If you want to see something that comes around to this theatre, you best see it.
Beautiful theater. Glad to be back for big events.
This is a gorgeous theater that has many different activities possible.
I wish that the cups that you purchase for $3. Were flat instead of rounded on the bottom . My cup kept on falling over, it didnt have a sturdy balance when it was empty. But other then that.. beautiful theater. I love coming here for shows! Everyone of the staff is so very helpful when trying to find your sent. The lines for drinks move pretty fast. Lots of smiles and laughs. I love that. Keep up the great work!:)
Had a fantastic time at the Peter Frampton concert!🎉The only downside was the seats are uncomfortable. Old bumpy theater seats. But we were up and down (dancing and cheering etc) that it was ok. The upside is that every thing else was great! The place itself is quite beautiful. The staff was really helpful and friendly.
Friendly staff, good venue for events.
Beautiful place and awesome acoustics for a concert.
Awesome venue
