Before Covid this hotel was maintained properly but now not worth the price.

A budgetary hotel where you have to do the registration process all by yourself. The management can improve the efficiency of the receptionists and make them help the guest in a useful and friendly manner. I could ignore all these but charging nearly 2500 rs and providing a room with stained sheets and a broken flush in bathroom are really unjustifiable. Please take care of all these and be more guest friendly.

Most rooms are fitted with window acs. The ac vents are broken and couldnt swing or atleast couldnt stand in a perfect angle. All Air is thrown either to the floor or to the roof.

First thing, the hotel is located on the main road and it is very near to metro station. The rooms and bathrooms are maintained clean. Room service is too good.All the staff are being kind and helpful. Covid protocols are also being followed which felt great. I would recommend this hotel for people who want to stay in Chennai.

Very poor customer experience and stay. Basic issues like water, air conditioning are an issue.We ordered for filter coffee and in Chennai they gave lukewarm coffee with bru powder!some other customers at the counter were complaining that its no use , since these guys dont do anything despite raising grievances.very unusual considering its a Tata alliance..

A good place for those who prefer privacy. Had a good and pleasant stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The most important thing was, they followed all the covid norms and strict guidelines were implemented. That felt safe.

I am not sure how this place is still in business..The worst hotel I ever stayed at. I got a single uncomfortable bed... The room was so small I couldnt strech...I booked the room for 2 days I left a day early because I couldnt stay...The the people are not at all helpful...The food... Ow my god... I know paper dosa... First time I saw paper idly...I WILL NOT RECOMMEND GINGER EVEN TO MY ENEMY....

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE.Arrived to the hotel reception on the 6th September, at around 12 am and were made to do a complicated registration process along with ID proof of all the guests (luckily I had a soft copy of my aadhar, if not they refused to let me stay).We were manipulated to take up their suite, other option of which would be 2 rooms for ₹5,135 which is pretty unreasonable as compared to their neighbouring competition.We were informed the next morning that breakfast wasnt complimentary (even after taking their most premium suite room) which didnt really make sense to me.Bathrooms were clogging up and flooding while having bath. Receptionist by the name of Vikki was super impatient and arrogant inspite of us putting up which a long registeration process.Overall terrible experience, we ended up checking out on the following morning itself, our stay being a two day stay.This deeply sadness me at the Ginger in Pondicherry happened to be the best budget hotel Ive stayed in so far (been to Pondi 4 times and have stayed there during all of the visits). Im not sure if the entire Ginger Franchise has become like this, but one thing I know is this was DEFINITELY THE WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE IVE HAD.

Located on main road, easily Assesable, well maintained and clean. maintaining all precautions required for covid. staff is very responsive and helping. the ambiance of the hotel is excellent. family will enjoy being in this hotel. well maintained plants and surrounding. enough parking spaces. security guard at entrence very safe and comfortable.

The room size is too small and felt overpriced... They are selling single bed rooms at a price of double .. After escalating the matter at front desk, I was provided with a double bed ... Not recommended at a budget more than 1500 INR ... You will get better options 😉

The Hotel stay was very pleasant. The rooms were neat and clean. The cleanings staffs clean the room once in two days which is really a good thing. Overall the stay was very nice. I would recommend this hotel definitely to those who are looking for a comfortable stay in chennai.

Covid Protocols absolutely followed till the last.TStayed in the suite room facing the Main Road.View was excellent and to kill for.Being on the 9th floor and right next to the metro passing back and fourth was interesting. Very good front office service who provided us newspaper, timely meal service and water bottles. Great staff Thanks.

Poor service no hot water window AC horrible noise no sleep

Rooms are small, but cozy. Hotel is in main road, and almost in center of the city. Bus stand is very nearby. Breakfast is not great, but ok. Staff was not very helpful. We were 2 people and wanted room with a king/queen size bed. By mistake we booked a twin bed room (Rate for both room types was same). Reception staff first completely denied giving a standard room saying whatever we booked, only that will be given. Later on insisting, they said they will inform in 2 hours. But they never informed/changed.They didnt change the room from twin room to standard room, even when the charges were same.

Absolutely outstanding hotel perfectly located. Helpful, friendly staff who go above and beyond to make sure you have the best time. It was my birthday during our stay, which we had not mentioned, but they obviously saw that at the check in.

I stayed for 1 night and the room was horrible. Old type ac even in 16 its not getting cool. There is one ceiling fan and facing opposite wall. Fan position also worst. Bed is fine but ac and fan is not working properly.

Rooms are well furnished but are cramped. Needs to receive guests or at least, direct them with proper sign boards. Have never seen bath room shower so powerful, can have a rejuvenating bath. Electrical door locks are sophisticated but couldnt curtail the irking corridor noises.

Perfect for Business stays.Cabs are easy to get at almost all the time.The hotel staff are friendly and courteous.There is buffet as well as a la carte with in room service.Parking spaces are limited but sufficient.Some bookings have complimentary breakfast, choose wisely.

They have more customers due to their customer service and customer satisfaction. The rooms here is very neat and hygienic. Room services is very nice and attenders are very friendly to all their customers. The hotel atmosphere is very nice .They have very spacious two wheeler and four wheeler parking area. Its easily visible from a high traffic area. Coffee day is in this Hotel and its very nice to have coffee and Enjoy

Stayed here for 2 days. First day was okay, clean room but really small, the bathroom was clean too. We ordered for a chicken kathi roll on day 1, it was definitely below average, wasnt a kathi roll first off and it was too oily. Day 2, despite telling them to clean our room when we left our room at 8am, room wasnt cleaned till 2:20pm and the front desk (Mr. Shiva) said its hotel policy to not clean rooms till after lunch which is just ridiculous again. Also, right after a heated conversation with this person room was cleaned in 5mins ( how does the policy stand then?). Anyway, apart from this, i think it was overall okay.

Pathetic Experience in GINGER hotel,1. While checking in, Instead of reception collecting documents, They are asking me to open the link and fill the form from my mobile itself. This is nonsense. What will happen If my father 72 age checked in who does not have android phone.3. AC has no remote and it set in Auto mode. Most of the time it is noisy and each and every time need walk to change temperature and even for switch off the AC.4. Wifi is pathetic speed. I have seen such slow speed in last 10yrs of my hotel staying experience.5. Lift stops in 1st floor every time when i go out and come in to 5th floor. This is for reception person crosschecking. This is irritating.6. Wifi modem kept inside the room has green light, when all light swithed off while sleeping, this green light covers whole room in green color & is really disturbing the sleep.7. Room Tv size is 24 inch, very small tv. Sitting in bed and cannot read the words scrolling in below the tv while watching news.8. 2rhrs water heater is not available. When i come back to hotel from outside in night, i dont have hot water for bath.9. Restaurent food is tooo costly. Even TEA is Rs.100 All other items.10. There is no balcony in room or no window in room. Cannot be such room for long. It is not good for health.

Everything is as per the standards of Ginger except 1 or 2 frontline staff members. They Will always give incomplete info. Make mistakes and blame either internet connection or the system. When I asked for the solution he just ignored. I just threatened to complain the management, he nodded with a smile. They know that being in TATA group, they will seldom face any action.I have stayed in Ginger Bangalore & Trivendrum. Totally opposite experience in Chennai.

Condition of rooms are pathetic.

Location 200 mts from vadapalani metro station and SIMS.During this COVID period, check in will take time and too much restriction for visitors.Visitors are not allowed.Because of lockdown for long time rooms are stinky and A/C not working properly.Restaurant closes at 11 pm last order will be taken at 1030pm.Only online booking is allowed.Your are allowed to enter front office, only if you have online booking code.

Overall good experience, just felt the in hotel restaurant prices are quite high. I hope if in future we can have food in hotel restaurant in reasonable price that will add value to the convenient stay at hotel.Othar than this good experienced enjoyed the stay. Recommended !!

Dont stay here ..this is not a proper hotel .room is so small that it ends before it starts.. width of the room is so designed that after the bed ends there is hardly any space left to walk to toilet. AC was kept in one corner of the room ,dont know why ? If this was enough it was so week that it was not able to send cool air to second bed .. a small fan was provided to help the AC but it was doing less job and more noise so as to assure you falsely that some thing is being done for your comfort .... Actually hotel management was doing all this for guest benifit so as they do not fall asleep and keep awake so they can go to work tomorrow morning as early as possible . Just to be double sure they have put a wify devise and a smoke detector on roof which kept blinking whole night .Toilet sanityry is old and has completed its life but hotel management wants to extract last sign of life from them also .The only silver line was food which was really tasty and served hot ..

Nice business hotel with enough amenities for people whore on a days travel. Wi-Fi was good, food tasty. The furniture/accessories looked a bit old fashioned which could have been upgraded to latest ones.Breakfast had good options of Veg and limited options of non-veg, taste was good.Overall a nice place for a nights stay.

We made a 10 day trip down south. The Chennai part of it was the last 3 days. We had a great start to the stay and were greeted very warmly by the reception and Mr. Velmurugan. They promised us assistance in our touring around Chennai. We got Room No. 911(nothing ominous about this 911) which was at the top of the Hotel facing the Metro. The room has a glass facade which is protruding outside of the external wall of the building. It gives you a fantastic view. Being the tallest building for atleast 1 km in the straight line of vision, we had a fantastic view. We could see some tall buildings on the horizon. The room was very spacious; perfect for a family of three with a refrigerator. The washroom was clean and decent sized. The best part of the room were the huge air conditioners which cooled down the room in 5 minutes after we returned from our shopping expeditions. The food from the restaurant below was great. Delicious food! Room service was very good and the little boy Sanju did a great job. The wifi was superfast. They give you the user name and password at the time of checking in. The hotel is located in a good place on a busy road and so travelling to different places around Chennai and the airport is easy. Mr. Velmurugan went out of his way to help me with our travel arrangements and getting some documents I needed urgently. Although Chennai was reeling under a water shortage, we enjoyed our stay at Ginger Chennai and would love to stay here again on our next trip. The best part of the service was that the staff of Ginger was very attentive and always ready to assist us. It is a tribute to the staff of Ginger and the people of Chennai that there are little girls from the North East who are working here who are so well integrated into the workforce and accepted in the community. I saw the girl who generated our bill Tiaienla Longkumer pulling some pranks on the very dutiful elderly security guard below the building and the elderly man taking it sportingly. Kudos to Mr. Velmurugan and the entire staff of Ginger Chennai for their hospitality and service. Keep up the good work!

The rooms are very compact for a family , there is no alley just room and bathroom . Not much big patio or ventilation . Complementary WiFi is very very slow and paid one is bit costly , dint expect. But the facilities and staff is good .The complementary breakfast has lot of varieties. Parking and security is good as well .
